Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2020 I made a XXXX payment. Either target or I selected and inactive bank account. It was returned. Target froze the account and removed automatic payments without my knowledge. This resulted in a missed payment in XXXX which I only found out when I ran my credit report. I called and and asked what happened. They said that their system did not present the wrong account and that they mailed a notice. The problem is that mail was not being delivered due to Covid. I have been their customer for many years and have never missed a payment. I have since payed the entire account. This seems wrong to me.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a XXXX delivery of 2 home security cameras from XXXX XXXX. The shipping label contained my home phone #. I did not place this order. I called the customer service # on the packing slip. They wanted to know my email address and said that it did not match the email address that they had for the order. All other info matched : name, address, home phone. They instructed me to call TD Bank Retail Card Services as they have a financing partnership with them. I called and was prompted for last 4 digits of my SSN. The system stated balance due of {$130.00} ( the cost of the cameras ) with remaining credit of {$4000.00}. I requested a service rep and waited on hold for 6 hours with no answer. My husband sent assistance request message on XXXX XXXX. No response. I called again on XX/XX/XXXX and on XX/XX/XXXX was placed on hold for several hours on both days. I called TD Bank retail branch on XX/XX/XXXX and again on XX/XX/XXXX and was advised that TD Retail Card Services was a separate entity and branch has no access to this info. They told me to keep trying the customer service # for TD Retail Card Services. I checked my Experian credit report which shows a hard inquiry on XXXX for TD Retail Card Services. My credit reports from XXXX and XXXX do not show the same inquiry. The package was shipped on XX/XX/XXXX. I filed a police report with my local Police department on XX/XX/XXXX. Identity Theft Report ( # XXXX ) was also filed with FTC on XX/XX/XXXX.

Issue: Problem when making payments

Subissue: Problem during payment process

Consumer Complaint: I have a Target XXXX XXXX which is their credit card. At one point, I had 2 linked checking accounts for online payments. I closed one account last year and removed it from my linked accounts. I have been making regular online payments with my linked account since then. Last week on the XXXX and XXXX, I made 2 online payments. I got notified, yesterday, that one payment was returned as NSF. I called the only line that helps with XXXX issues, which is based overseas. The agent insisted I made a payment with the old checking account even though he admitted I only have the current account linked. They would not admit they had some glitch that caused the malfunction. Today, I logged onto my app and found a second payment, on the XXXX, had been returned. I called the same number and a supervisor blatantly accused me of using the old closed account to try to pay the balance. I have tried 5 other numbers and an online chat only to be sent to the same overseas customer service They have all admitted I have only the active account linked but insist I am the one magically making the old account be submitted. I did no wrongdoing and am adamant that I should not be paying return fees for this since I did not even have the option of selecting this old account in my payment options. It seems like a scam and Target is employing customer service agents that are promoting fraud. They know I couldn't have done this but are penalizing me because they don't want to find out how this is happening when it shouldn't be.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement

Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card

Consumer Complaint: Hi, Sir/Madam : I have a TD band Visa credit card numbered XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and I found the below three transactions are not recognized : XX/XX/2020 XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2020 XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX XXXX NM XXXX NM XX/XX/2020 XXXX XXXX XXXX VA {$50.00} So I called TD bank for above fraud charges, because I never went to New Mexico to buy anything with this card since the COVID -19 travel restriction and TD bank closed this account immediately on XXXX, and I got the new card on XXXX. I called TD bank to on XXXX to learn whether I have the temporary credit for above three transactions, but TD bank employee, XXXX works at the Dispute Department, told me that it is not guaranteed d to have the temporary credit. I replied that when your company closed my credit card and informed me that I will have the temporary credit since I paid above charges. And per government regulation : For your credit card, it can take longer, but you dont have to pay the charge while its under investigation. But she told me that she can only memo our conversation but she cant issue the temporary credit into my account. That is not right because bank should issue the temporary credit during the investigation, if bank provided those charges with my signature, they can charge it back into my account. But they are unwilling to do so. Thus, I have to submit my complaint online to get your help and your understanding and efforts will be highly appreciated! VR XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX : XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers

