Issue: Closing on a mortgage
Subissue: Changes in loan terms during or after closing
Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir/Madam Recently, we went to Truest bank and worked with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX a HELOC. She gave us information on rates, types of different information on the loan, and the information she required of us. We shared with her that we were going to sell our home and use the money and the money we were borrowing to build a new home. Never did She mention that there was a pre-payment fee if we close on it before three years. Never did she share that that fee was {$4900.00}. We are not stupid people though we are in our XXXX, we would not have opened that XXXX had we known it would be required of us to keep it for three years. At the closing XXXX went over each page and never told us about the pre-payment penalty. We were given a loan, which we did not use, and began building our home. We also put our present home on the market for sale by owner, and sold it in approximately 10 days. Shortly there after my husband spoke with the manager of the XXXX Florida branch of XXXX about dunning notices for an insurance policy they wanted placed on the home on which we had had the HELOC. We ended up sending them 4 letters explaining we no longer owned a home and did not need homeowners insurance. The manager of the XXXX branch then told my husband that we were now responsible for up to {$8000.00} because we sold it in less than three years. Hearing that we went to XXXX XXXX, XXXX over XXXX XXXX, and asked if that was so. She told us that yes we were responsible for {$4900.00}. We explained that we were never told that. We also told her about the XXXX department that was threatening to buy insurance on the home we no longer own if we did not buy it immediately. They did buy the insurance as a matter of fact, and we had to complain to her again after we had already 1 Closed the loan 2. Filed a request to lower the penalty for selling our home early because we did not know about the penalty XXXX. Paid the {$4900.00} for. 4.Offered to open a HELOC on the home we had moved into while we built. They did actually charge us for a homeowners insurance but it was finally removed. They never told us they had done that we found it out when we opened our mail. We are writing to you to request your intervention and make XXXX return our {$4900.00}. We feel we are entitled to this refund for the following reasons : Number XXXX we were never informed about the penalty, despite at least XXXX trips to the bank to set up the XXXX Two as you can see, there was poor communication between XXXX departments which contributed to the mistakes that cost us money. XXXX at no time was XXXX XXXX made available to us to discuss her error. XXXX at no time was our problem addressed by the corporate branch though we ask that that be done.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: I opened an account with Truist. I closed the account via telephone. The back office issued a check XX/XX/31 - I did not receive in the mail. I called telephone customer service and they instructed me to visit local branch for further help. Today, XXXX, local branch said there is nothing they can do to help. Teller is denying me my {$50.00} that I deposited in a Truist bank account. " There is nothing else, I can do. '' She gave me the impression that this is a loss on my end because I did not receive the check. Prior to visiting the branch, back office mentioned retail branch can help ( void check, re-issue, or give me cash ). This is not the case. I asked the teller to further look into my request and she denied helping me. Again, Truist owes me {$50.00}. She did not want to offer additional help or phone numbers to contact other staff members. Contacts at Truist ( who did not help ), XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. Please help me resolve this matter. Thank you.

I competed the paperwork at my bank ( Truist ) and took it to XXXX XXXX. i never heard anything about it and realized I never received a confirmation email or any acknowledgment from XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX has no record of the transfer. I went to my local branch of XXXX where I completed the transaction. They could not pull up any information stating that becasue it was an IRA they don't have access to the information and would have to send an email. I located old statements from the bank and dropped XXXX off to the bank. This is over {$10000.00}. Can you help me locate my account, please help me.
