Consumer Complaint: On XXXX I deposited a cashier check from my XXXX account into my TD account. I was not made aware of a hold being placed at the time of deposit as it was a certified check governed under reg cc. On XXXX I logged into my online banking and noticed that the check was put on an extended 6 day hold. I called into customer service and they said that this was a regular check and they had the right to hold the check for 6 business days. When I informed them that this was a certified check from XXXX and per reg cc on the XXXX XXXX website item # 7 clearly states they can not legally hold a cashier check for more than 2 business days. Some verbiage around cashiers checks stated that under XXXX must be made available on the next business day. The rep put me on hold came back said the supervisor put a request in to release but it may or may not happen and the hold would have to stay on for 6 business days. I again referenced the XXXX website and provided the specific article number the rep told me I was wrong and that is not TDs policy. I asked to speak to a a supervisor who said the same thing and that TD policy supersedes that. When I stated ive worked as a branch manager for over a decade for a bank and that every bank teaches there associates about the basic rules and regs primarily XXXX XXXX the supervisor XXXX indicated that she was not going to get into legal stuff with me.

Consumer Complaint: My account was defrauded last year, I opened a fraud case and filed a police report as instructed by TD bank. The bank said they would send it to global securities and investigate the case, it has been a year and they have NEVER investigated the case, or even gotten back to me. Instead theyve attempted to eschew all responsibility and claim its not their job to investigate the case despite telling me they would do so. At this point it is negligence.

Consumer Complaint: I tried to apply for a credit card with TD, it went through but it was saying see SM for 2 weeks straight. I went in to see what was wrong and they said it was just a glitch in the bank with my account. I reapplied but then they said they are closing both accounts and didn't disclose the reasons as to why and they have not made a good faith effort for recompensation due to their negligence. I applied for this card on XX/XX/XXXX and I reported the problems to TD on the XXXX of XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I am unable to close my account and withdraw my funds from TD bank within a reasonable amount of time. In my experience trying to resolve this with TD bank, I was came across predatory practices that allow TD bank to withhold funds from customers. They have put many inconveniences, delays, and barriers that prevent customers from accessing funds in a timely manner. I wanted to close my TD bank accounts and had about {$22000.00} in there that I wanted to transfer out. I first tried to transfer the money through their website, but it said there was a 30 day rolling limit of {$5000.00}, so I called customer service to see how else I can access my funds and close the account. XXXX/XXXX/23 : I called TD bank, and explained the above situation to the representative. I asked them to close the account and issue me a check for the funds I still had in the account. They went through several inconvenient, unreasonable, and non-viable options with me : -they can only close my account if I had a zero balance. But they could not issue me a check to zero my balance because the largest check they can send is {$100.00}. -withdraw funds by going into a bank : There are no TD banks in southern california where I reside. -withdraw funds using a debit card. This is much less secure than a online transfer, especially for substantial amounts of money. -withdraw funds using a check. It takes 2 weeks to order checks, compared to minutes or days for an online transfer. -request a wire transfer from my receiving bank : I have never heard of initiating a wire transfer this way, and tried going to two different banks, both of whom where unable to do this. This wasted time and effort. XX/XX/23 : Since the wire transfer did not work, I call TD bank again to discuss other options, but was told there was nothing else they could do, and that the limits are their for my own security. The limit for external transfers from TD is {$5000.00} every 30 days. This is very low. In contrast the limit for transfers in to TD is much higher, {$20000.00}. I was told that the limit is low because my external account hadn't been connected to my TD account for more than 90 days. That is a absurdly long amount of time to withhold a customer 's funds for.
