Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Didn't receive terms that were advertised
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020, US Bank approved my application for XXXX XXXX account number XXXX that was applied under promotion code XXXX. Although I have met the requirements of the offer, US Bank is refusing to credit my account with the promotional bonus of {$300.00} that I am entitled to or to provide justification for doing so. The Terms and Conditions of the bonus offer do not preclude a new customer like me from receiving the bonus when opening a joint account with an existing customer. Nonetheless, US Bank is arbitrarily denying the bonus that is payable to me and not to the joint signer. US Bank has not provided me with any documentation to support their position.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: I have filed a dispute in regards to the incorrect items on my credit report. It has been well over 30 days. I am also aware that the credit bureaus have been given and additional 15 days due to Covid-19 to reply to investigation. That time frame has also pasted. I haven't received any investigation results.

Consumer Complaint: I have 3 visa gift cards that I received for a birthday, but never used because I moved and I thought I had lost them. I recently found them, and discovered that the balance is {$0.00}. My cards have been charged inactivity fees until there was nothing left. I have contacted the customer service number on the back and they will not help. They tell me I should have called to report the cards lost, but how could I do that if I didnt have the card numbers to give them? I ask to speak to a manager but they say there is no one available and they just redirect me to US Bank, the bank that issues the card, but they give me no number to call. When I asked for a number they said to just XXXX US Bank. What kind of customer service is this? They also said all they could do is submit a fee reversal request. I asked when I would hear back from them. They said I had to keep calling back, but they could not give me a time frame. That was 1 month ago and still they say nothing has changed and there is no place to complain to. I have read a lot of reviews for this company similar to mine. I honestly think this is a gift card scam that is just tricking people into to buying gift cards that they will never get to use. This company is tied to US Bank apparently, but when I reached out to US Bank they said they can not help. This company should be investigated for fraud.

Issue: Advertising
Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising about the card
Consumer Complaint: About XX/XX/XXXX we ( my wife ) received an unsolicited offer through the mail from US Bank for their branded " ReliaCard '' debit card. The attached information included the explanation " The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment ( CDLE ) automatically issues a ReliaCard to every claimant who files for and is approved to receive unemployment benefits. '' We do not live in Colorado, she has never filed for unemployment in any state ever. We are of course concerned that someone is using her identity. However, because it came to our address in Ohio perhaps there is no identity issue. She did not " activate '' the card. Nevertheless, calling USBank numerous times and visiting their website has proven frustrating and fruitless. If this is simply a random offer to random persons to get their debit card into the marketplace, shame on them.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud
Consumer Complaint: I received a U.S. Bank Reliacard in the mail on behalf of The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment ( CDLE ). I did not apply for this card. The CDLE website is useless for reporting fraud and their live chat feature is also useless. A person can not call U.S. Bank about the card without first activating the card which I will not do. I never lived in Colorado or paid taxes in Colorado. Why would Colorado issue me this unemployment card? All of these agencies are inept. This is identity theft.

Consumer Complaint: I had a credit card account Elan Financial Services from about XXXX to XXXX. The account was set up to be covered by an autopay from my XXXX XXXX Account. I closed the account in XX/XX/XXXX. At the time the balance on the account was either XXXX or at most a few XXXX dollars. That was the last I heard from this account until it showed up on my credit report as a charged off account this year. Investigating more, is appears that the autopay was still active in XXXX and that the balance had never been paid off. It also appears that for some reason the autopay was interrupted at some point between XXXX and XXXX. Over the past two months I have repeatedly asked Elan financial services for the complete records for this account, and they have yet to send me anything except the last 18 months of statements, going back to XX/XX/XXXX. These statements do now explain why the account was not paid off between XXXX and XXXX, despite there being and autopay set up, which was supposed to pay off the balance in full. Finally, in XX/XX/XXXX, I paid off the balance of this account, hoping to make it go away, however it is still showing up on my credit report. I still have not received any explanation or documentation of what happened to this account between XXXX and XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX tried to contact Elan Financial services to request that they delete this account from the credit reports. The person that I spoke with told me that the were unable to do this, and that they couldn't transfer me to someone who could. They suggested I file disputes with the credit reporting agencies, which I have already done.

Issue: Closing on a mortgage

Consumer Complaint: So I was a customer of US Bank XXXX XXXX for 5 years. Never really had any major issues other that my month to monthly payments changes the first couple years cause they didnt get the escrow right. The way I set up my account through them they were 100 % on charge of paying the property taxes. In my city you can pay in full or 2 different installment plans. They decided it was easier for them to do them 2 installments. My issue you is I found a way better interest rate with different Mortgage company and during that process of refinancing the 2nd installment of property taxes were gon na come due the month after I refinanced and my previous company ( US Bank ) did not send that info to my new company, when trying to figure out the problem with the property tax they are putting the blame on me when they are the ones in charge of the taxes. They 100 % new they only did the 1st installment and will not take any responsibility for notifyingthe new company of qhen the 2nd installment was due. Now I have a {$1100.00} tax payment I have to pay cause they were not on top of there game.

Consumer Complaint: My girlfriend and I both have a mortgage loan through U.S. Bank. She filed bankruptcy last year and was discharged in XXXX of XXXX. I was not part of the bankruptcy at all and had no involvement. After the bankruptcy our mortgage company has stopped reporting for her on the mortgage payments which I understand ; however, they have also not reported positively on my credit which as affected me negatively ( I can not get approved for any other loans because my mortgage isnt reporting my on-time monthly payments ). All of the research I have done states that mortgage companies have to report for non-filing borrowers. Thanks.

Consumer Complaint: I have tried disputing this through XXXX but they won't correct it. US Bank has a delinquent account on my report that was closed XX/XX/XXXX. This item is supposed to be removed from my report on XX/XX/XXXX. But US Bank has changed the date to XXXX. It's supposed to drop off after 7 years. My XXXX report is correct and I'm waiting for my XXXX report to be mailed because their website never works. US Bank calls me literally every day. I've had serious health issues for about 10 years and they know I'm unemployed. They are trying to add 2 years to this torment. I have included a screen shot of my XXXX report with the CORRECT information.

Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: Up until XXXX, every month when I paid my mortgage I would get an emailed receipt. Since XXXX I have been unable to get a receipt for my payment. I save the emails, and save the PDF receipt by month and year to ensure that I have all my records. I have reached out to the company twice now and they respond that they are aware of the issue and will resolve it at a later date, contacting me once it is resolved. I want my receipts, it is that simple. I want the PROOF that my payments have been made and there is XXXX excuse on why they can not provide me with my proof of payment. I get my statements without issue, shouldn't be an issue getting my receipts either. What is worse, when you contact them the system they use is external to their website so you have no record of the contact. Its as if they are attempting to hide the problem. Something is very wrong here.
