Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX my mother ( XXXX and XXXX ) refinanced the mortgage the house through XXXX. This was sold to her by an aggressive mortgage broker using a interest only negative amortization loan, which I advised her not to due, because these were bad products. XX/XX/XXXX, I took title to the property and to refinance the loan. The bank ( now XXXX XXXX XXXX ) then started to return the Mortgage checks. I was then subject to foreclosure proceedings. In the midst of the mortgage market implosion. Them HAMP was made law and I met with a representative of XXXX and supplied them with all of the info that was required for a Loan Modification. When I called them back they never responded. I then received a letter offering HAMP and I faxed the info to the XXXX Office in XXXX, following up with them they advised they lost all of my paperwork. I was then advised by XXXX to send the package to their XXXX office which I did and followed up. But it was again lost. I was then served with Foreclosure papers that were fabricated by a foreclosure mill in XXXX and filed in the XXXX County XXXX Court, via an Attorney how was sued in XXXX County for filing false paperwork and was forced to cease operations. I now was being " Double Tracked, '' The interest and fees were increasing, they added on late fees and Forced Placed Homeowner 's insurance. Then everything went silent, as XXXX sold the Mortgage to Select Portfolio Services based in XXXX. Oddly enough the attorney group that was shut down earlier, then restarted their operation under a different name, XXXX XXXX XXXX. Literally the same guys. I have filed Mortgage Modification papers with SPS on 4 different occasions. Each time they ask for additional information and it is supplied. We have had at least a half dozen meetings ( Follow up Conferences as directed by the court ). This brings us to the end. I now have 45 days before the Stay on foreclosure will be lifted and the foreclosure will proceed.

Consumer Complaint: My father is a XXXX year old XXXX man. Who has a fourth grade education and grew up in rural South Carolina. Why am I telling you all this? Because I just found out that he has a mortgage for XXXX dollars, at ten percent interest. His payments are over XXXX dollars a month. He is on a fixed income, and recently fallen behind in his mortgage. I think the interest rate is highway robbery, and I think he was beguiled into refinance his house that he has been in since 1977.

Consumer Complaint: My mortgage payment for some land was {$500.00} with SPS, the payment went up to {$1300.00}, effective XX/XX/XXXX. I completed a loan modification in XX/XX/2016, sent all documents 6 different times, each time calling SPS to confirm receipt of documents. On one occasion, I call the IT to go over the application. I have spoke with numerous supervisors, staff have put me on hold for 48 minutes with no response. Each manager says I have provided all that is needed, but I then get a letter stating I did not provide enough information and to send more of the same information, after supervisors have reviewed it and approved stating that they would escalate the process. I have spoken with the ombudsman on three occasions. The last conversation was on Thursday, XX/XX/2016 and was advised that I indeed had all documents, but they will call me back. I have not received a call yet. I have emails and documentation of the people and dates I have spoken to them. In addition my conversations were recorded. Now I am going on two months behind in my payments, which I informed them that there was no way I could make that large monthly payment. I was informed that if I did n't have the documents in by XX/XX/2016, my request to modify would be denied. I am at the end of my rope and do n't know what else to do. Could someone please help. I feel discriminated against and not treated fairly. I only kept calling to verify that documents were received and to ensure nothing else was needed. Each time I was not told the truth, even after requesting help from the ombudsman.

Consumer Complaint: I have been since XXXX of 2016 requesting a short sale I have been working with SPS, I Have submitted many complaints to try to get the problem of SPS asking repeatedly for document 's they say need to be updated only do to SPS not processing them in a timely manner, as of XXXX/XXXX/16 the complaint I submitted was answered ( with SPS needs more updated document 's ) ( that is the Complaint ) it has been almost a year. on XXXX/XXXX/16 I was referred to the Ombudsman XXXX. to expedite the paper work for my short sale request. I have spoke to a number of people in the Dept. the last to be supervisor XXXX XXXX XXXX who on XXXX/XXXX/16 I was told I would have a answer, in XXXX to XXXX hours since then, I have not been able to get a phone call back and I did not receive a answer but I did get a request for more updated document 's, on XXXX/XXXX/2016 my biggest concern is that SPS has required the title company XXXX XXXX ) different times to change the PRE HUD this last request is that line XXXX be correct to have a number that Bank XXXX XXXX gave them as a payoff amount 8 months ago, be changes, this is a Pre Hud the numbers are not to the penny, and will not be XXXX SPS has a closing date I have spoke to Bank XXXX XXXX, they close the file, in 30 days by law iff a short sale is not completed. SPS has cost me to lose my lawyer to represent me, due to the repeated request for updated document 's, they have had XXXX XXXX XXXX restart my file over many times, causing the realtor, to redo there part of the short sale, and my husband and myself costing me money to keep the unit overhead paid every month, that we do not have. I have now had to go to a debt consolidation firm to help with my bills, I need this to be over with. I have been not able to get a return call from XXXX XXXX in the XXXX XXXX. to tell me what happen. I have made many complaints, and I get the same response fro SPS we need more document 's updated, I am hoping this time XXXX XXXX will contact me, with a solution to this on going problem. it has been 8 months.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/16 I submitted an offer to purchase a short sale property serviced by Select Portfolio Servicing. There seem to be numerous delays by the servicer in review of the short sale that I would like to have investigated. After my offer was submitted, a BPO was not ordered until XXXX/XXXX/16. Results of the BPO were not processed until XXXX/XXXX/16 at which time a counter offer was requested. An updated purchase contract/counter offer was given to the servicer immediately and it took until XXXX/XXXX/16 to get a final approval even though there was no other negotiating. I immediately completed an application with a lender, ordered and paid for an appraisal and inspection. A title search by my lender showed there was an outstanding XXXX lien on the property. Negotiations with the XXXX lien began on XXXX/XXXX/16 and ended on XXXX/XXXX/16 with them requesting a $ XXXX settlement. The selling agent immediately went back to Select Portfolio Servicing on XXXX/XXXX/16 to get an updated approval including the $ XXXX settlement to the XXXX lien and it took SPS until XXXX/XXXX/16 to order the BPO again as the first XXXX had expired. I understand BPOs are only valid for 90 days, however I do n't understand the delays with ordering the BPOs and providing approval documentation. I unfortunately am now at jeopardy of losing {$600.00} for the appraisal I obtained if we do not close by XXXX/XXXX/16 since appraisals are also only valid for 90 days. I am hoping they will rush this second review, but am not hopeful. The purpose of my complaint is to obtain confirmation that SPS has maintained compliance with CFPB regulations and required timelines in review of this short sale.

Consumer Complaint: Our mortgage company Select Portfolio Servicing is horrible at helping their clients save their homes. We have been fighting with them since XX/XX/XXXX to save our home. We have tried everything from modification requests, bankruptcy, repayment plans and we have been turned down on everyone request. XX/XX/XXXX we had {$20000.00} to put towards our arrearages and SPS denied us any kind of modification. We have talked to so many different agents and got different answers to the same questions. One agent would say yes you can and the next would say it 's too late after all the paperwork was done. They need to be retrained so the left hand knows what the right hand is doing. We are now working with an HUD counseling agent who gave us this website because she agrees that we have been given the run around and with our income and the money we HAD to put towards our arrearages that we should have been given a modification plan. We would like an investigation done on their practices because we are not the only ones that have been denied or are having the same problem.
