Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: This letter is a formal complaint that they are reporting inaccurate and incomplete credit information. I am distressed that you have included the information below in my credit profile and that you have failed to maintain reasonable procedures in your operations to assure maximum possible accuracy in the credit reports you publish. Credit reporting laws ensure that bureaus report only 100 % accurate credit information. Every step must be taken to assure the information reported is completely accurate and correct. The following information therefore needs to be re-investigated. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), you are required by federal law to verify, through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract, any and all accounts that you post on a credit report. Otherwise anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account. I demand to see verifiable proof ( i.e. : an original consumer contract with my signature on it ) that you have on file for the account listed below. Your failure to positively verify these accounts has hurt my ability to obtain credit. Under the FCRA, unverifiable accounts must be removed and if you are unable to provide me a copy of verifiable proof, you must remove the account listed below. I have contacted Target personally and they have a address on file that I have never lived nor used. This false information and address is currently on my credit report and I also am a victim of fraud. My wallet was stolen which had my social security card and Drivers License. I filed a police report and a identity theft report with the Federal Trade Commission on this matter.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: I lost my wallet on XX/XX/XXXX in Washington DC. The person who found the wallet withdrew money from my bank account at the ATM. I called the bank and froze my account and reported the fraud that occurred on the account. I also called the police and opened a claim for the lost. The bank name is TD bank, they took first of all a month to send me a card then without contacting regarding the case they denied the claim. I appealed and got denied because they said I missed their call. I decided to reappeal because I did not make these charge and need my money back. yesterday, I called the bank and asked for the case to be reopened. The lady I talked to told me that the case was lacking details and she was going to get more details from me. I re explained what happened and asked if they could work with the police and get more footage videos from the bank where the person took the money. I am very disappointed in the way they handled my case. First, my card took forever to be sent knowing that I have XXXX kids and I use my card on the daily base. Second, they did not follow up with me regarding the case or call me for more information. Also, they are denying the case base on how they are feeling about it without checking evidences on either or not the fraud occurred. Please I am writing this complaint for you to help me. I lost around XXXX dollars and that is a lot of money for a single mom. Thanks

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: We received a call from a debt collection company, XXXX XXXX XXXX, which stated that I owed an overdraft balance from TD bank. I wanted to receive documentation that validated my debt and the representative refused to answer my questions and would constantly over talk me. She stated that I did not need to have her name and was questioning why I had not paid my debt and that it would be reported to the credit reporting agency. She told me that the call was being recorded and I stressed that I would not validate any information until I received a validation of debt letter, which she refused to answer.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: Every month on the XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXX I get a {$10.00} charge from XX/XX/XXXX XXXX CA for over a year now. A year ago the charge was XXXX dollars a month, and I have 0 XXXX subscriptions I have attached this card to. With my previous credit card that has now expired, I disputed the charge with TD bank and they gave me a new card, but the charges have returned again. When researching the phone number, I have discovered that this is a common credit card scam that needs to be reported and disputed with the FTC.