Subissue: Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX I purchased a XXXX smartphone from XXXX ( directly form them online as opposed to going to a XXXX store ) and signed up for the XXXX payment plan ( XXXX fixed payments of {$54.00} XXXX. The phone was supposed to be paid off after the last payment in XX/XX/XXXX. Then I noticed ... a couple of months later that TD Bank ( the bank servicing the credit account for XXXX? ) keeps drawing $ XXXX XXXX XXXX/ month ( the amount varied ) when I called TD Bank in XXXX of XXXX to ask why they keep taking money from my account the person on the phone said something about some back fees and that I was actually paying for 24 months slightly less than what I was supposed to ( the payments were not up to my discretion - they were set with XXXX 's offer and I agreed to pay a fixed payment of $ XXXX month -- when you do the math those XXXX payments of {$54.00} were the cost of the phone ). As the amount was about {$200.00} and I was not interested in trying to dig out the papers from XXXX I offered the person on the phone to pay this amount at once and be done with it. She was firm that this can not be paid off over the phone and I will need to make an appointment at a branch of TD Bank to get this resolved. As I was not able to do that I decided to keep paying it off until today when I saw my annual credit report and saw that the {$200.00} balance is now at {$220.00} somehow even when I pay it off it increases ( BTW the payments of $ XXXX month were not authorized nor defined by me ). I called again and escalated the matter to a supervisor which after being threatened with me contacting the CFPB said that the account can be paid over the phone and can be closed over the phone. I think that there are more people like me that are being taken advantage of and I am interested in you investigating the matter and eventually refunding me the hundreds of dollars I was overcharged for. Issue: Took or threatened to take negative or legal action

Subissue: Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged

Consumer Complaint: Recently, I was contacted by TD Bank about a checking account I used to have with them. To my shock, they told me that I had an outstanding deficiency balance over {$800.00}. I told them that I did not know how that was even possible, and asked them to send me some kind of account detail to show how they arrived at that figure. I have yet to receive the requested information. Furthermore, they told me that if I did not pay it in full within a few days, they were going to send that balance to a collection agency, and it would hurt my credit scores. To try to avoid that from happening, I offered to make small payments towards the debt until we could get it all sorted out, however the TD Bank representative told me that they could only accept payment in full, otherwise they would be sending it out to a collection agency to damage my credit. I was shocked that they offered no other solution for me, especially in the middle of a pandemic. Our income has been affected by the Covid crisis, and its hard enough to just keep the lights on ; much less pay out $ XXXX at one time to a bank that will not even show me how they are arriving at the balance they are trying to correct.

Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals

Consumer Complaint: There was an issue two weeks ago where my TD Bank account was suspended. I filed a CFPB complaint and was able to resolve the account suspension, whereas I am able to access my accounts again. Now there is an issue where the bank is using different terms for me personally than what is stated on their web site regarding the checking bonus offered to the public. They are making different terms just for me. First some additional background on this. When I first reached out to TD Bank, a local banker changed my account type without my permission. I had a question whether because of the account type changed ( from " XXXX '' to " XXXX '' and back to " XXXX '' again ) whether the promotions that I am eligible for and was enrolled in when I opened the accounts would be affected. I waiting 10 days for a response from the " Promotions '' department to ensure that my accounts would still eligible for the bonus promotions due to the unauthorized account type change made by a local TD Bank branch. We also needed to ask for an extension of the funding period for the Savings account since my account was suspended for several days ( which was granted ). Here is the offer from the bank : https : XXXX The terms clearly state that based on my circumstances that I would be eligible for the {$300.00} checking account bonus. What I am being told by the bank now is that I do not qualify for the checking account promotion, even though there is nothing in the terms that would exclude me. The reply from the bank where they claim that my account is ineligible : Hey, The previous account you held is the reason they are not honoring the checking. It may have been more than 12 months ago but, they are still counting it. I provided the last four digits of the old checking account number in the previous response. -XXXX -- This is different than what the terms state : Offer valid XX/XX/2020 through XX/XX/2020 and is available only when opening through a qualifying website. Checking offer is available to new personal checking Customers who do not have an existing or prior personal checking account at TD Bank within the preceding 12 months and complete the required qualifying criteria. {$300.00} bonus offer available to eligible new personal checking Customers when opening a TD XXXX Checking account with cumulative direct deposit funds of {$2500.00} or more into the new checking account within 60 days of account opening. {$150.00} bonus available to eligible new personal checking Customers when opening a TD XXXX XXXX account with cumulative direct deposit funds of {$500.00} or more into the new checking account within 60 days of account opening. Qualifying direct deposits include your paycheck, pension, government benefits ( such as Social Security ), or other eligible regular monthly income from your employer or the government electronically deposited into your checking account. Person-to-person and bank transfers between your TD Bank accounts or accounts you have at other financial institutions or brokerages do not qualify.

Issue: Getting a credit card

Subissue: Application denied

Consumer Complaint: I was denied the Target Redcard Credit card, my credit score is above the minimum to apply. With the denial letter they said one of the issues was credit score and then listed a false credit score, length of time accounts have been established ( which is discriminatory based on age ), and that " too few accounts have been paid as agreed '' which I have none that have to be paid off
