Consumer Complaint: this is the 3rd time informing you guys of Truist ways they have now closed my account because of fraud done on my account that I did not even have a bank card for, every transaction i had to transfer from one account to another until XX/XX/XXXX i transferred money and they made the account look as if i was able to withdraw from an account i never received a card for. Trust owes me over {$700.00} for allowing XXXX to take money out of my account where they refused ot dispute the transactions they owe me {$600.00} in claims for fraud done on my account in XXXX and XX/XX/2023 and they owe me for disputes that they never disputed such as XXXX, and other transactions ... they denied all three claims that where fraud, yet truist even had he incorrect claim amounts which shows they did not investigate this properly and they need to be audited by another dept because they have taken my money and showed they have need to refund my money ... .or they will face

Issue: Trouble during payment process

Consumer Complaint: My mortgage company Truist, submitted an insufficient payment of city property taxes for the year of XXXX. The amount due was XXXX but only XXXX was paid for that year, on XX/XX/XXXX, for city property taxes. I noticed but was not concerned at the time and eventually it slipped my mind. This mishap in payment by the mortgage company resulted in penalties in interest, of XXXX, that the mortgage company have passed to me but they should be responsible for, as the escrow account I have is for the purpose of them paying the taxes. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from the mortgage company informing me of the unpaid payment of taxes and that they are not responsible for supplemental tax payments, but the bill would be paid from my escrow to protect the property from a tax XXXX. I called them to understand what exactly this statement meant as this was not a supplemental tax bill but an insufficient tax payment that is the result of their partial payment. I received the tax bill for XXXX that listed the XXXX amount due in XXXX of XXXX and called my local tax collectors office to confirm the amount due was never amended for any reason and there was not a supplemental addition to the taxes. They confirmed the amount was never amended and that that was always the bill total it was just not fully paid by the mortgage company. I called the mortgage company to dispute them passing the penalties and interest to me and they are unwilling as they are saying the tax payment is supplemental without any proof. I have gone over all the bills with them verifying that it was not supplemental and they are unwilling to remove these charges from my account. I have no recourse in trying to pursued them to do what is right and take responsibility for the partial payment that was their mistake. I have presented all of the proof to them and they refuse. I have attached the Truist notice of unpaid tax bill - It is labelled as XXXX but it is from XXXX I have attached the XXXX tax bill from XXXX of XXXX- It is noted in the bill that there are taxes due for other years in the amount of XXXX. I have included the tax bill for XXXX - that shows the only partial payment of XXXX when XXXX was due. I have attached the notice from city of XXXX of the unpaid amount due from XXXX of XXXX including penalties and fees. I will also show the high level ledger of taxes and payment of those taxes from XXXX, which also shows the partial payment and history of payments since I acquired the home in XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Truist bank is saying I have an account with them and i do not! it looks like the account was actually opened up with light stream in 2020. I asked them to send me a copy of the contract which they did and the signature of both me and my husband that they have recorded are not ours. I do not recognize this account. This is not my account, we never opened up this account we never used the funds. The account is negatively reporting on our credit. I have told the company several times we do not recognize this account. Its fraud. They continue to ignore us. I would like this closed and remove from our report since it is not ours.

Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX, we applied to Truist Bank for a conventional loan to buy a new condo unit. We had a locked-in rate and the loan had provisional approval and then a closing disclosure. Although we had sold our current condo and had cash in hand for a 50 % downpayment, Truist notified us THE DAY BEFORE SETTLEMENT of a delay in the loan. Truist then continued to issue a series of delaying closing statements. This put us in a very difficult situation with the sellers, and we had to reschedule the settlement and pay penalties. When it appeared that Truist delays and lack of transparency would cause us to also miss a second settlement date, we looked for an alternate lender. That lender gave us a loan within 10 business days, while Truist continued on for a total of 76 days until a final denial was received by snail mail. Unfortunately for us, interest rates had gone up in that time, so we were the losers. Our complaint to Truist resulted in only a small refund of the appraisal fee and " regret '' for our stress and frustration.

