Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Consumer Complaint: I purchased a car in XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. I moved to XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, and registered the car with the XXXX state. I changed my address with the XXXX DMV multiple times. In XX/XX/XXXX, I paid off the car. I contacted TD Finance to get my title, but they kept telling me that the XXXX DMV is not releasing it due to " unfinished transferring process ''. I contacted XXXX DMV and they stated that my transfer/address changed was done correctly, and there is nothing for me to do, TD Auto finance needs to release the lien so they can send me a new title. I contacted TD Finance again, and they insist that the XXXX DMV needs me to finish the process and won't release my title, and continue to hang up on me every time I try to get them to resolve the issue. It's been close to 8 months since I paid off the car, and I am still unable to get my title.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Can't close your account
Consumer Complaint: I want to close my checking account with TD Bank. I have tried numerous times to get my money out of the account. The latest instance, I called the bank to reactivate the account. After a lengthy time on the phone, the representative told me they reactivated the account and that I must make a transaction in order to keep it active. Afterwards, when I logged into my account to make a transaction I discovered I was restricted from making any transactions including bill payments and transfers to my other bank accounts. I emailed the bank, asking them to close my account and send me a check for the account balance. They sent me a message directing me to send them a signed and notarized letter. I am not going to do that. I want my money returned to me immediately! This bank 's actions are outrageous. They do not have the right to keep my money.

Consumer Complaint: I recently arrived at a settlement with TD Bank regarding reinstatement of my mortgage account. Throughout the duration of the legal proceedings, I was being charged with " late payments '' on my credit report as well as with a foreclosure mark as well. After the settlement, the foreclosure mark was removed but the late payments are still on my account. I was ready to begin paying my mortgage from the beginning of this entire ordeal at the mortgage rate in which we settled on eventually despite the legal proceedings. TD bank was solely responsible for not accepting my payments due to inefficiencies on their part and I do not believe that I deserve to be continuously penalized for something I could not control ( ability to make payments ). I respectfully demand that all late payments be stricken from my credit report immediately in order to prevent further financial hardship on the consumer. Please feel free to contact myself or my attorney if you require any information which you do not already have access to. Thank you, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: 1- I went into my local branch of TD Bank at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Ma XXXX and asked if there was a loan program that I could borrow {$500.00} to help build my credit. The bank manager, XXXX XXXX, took an application-when I got outside I saw the amount was for $ XXXX-I went back inside and questioned that and was told - '' oh don't worry it was for {$500.00}. ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I do know that the Subscriber Code number of the loan is XXXX and the TNAL CPM number is XXXX ( whatever that means ) 2. I went back the next day and asked for a copy of the loan application from XXXX and was told once the application is sent over the internet she could not get it. 3. I called customer service XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and asked them if that was true and they did not know but told me the minimum for a loan was {$5000.00}! I was very upset because if I had know this ( and the bank Manager should have known never to take an application in the minimum to ask for was {$5000.00} ) I would have never applied! ) Now of course this was denied as I was asking for {$500.00} - plus she requested {$1200.00} -- -which she won't show me! Customer service sent me a form -- Consumer Credit Report Report Form as I wanted to dispute the fact that a hard copy of my credit report should have never been requested as it lowered my credit score by 8 valuable points as the loan should have never been taken as I was given totally incorrect information. 4. I sent the report out to TD Bank XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ME XXXX ( I have a copy ) on XX/XX/XXXX. 5. I hadn't heard from them by mid XX/XX/XXXX and for some reason I received a random email from TD Bank asking me how I like TD Bank ... so I explained 1-4 above! 6. Within a few weeks, I received a phone call from a Miss XXXX XXXX, who never gave me her professional title, but told me she was in charge of many banks in my area and would get to the bottom of this. Her phone # XXXX email XXXX and the only address I have is c/o TD Bank c/o XXXX XXXX, XXXX MA XXXX XXXX. On or about XX/XX/XXXX Ms. XXXX called me and stated on of her workers had sent a letter to XXXX - stating that there was a misunderstanding at TD Bank and the loan applications should not have been taken and could they fix my credit report and remove their hard inquiry. 8. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX TX XXXX ) and asked if they received the letter from TD Bank or is it at least pending? The rep checked and informed me they have not received any letter in the past 60 days The rep informed me the best way to do anything was for me to ask TD Bank for a copy of that letter and for me to dispute thru XXXX and attach that letter as proof. 9. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Ms. XXXX and told her the above ... she informed me that under Federal Regulations she is not allowed to give me that letter! I do not understand why? Can you please try to help me? This has been going on for 6 months and I really need to get those 8 points back on my credit report. TD bank was wrong in taking that application and I was given incorrect information. Thank you in advance

Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, an unknown individual gain access to me and my sons joint account. This said individual then write a check for {$250.00} in his name and sent check to himself. On XX/XX/XXXX when my son went to use his bank card all his funds were gone. We immediately call TD bank and they help us change accounts and everything. We filled a dispute and had to wait 15 days. On XX/XX/XXXX I realized that they denied the claim, said I needed a police report. So I went to my local police station and filed a police report. Not to much they can do being this individual lived in South Carolina and we live in New Jersey. So I tool that to bank and refilled a police report. 15 days later was denied again. Fraud department later said I needed to try to file a police report in South Carolina, so I did. South Carolina police said this individual was a known criminal and they arrested him. I took TD bank that police report as well. Then fraud department said I needed an affidavit of fraudulent charges on my account that had to be notarized. Did that, now we into XXXX fighting with td about this money. In XX/XX/XXXX I filed my last dispute and was denied by them saying, hey we see that you didn't do this and this person did but there is nothing we can do for you because we don't know how he got into your account.
