Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: Truist purchased my mortgage from guarenteed rate on XXXX XXXX the day I paid guarenteed rate. They immediately reported my account delinquent to the credit bureaus instead of waiting the 60 day window for me to sort out where the payment was to make sure I did not double pay. I was told by a truist representative that the late payment report was based on an accounting error by truist : their system says they have owned my mortgage for months longer than they actually have. However no matter how many times I call I can not get to anybody who can actually fix the problem, they just submit support tickets endlessly. This should be a simple dispute since they are supposed to wait 60 days, but the credit bureau dispute I filed was not successful.

Issue: Getting a loan or lease
Subissue: Fraudulent loan
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, I receive a voicemail from Sheffield Financial calling to verify my identity in regards to a loan request they received in my name. Upon calling the number back, the Sheffield Financial representative informed me that someone applied for a loan with them using my information at a store called XXXX XXXX in XXXX, TX. The representative noted the individual ( s ) made the loan request in person and had provided my full name, address and social security number. However, the fraudster provided the incorrect city when giving my address, which caused suspicion. The representative assured me that Sheffield Financial will decline the loan request. I called XXXX XXXX shortly thereafter and spoke with the store manager, XXXX. XXXX informed me that two individuals came into his store earlier in the day claiming to be me and applied for a loan to purchase a XXXX recreational vehicle, which are in excess of {$50000.00}. XXXX was empathetic to my situation and provided their local sheriff department 's contact information. He also noted that he would try to get the fraudsters back into the store tomorrow, XX/XX/XXXX, in hopes of having them arrested.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX I applied for a Personal Loan in XXXX. At next day the company called me for an interview, I requested on the call for a person who speaks XXXX, because my XXXX is not fluent. They said that they don't have any person who speaks XXXX, so I spoke with her interviewer. My first disappointment was when she asked me for my XXXX XXXX, when I clearly marked on the Loan Application that I am a XXXX XXXX. They requested by email proof of my income and again proof of my XXXX XXXX. Against my will I sent a copy of my XXXX XXXX. Two hours later I received an email with a deny notice of my loan application, saying that they are " unable to verify information on application '' and " insufficient income and/or assets for loan amount requested ''. My income is more than enough for the personal loan that I requested. With this being said, this case seems as a case of XXXX and XXXX towards us because we are XXXX. Please I ask to the CFPB to do a certain investigation in this company. ( My credit score is XXXX and I will submit a document showing proof of my credit score ).

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Fees charged for closing account
Consumer Complaint: I visited my Truist branch on XXXX and closed out my checking account. About a week later I received a letter that the closed account had a balance of {$36.00}. This is the first problem which should not have occurred. Truist should have alerted me that the account would be in the red after I closed it. However, I decided not to pursue this problem and had someone drop off a check for the {$36.00} at the same branch to settle everything. This check was cashed on XXXX. About 2 months later I received a letter from Truist XXXXecovery Department which claims that I owe {$56.00} on my closed account. This is the second problem, and I find it even more upsetting than the first. There had been no communication from Truist informing me of another balance. The XXXX letter does not provide an explanation for this so-called charge-off account fee. I have sent an email to my Truist branch but have received no response. I have also called the Truist Recovery Department twice. Although this line says I would receive a call-back within XXXX hours, I have heard nothing.

Consumer Complaint: Talked to a truist rep today and she could not explain why my escrow to my new payments will be {$1300.00} for principal & interest and {$480.00} for property insurance making my monthly payments {$1700.00} monthly. She was telling me about my home insurance being part of my escrow which is not true, that is not part of the escrow being part of the mortgage payments. Property values are reported to XXXX XXXX assessment company by the mortgage company for yearly payments. You reported my property description as a lot size of XXXX worth of XXXX and the size of my land is XXXX. Why I am paying property taxes for a property worth {$370000.00}? {$480.00} come to XXXX in property taxes yearly. My monthly payments should be {$1300.00} plus {$280.00} x XXXX = {$3400.00} property taxes yearly and no shortages, in fact, some should be in a suspense account, for my property taxes should just be {$3100.00} yearly. You stated that you were taking too much of property taxes out and you had reanalyzed my payments to {$1600.00} back in 2020 now you want to bring it back up to {$1700.00} monthly, am I making monthly mortgage payments to my VA account or to XXXX of your account holders with a XXXX car garage last name XXXX.
