Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020, I did receive an e-mail from TD Bank ( XXXX XXXX ) saying my checking account was in a lower balance on it. By XXXXXXXX XXXX. I did make a transfer from my savings account to fix that, nevertheless, on XX/XX/XXXX they charged my checking account with a {$35.00} fee because of an overdraft. I do have a linked account, a direct deposit and if it's wasn't enough, some lawmakers did suggest institutions like banks do not charge any fee during these difficult times of pandemic. Please, take note that the time between the transaction wasn't more than 20 minutes.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX three ( 3 ) Fraudulent charges were debited to my checking account via debit card account. I did not authorize in anyway these charges and alerted TD Bank that these 3 charges are fraudulent and put in dispute. Charges were {$260.00} XXXX {$500.00} XXXX {$300.00} XXXX XXXX. I have held account at original Bank XXXX since XXXX which then later was purchased by TD Bank. I had been a customer for 14 years. I personally went to a TD Bank branch and submitted Claim. Subsequently the claim was denied and TD Bank representatives asked if I wanted to re-file claim which I did 5 times since initial claim and each time claim was denied.. Denial reason was TD Bank confirmed reaching out to Merchants and the merchants confirmed chip card was used. I advised each time impossible because I was in possession of Card and indicated that TD Bank re-review my statements because the statements indicated the card in my possession was used in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX by me on the same date XX/XX/XXXX, paying for Hotel and getting Cash from an ATM. I was not in the United States to make such transactions. On the XXXX dispute submission I was instructed that I should get a police report which I did and was given to TD Bank in XX/XX/XXXX. Dispute was then denied again.. TD Bank sent me notices and closed my accounts in XXXX, XXXX. In the interim I reached out to all 3 merchants, XXXX responded by sending notice that TD Bank is only authorized to settle dispute and refused to provide details and XXXX, no response. XXXX did follow-up and I received notices from the Executive offices as XXXX researched and advised me TD Bank had never contacted XXXX in reference to this Claim and upon review determined indeed it was a fraudulent charge.. XXXX returned the funds to TD Bank but having closed my account I was not contacted advising funds had been returned. I was not aware so when I called XXXX at the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX it was advised to me the funds were returned and TD Bank made me get a reference number to find funds at TD Bank. TD Bank then returned in cash to me those funds but denied any reasonable correlation to XXXX for the XXXX and XXXX charges and advised me they would not return and if I wanted to pursue further I should seek legal means..

Consumer Complaint: I had a commercial account with TD Bank under the name of XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, VA. About one year ago I tried to use my debit card to make a deposit and I found out I was locked out of my account. When I went in to complain I was informed that I would be hearing from the fraud department. After many visits to the bank and sending emails to them through their online system I have never received a response. In the mean time I was unable to use my account and they continued to drain it for monthly service charges. Finally i received a letter from the bank telling me they were going to turn my account over to a collection agency for being overdrawn. When I call ed the number on the letter they informed me that they could not do anything because I did not have my debit card any longer. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they informed me that they would see if he would talk to me. After 5 minutes they hung up. I went to my branch to get the number of my account only to find out that the branch is closed because of the virus. I found a number for the branch and called it and they told me that they would look into it. The called me back and told me that they dropped asking the debt collection to not bother me and said they were going to close my account. I asked why and they could not give me any answer. Can you please look into this and tell me what happen and why their fraud department never got back to me.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I had fraudulent activities on my debit card. I called TD bank to make them aware that I did not make those charges. They told me that I had to wait for the charges to be posted to my account in order for them to dispute them. Their 3rd party fraud department contacted me to let me know that these people are still trying to pull money from my account and asked if I wanted them to block the charges and I told them yes. On the 14th the charges posted and the bank filed a dispute. My account went into - {$90.00} and then I was charged an overdraft fee of {$35.00} which put my account into - {$120.00}. I transferred {$270.00} to my account from XXXX XXXX. When I transferred that money because of the negative balance it took the {$120.00} from the {$270.00} to balance my account. Now today on the XXXX my account was credited the amount that was fraudulent of {$310.00} and the overdraft fee was not credited and the balance from my {$270.00} was not credited. I called the bank and they are rudely telling me that they do not owe me any money.

Consumer Complaint: I was listed as an authorized user on an account, ( TD Bank credit card ), in order to help a woman who was physically unable to do her own shopping or fill her prescriptions. Now, years later, I find {$21000.00} in charge-offs for that card showing up on my credit report and damaging my business credit. I was never an account holder, simply an authorized user. Disputed with no results.

Issue: Closing on a mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I had applied to do a refinance via TD Bank of my current mortgage. Throughout the process with TD Bank I experienced so many issues with the quality of service that at the closing I decided to cancel my application and sent them a request to rescind by XX/XX/2020. By XX/XX/2020 they told me that they had accepted my request to rescind. But in XXXX I received a mortgage statement from TD Bank saying that they transferred XXXX dollars out my escrow account into their escrow account and that I was due the first payment. So now I have two mortgages, my current mortgage which was never paid as I cancelled the refinance, and a new mortgage with TD Bank. My credit score has gone down 12 points because of the extended financing out there ( twice as much of what I had before due to their mistake ). I've contact TD Bank multiple times and they just tell me they're looking into it and someone will get back to me. It's now almost 2 weeks and so far nothing has been corrected. I'm so regretful for started anything with TD Bank.
