Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I applied for a Discount Tire card online through Synchrony Bank. During their process the system attempted to send a verification code to a cell phone number I did not provide. I then called the bank and they sent me to an online system for verification of identity. That system required me to submit a five second video of myself and photos of the front and back of my Colorado state driver 's license. I then called them back and they said I was denied and they would send me a letter in 15 days as to the reasons. Since they have decided I should not be their customer I requested they delete my image and the image of my drivers license. They refused. I asked them for what business purpose they were keeping my personal information as I am not a customer. They said they could not tell me and that I could write and complain but they would not delete my personal information and implied they would keep it on file in perpetuity.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, I received a phone call from XXXX XXXX, XXXX at XXXX. I missed the call and returned it at XXXX on XX/XX/2022. When I spoke to someone, they asked if I was the " executor '' of my step-father 's estate, XXXX XXXX XXXX I am NOT, but told them that I was his step daughter. I confirmed his date of death, and they stated they were attempting a probate collection for his Sam 's Club XXXX. This card is being paid as agreed, by my mother, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX 's wife. XXXX called me as a " relative '' and tried to get me to pay the {$900.00} remaining balance by threatening a lien on my mother 's home ( which I do not live at ), and threatening to put this debt on MY CREDIT REPORT. How they received my information is a mystery, and why they are attempting to collect on a debt that is already being taken care of, is against Florida Statute. They are also in violation of XXXX XXXX. XXXX. XXXX. Pursuant to Florida Law, I am asking for a {$1000.00} resolution to their violation to be paid immediately, or I will file a formal lawsuit against the company, where legal remedy will be much higher!

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: The XXXX credit card financed by synchrony was opened by me XX/XX/XXXX. The account was closed by synchrony in XX/XX/XXXX. I received notice of the closure from a credit monitoring service. I never received notice from the financial company. I called synchrony on XX/XX/XXXX. They confirmed that the account was closed with a XXXX balance. When asked why they closed the account it was due to inactivity. When I asked why wasnt I notified of the closure the representative stated that they didnt have a letter for this scenario. I was planning on using the account to purchase furniture but hadnt been able to decide on what I wanted and the store near was not taking appointments due to a store remodel. Closing the account without knowledge would mean that I would have to reapply for an account which would adversely impact my credit score.
