Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: My credit card was stolen on or about XX/XX/XXXX ; upon learning of this situation I immediately contacted TD Card Services and reported my XXXX XXXX Client Rewards Visa credit card stolen on the same day of XX/XX/XXXX. TD Bank Services assigned this as case # XXXX. TD Card Services closed my account immediately to prevent further unauthorized charges and mailed me a new card ending in XXXX. TD Card Services said I would not be liable for any unauthorized charges which is pursuant to their terms and agreement. During the call, TD Card Services identified two unauthorized transactions of {$230.00} and {$230.00} made on XX/XX/XXXX, the same day my wallet was reported stolen to them. These two transactions were the only two identified as unauthorized and the bank assured me this is protected by their zero fraud liability protection since I had reported my wallet stolen promptly. I received a letter dated, XX/XX/XXXX stating that no billing error occurred and that I was responsible for the charges. I did not receive any type of proof documentation by TD Card Services supporting the reason for their decision. I immediately called TD Card Services ( XXXX ) and was told that " since no more attempt to charge the card was made after XX/XX/XXXX ; they therefore assume the charges as valid '', this is the most absurd reason I have ever heard. The reason TD Card Services has given me to support their validity of the charges does not make sense and lacks any type of credibility and logic. I know for a fact that the bank is in violation of its terms and agreements and also in violation of federal law for re-posting these charges which are clearly fraudulent as a result of my wallet being stolen. The bank has not presented any paperwork evidence to support their position which is unacceptable on all levels.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: I have a Checking account with TD Bank, and on XX/XX/XXXX I had funds in the amount of XXXX dollars in the account. On that same day a check was debited out of my account for XXXX, and a pending transaction for {$48.00} leaving XXXX in the account. On XX/XX/XXXX funds were debited out of my account for XXXX dollars, which of course sent the account into overdraft which I understand. An over draft was assessed to the account on XX/XX/XXXX and I then deposited XXXX dollars into the account on XX/XX/XXXX. Now this is where it gets interesting, also on XX/XX/XXXX that same fee for XXXX dollars that was PENDING and already debited out of my account is posted and TD charges an overdraft fee for this! So I am being charged an overdraft fee 2x for the same transaction, or being charged for what I see as incredibly unfair lending practices. To rehash XXXX is the amount in the account and a rent check comes out for XXXX, and there is a pending charge of XXXX, leaving me with XXXX dollars roughly. Then XXXX is debited out of the account and I am XXXX dollars in the negative, thus a XXXX dollar overdraft. However, immediately after this TD now fully recognizes the XXXX dollar charge which was pending and Overdrafts me again. What TD did was hold the XXXX, so when the XXXX was withdrawn I became overdrawn and was assessed a XXXX dollar fee. Then TD no longer holds the XXXX and even though the funds were already accounted for I get another charge how this possible? If this XXXX dollar charge was debited out of my account and is what caused the XXXX debit to be a negative balance, then how can it also be added to my account in NAME only and I be charged again???

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I added XXXX XXXX as a new payee to my automatic bill pay on my TD checking account. I schedule monthly payments of {$2800.00} to pay my mortgage to XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX TD Bank paid XXXX XXXX XXXX {$2800.00} which I saw on my mobile app. I called TD to report the error. I was told by TD customer service that XXXX XXXX was not a payee in my bill pay which I confirmed on my mobile app. I spent an hour on the phone which ended in TD Bank saying there is nothing they could do to retrieve my money. I was instructed to call XXXX & XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX confirmed I have a {$2800.00} credit on my account but said they can not return my money. They instructed me to call TD Bank. On XX/XX/XXXX TD Bank said there was no system error on their part. And they said customer service was wrong during our phone call on XX/XX/XXXX. I was told that XXXX XXXX is a payee in my bill pay and has been since XX/XX/XXXX. And they repeated that no error occurred. This part concerns me most because it appears to be a lie. XXXX is STILL NOT showing as a payee on my account. I have screen shots to prove that XXXX XXXX is still not there as of XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I think there was definitely a system error on TDs part and now they are lying about what they have discovered in order to cover up the problem. In the meantime, I still need the {$2800.00} that XXXX XXXX XXXX has refused to return in order to pay mortgage.

Consumer Complaint: Target RedCard promised to delete my account once I paid it off. They broke this promise and the information on my credit report is still there. I have tried calling this department, but the agents are rude, laugh at me, and hang up on me. Very terrible customer service and a terrible representation of Target Stores.

Subissue: Banking errors
Consumer Complaint: This is not a duplicate. On XX/XX/2019 I tried to open an account with TD Bank due to their advertising a {$300.00} promotion for new customers. I had never before had a bank account with TD Bank. I was unable to complete the account opening due to problems with TD Bank 's web site. On XX/XX/XXXX I again tried to open an account with TD Bank and was successful. When I logged in to the account, it showed that my first attempt to open an account had in fact worked, although there was no way for me to know that. As there were now two open accounts, I asked TD Bank to close one of the accounts, and complied with the requirements to receive the bonus. TD refuses to pay me my {$300.00} bonus because they say that I was not a " new '' customer when I opened the XX/XX/XXXX account, due to the XX/XX/XXXX account being ( unknown to me ) open. I opened the account specifically in response to their ad for the bonus, and complied with the spirit of the requirements to receive the bonus. It is ridiculous for TD to claim that I was not a " new '' customer because of the XX/XX/XXXX account of which I was unaware and which was never funded and had no transactions.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: I was a victim of identity theft and person used information to open a Raymor Flannigan card and purchased furniture with some of my information. I disputed this account and purchase with XXXX card service and was cleared by their fraud division. They sent a letter and had the account removed from my credit and provided a copy I have as well. I saw on my credit report a collection agency by the name of XXXX XXXX XXXX and have disputed this with them directly. I was advised that I should fax in the information from the fraudulent Raymour Flannigan card clearing my name and they would review it. I faxed the documents about 4 times and they never received them. I later delt with a representative by the name of XXXX XXXX who had my email them the documents to review. I later followed up with XXXX who told me these document are not debt they are collecting even though the amounts are the same. He later told me he was requesting a file from the company directly. My complaint is I was cleared of this Debt and the company most likely purchased this debt from Raymour Flannigan or was hired in an attempt to collect on a debt I was cleared from.
