Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: This is about a credit card that was issued through my financial banking institution ( SunTrust Bank ). I was granted a credit amount of {$6200.00} and never used the card. The account was open for about 9 months. I filed a chapter XXXX bankruptcy petition on XX/XX/XXXX and Suntrust Bank was not listed on my Schedule F or Creditors Matrix. I was explained by the bankruptcy specialist at Sun Trust that it is protocol for them to close my account. I had no issue with this as many of my other creditors did the same except they closed it as paid as long as the account was at a XXXX balance when they received notice of the petition. The issue I am having with SunTrust is that they are reporting inaccurately because they have a bankruptcy tag they are refusing to remove which is why it is being reported that my account with them which was at a XXXX balance is being reported as being discharged through bankruptcy. I had no debt with them to be discharged. In addition to them updating each month that I am late on all three credit reports. They update each month I am late but fix the previous month to say I am not late but for an entire month it shows I am late until the next reporting date comes in. I have tried to get them to provide me with a XXXX balance letter which is what the credit bureaus say is sufficient evidence to have the credit file updated or deleted from derogatory reporting. Whenever there is an investigation SunTrust says they are reporting accurately because the bankruptcy tag is flagged on my account and they are refusing to give me a XXXX balance letter so that I may dispute this with the credit agencies on my own. This has caused considerable hardship as this account was in good standing and they have made it seem like they were discharged of my debt with them and they continue to damage my good credit history by saying I am late each month on a account that they decided to close. They only want to offer credit statements which would reflect there were no activity of charges because i never used the card and the full credit amount was the same amount still available when I filed my petition with the court. Other banking and credit card institutions have removed the bankruptcy tag or provided a XXXX balance letter to rectify this issue on their end. SunTrust Bank continues to say they can not. I don't believe its fair of them to ruin my credit reputation and report inaccurately the status of my account at closing when they were never affected or asked by the court petition to grant relief of debt to them. They have already acknowledge that I had a XXXX balance and that the card had no activity on it for the 9 months the account was open. I am also having the same issue with XXXX XXXX XXXX. The account had no activity since XX/XX/XXXX and was at a XXXX balance when account was closed by the credit grantor. They keep reporting they are discharged through bankrutcy when they were not. I requested a zero balance letter from them as well and they keep denying to send it although they verified account had no activity since XX/XX/XXXX and was at a XXXX balance. I would like them to send the letter so I can present to credit agency to have them removed like XXXX did who is also under this same bank. XXXX saw I was at XXXX balance and updated the account as paid/closed and I am wishing XXXX to do the same as they are both under XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Hello I had over {$500.00} waiting to be deposited into my bb & t checking account but because of the long weekend I knew it wouldnt hit until Tuesday Monday evening I instant transferred some money into my account so I could purchase shipping labels from XXXX for my buisness and knew I was cutting it close but should have been enough to cover the {$36.00} in XXXX costs When I woke up Tuesday all was normal in my account and had over {$500.00} as expected Wednesday goes by same thing I went to bed with {$440.00} in my account when I woke up I had a slew of emails from bb & t and {$200.00} in my account They charged me {$210.00} in over draft fees for the labels Monday night Tuesday morning before the account hit I called and asked since I had the money technically at all times and may have been a dollar or some cents off if they could adjust the fees especially since I have never asked to get my overdraft fees removed when things like this has happened before They said bb & t had strict policy there was nothing they could do I was transferred multiple times and spoke to 2 different managers they just said that they marked my account that I had already asked and they said no and now no one will talk to me This is nothing short of robbery If I had been charged an overdraft fee they should have done so once not kept pinging my account they held my funds and then took them away days later