Consumer Complaint: Truist bank has charged me {$390.00} in overdraft fees in the past 2-weeks which has hindered my ability to keep my employees and meet payroll. Our work volume decreased by 90 % because of the feds rate hikes. I deposited enough money to cover the drafts but the way they apply fees kept my balance in the negative allowing more overdraft fees to be charged.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX I have to say that since Suntrust and XXXX merged, there is no customer service. What you get when you call is someone at home sending emails for supervisors to call you back, witch dos not happen. Mail that dos not get mailed or recived, " Its the post office " im told. OR Just a pain " I DONT KNOW '' Im the supervisor, I work in a XXXX XXXX, then im working form home " so there is XXXX to fix the issue, " would you like to make a payment??? No service for anything ecept making a payment. I have sumitted on more than XXXX time over the past XXXX months a request on paper that is provided by my servicer, so I can pay my homowner insurance on my home like I have in the past ( past serverers ) .they cant find it.. They have dubble paid when I have allready paid for the insurance in full, and they have the proof of covargae, but the " Auto Pay " works even thou im all ready paid in full. Last yr they paid for a XXXX policy when exsisting covarge was on the home at the time they made the payment. The paperwork they say they dont have is a Escro waiver for insurance. Im not able to contact thet escro dept directly. Im told it gets revied then uploaded to my account.This never happens. They add $ $ to my payment each month for escro that is not needed. I filed a complaint with the holder XXXX XXXX and was directed here also. The fees added to my monthy bills are unfair and not needed. In XXXX years my loan has been sold XXXX times? This company TRUIST is the worst. I never late on my payments, in fact im a month a head as of now. But im now forsed to remove Truist my my accounts untill this is fixed XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX 2022, I was contacted by Truist Bank ( recent consolidation of Suntrust and BB & T Banks ) and informed I was in six months arrears with my car loan payments. My initial vehicle loan was via Suntrust Bank in XXXX 2020, at the time of my vehicle purchase. From the time of my vehicle loan in XX/XX/XXXX2020 to XXXX 2022, I was ahead on my monthly payments. At times, I was doubling my monthly payments. Every month during this time period, I was receiving notices from Suntrust Bank that I was ahead in my loan payments. However, in XXXX 2022, the automatic draft payment did not happen. Thus, sent my account into arrears. According to Truist Bank, the automatic payments didn't draft for XXXX and XXXX, but miraculously re-activated in XXXX 2022.To my knowledge, the drafts were happening, and I was not notified of the arrears until XX/XX/XXXX2022 via US Postal Service letter regarding owing Truist Bank on my vehicle loan. When I spoke with the supervisor, he cited a D.C. statute ( he could not cite the specific codes, but cited Congresswoman XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX bill which recently became law ) which in essence, states ( and I'm paraphrasing ) that Truist Bank would be fined {$10000.00} for harassment for contacting me as a District of Columbia resident regarding my bill. I responded that this made absolutely no sense. If they had checked my account, they would see I had not been in default nor late with my payments. As a result, Truist Bank could not contact me because of this " recent legislation. '' I asked the supervisor how is it that in light of this " legislation, '' I was contacted via letter in XX/XX/XXXX2022 and not in XXXX 2022 when the first payment didn't post? Silence. I also asked the supervisor if perhaps the Truist Bank 's conversion software from Suntrust/BB & T Banks to Truist Bank may have been the culprit in the interruption of my payments. The merger of the two banks on the part of the information systems have been horrific according to national and banking news reports. Lastly, I called Congresswoman XXXX 's office to find out about this " DC statute '' because I couldn't find a record of it. Her staffer couldn't cite the statute and suggested I submit a complaint with CFPB.

Consumer Complaint: I made a deposit of XXXX from one bank account to another by writing a check and using mobile deposit on XX/XX/XXXX. I make this same transaction often. Truist has put a hold on it and will not release funds until XX/XX/XXXX. I called the issuing bank ( this is a money market account through XXXX XXXX via XXXX XXXX XXXX ). They have debited the funds from that account and see no reason for it to be held. They said it looks like a normal transaction. I tried calling Truist. Their customer service agent didn't seem to understand the question and tried to explain that funds were available the next day. When I explained there was a hold on it, he put me on hold and after 5mins they hung up on me. They seem to be unable to explain why there is a hold and no funds have been released.