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern Please may I request your help in resolving a dire situation. On XX/XX/2019 I purchased a vehicle from a illegitimate auto dealership titled XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX Wisconsin. The dealership was forced to close shortly after I purchased the vehicle in question. The dealership has now moved to XXXX Wisconsin as their headquarters. The issue in question here is the vehicle was sold fraudulently. The automobile has required upwards of {$20000.00} in necessary repairs. More importantly it has been brought to my attention by the XXXX dealership of XXXX Minnesota that the automobile has been in a major head-on collision ever disclosed. I am involved with a lessor that the dealership is involved with known as Regional Acceptance Corporation that has confirmed to me that my lease terms are for 7 years duration as I was never reviewed the details of the lease nor was I ever given paperwork. The dealership at the time stated to me that their office would send forth all paperwork never to be received. furthermore it has come to my attention that the odometer in the vehicle has been tampered with and was possibly disconnected for a duration of time. I have attempted to negotiate with both the dealership and the lessor to no avail.I have requested to voluntarily surrender the vehicle only to be threatened with a charge-off being reported to all three credit bureaus. This entire transaction was illegal. The vehicle was entirely misrepresented. I have reported the dealership to the Wisconsin Dealership Complaint Board as well as to the Iowa Attorney General, the Wisconsin Attorney General and the State of Wisconsin Consumer Protection Bureau. All service records pertaining are available for review. Thank you.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: Hello, my name is XXXX XXXX, hopefully, you get it. I wanted to come out and let you know about a situation going and my keyboard isn't working the best. So what happens is I've had a long situation with the state of Georgia, and specifically the city of XXXX is its surrounding area. That includes XXXX and just other counties like XXXX XXXX And of course, XXXX, Georgia XXXX. so I escaped to another city And I finally got the settlement check. I had to sign some documentation, which I wasn't happy about because it wasn't a statement I agreed with. But I kind of need to get out of the situation that I was in. What is happened is I open an account with the bank that the check was drawn on. the check was drawn on SunTrust. So they open the account. And that next day, I went to buy a car. I was excited. I had to make some withdraws. Thursday, I got my debit card Friday. I got a call from Bank and they said, Hey, your accounts been frozen. I was like, XXXX, that's so weird. And I was like, Okay, well, maybe it's because the car, if that's fine, I wasn't mad about that. So the lady said, hey, look, we're gon na need your social security card. Now when I opened the account, I explained the situation. Because the COVID-19 the Social Security Office wasn't open. And you can verify this. So, Saturday, I told her I said, Hey, can I go ahead and send you my old tax returns my w2, all that good stuff. And she was like, yeah, you can, I'll see if they'll take it. the bank was closed Sunday and Monday was a holiday, which was XXXX XXXX, Tuesday, they were open, which was yesterday, today is Wednesday, XX/XX/2020. So I go in today this morning, and she was like the banker with XXXX XXXX. And there was another gentleman who the older gentleman was like, Yes, Miss XXXX. They're not even talking to us at this time about why they closed your account. And I said, well, it's kind of peculiar, because they're not even giving me time to get any documentation into them. And I was really upset because I was like, Okay, now you guys gon na issue try to issue a check. And she's like, Well, technically its SunTrust is money to what you have to do, make a big stink about it and contact the person who wrote the check. So, when I left, I came back to where I'm residing at at this time. I realized that when I went on XXXX, and I realized the home location is in XXXX, Georgia, that's where the headquarters were So I realized like, this is what's going on. The problem is, if there was a question about who I was, I wouldn't have been cleared to cash a check for {$28000.00} for a brand new XXXX they would have put an apb on the car I still have. this isn't a question of who I am. I am suspecting this is correlated with other unlawful practices I aided in catching the state of Georgia in. The didn't even give me three days to get info into them The arent talking to me over the phone and they didn't even explain to the bankers on what happened they are confused like me ( off-record the bankers at the XXXX location put in a complaint on my behalf ) higher ups just called today at XXXX pm called and I called them back but the location told me the account was already closed.

Consumer Complaint: I obtained a copy of my credit report and found that two companies were incorrectly reporting me as being delinquent on accounts that have already been paid off. I wrote both companies detailed letters addressing these errors and asked them to correct them. Company # 1 made the necessary corrections. Company # 2 has refused to correct the errors stating, " Based on the research, we have determined the account is being reported accurately to the consumer reporting agencies and will continue to be reported in the current manner. '' I have written several letters to Company # 2, made multiple phone calls, and even contacted the XXXX XXXX XXXX, yet nothing has changed.
