Consumer Complaint: I have a loan with SELECT PORTFOLIO SVCIN. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason, I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report, I called SELECT PORTFOLIO SVCIN and they said their system automatically put me on paperless billing, which I did not request. I was awaiting letter in the mail all this time just to find out their system had an error. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX and SELECT PORTFOLIO SVCIN with no successful resolution. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX reporting me 30, 60 and 120 days late from XXXX to XXXX. There was an error on their part. I was never 30, 60 or 120 days late.

Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to get a loan modification with SPS. When I speak to the lender they always say that the loan is in default and has been referred to an attorney. However, I have received modification papers and made the first trial payment at this time. ( The second payment is not yet due ) When I remind them of this they then tell me my ex-husband must sign the paperwork as he was the original person on the loan. My divorce was finalized prior to the loan modification and my ex-husband quit claimed the property to me. These documents were sent to SPS in XXXX when I started the modification process. The trial modification paperwork that SPS sent to me identified my ex-husband as the original borrower and me as the new borrower. They requested and was sent finalized divorce statement and the quit claim documents again but they are still dragging their feet about recognizing me as the new borrower. Since he quit claimed the property to me he is irrelevant in regards to this loan. My ex is lives in another country and is not easily accessible.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, our home was destroyed as the result of the Camp Fire in XXXX, CA. It's known as the worst disaster in history. We received a check from the insurance company that was 96 % of the payoff of the home. We promptly sent the check to SPS Servicing , Inc. ( our mortgage company ). We are working with a private attorney to sue the Insurance Agent ( not company ) for not changing our insurance from rental to primary. The mortgage company knew we were short. They received 96 % of the funds in XX/XX/2018, but refused to apply those funds towards my account as they wanted us to rebuild instead. We do not want to rebuild. Our lawyer finally got them to apply the funds to our account. They have put a negative mark on our credit. They also will not accept a short pay option to clear the last of the debt. Our lawyer is appealing the short pay denial. This was not our fault. SPS wants to foreclose on a house that no longer exists. 95 % of XXXX burned down that day. The town no longer has infrastructure. Our credit is now damaged.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/19 I faxed my request to close my escrow account. I currently qualify for property tax exemption and on this day I sent them the documents from the County of XXXX XXXX- Office of the Assessor, proof that my property is now tax exempt and will continue to be exempt as long as I file every year for it. However, since then they were not able to close the escrow because I was a payment behind, which I have made that payment since then. I was told that after the payment was made they would close out my escrow payment. I later received a letter in the mail that my escrow closure request was not approved, that I did not qualify. I called into customer service at Select Portfolio Services and was told that my paperwork needed to be reviewed by another department. I later received another letter that my request to close my escrow account was denied. For the XXXX payment I made my payment, minus the escrow. I am simply trying to get them to process the request to close the collection of fees for my property taxes. I was told by a County of XXXX office assessor that if someone from SPS called them XXXX that they could also verify my status as exempt for my property taxes.

Consumer Complaint: I am a XXXX XXXX with major health problems. I have had a severe reduction in income and I am struggling to stay afloat. My servicer, SPS, has categorically denied my requests for a mortgage modification. There answer to my reasoning is that my mortgage owner, XXXX XXXX XXXX and the mortgage holder, XXXX Bank does not permit modifications. So if XXXX is still the owner, why would they inform me years ago that my mortgage was being sold to SPS? Where does XXXX Bank fit in this scenario? Why is it when I apply to SPS for a modification, I am offered 2 options, " short sale or deed in lieu of foreclosure? Why is SPS so XXXX-bent of me being out of my home? I have lived here 24 years, 6 months! I feel as if SPS, supposedly defunct Accredited and XXXX Bank should be included with XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, because I believe that have engaged in and continue to engage in a financial crime spree that violates every law and rule imaginable. I feel as if SPS decisions are based on race and finances. These foreclosures are destroying ethnic neighborhoods. There are at least 10 foreclosed properties on my block alone and they want to add my home to the list! These companies refuse to work with a homeowner and prefer to foreclose and wait on an investor, who typically waits until the property sells for pennies on the dollar. I am appalled at the freedom at which these companies operate but then again they are fined and it is back to business as usual ... " Let 's get back to work on finding another unsuspecting XXXX to swindle ''! They are prolific in the crimes and the government seems to be oblivious to it or simply does not care!

Consumer Complaint: My bankruptcy case has been dismissed and I just asked SPS to send me a modification. Instead of sending me a modification package they threatened me to short sale my home. It is illegal for SPS to force me into a short sale and also it is illegal for SPS to not send me a modification package. Every homeowner in my neighborhood has received a modification package. SPS is not sending me a loan modification packs because I am XXXX. I have contacted my attorney and I have placed SPS under investigation.

Consumer Complaint: We were paying Homeowner 's insurance on the property at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX FLXXXX.Through an insurance broker XXXX XXXX XXXX located at XXXX XXXX XXXX , XXXX Fl XXXX . Our mortgage company usually send this check to them, as of today we have never been notified by any source that our insurance has been canceled verbally nor in writing, that we no longer have home owners insurance and needed to get temporary or permanent insurance for our home. I returned home from my regular job as an XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( 48 states ) to find a huge leak in my front room which was caused by a 2feet 6inches oak tree I also have leaks at the side of the house on the roof and at the back of the house. Immediately I cut down the tree with a chainsaw and i placed a tarpaulin on top of the roof but the roof is still leaking. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX via phone ( XXXX ) XXXX, and spoke with Miss XXXX XXXX on Monday XX/XX/2019 who gived me the run around.She told me their company were closed and I needed to contact my mortgage company. I contacted my mortgage company Select Portfolio Servicing , Inc who was cooperative they send me a copy of check number XXXX that the insurance broker cashed. Presently we are still paying insurance on our mortgage we did some research on the internet finding out possible insurance companies that this broker XXXX XXXX XXXX were working with or is working with, one of them have in their records a policy number XXXX the same number that our mortgage company have in their file. We are not sure if XXXX XXXX XXXX were cashing the checks and paying it to a different insurance company or if they were holding the money for themselves. I was told by that insurance company ( who I can not recall ) that I no longer have a policy with them, hence, we are not sure which insurance company we are insured with, what we do know is we are paying XXXX XXXX XXXX and they are responsible to pay our claim also Select Portfolio Servicing, paid XXXX XXXX XXXX without having proper proof, evidence or declaration of insurance coverage. Consumer Complaint: XXXX of XXXX I applied for a Home Equity Line of Credit that was approved. Part of that HELOC required that I pay off the PACE loan on my home. When the HELOC provider paid the PACE loan they also paid the XX/XX/XXXX property tax bill. The following day my 1st Mortgage with Select Portfolio Servicing paid the same property tax bill. XXXX County Tax Collector mailed the duplicate payment back to Select Portfolio Serving on XX/XX/XXXX. Select Portfolio Servicing has verbally confirmed they have received the returned property tax payment. It does not show up in my escrow balance. I requested on XX/XX/XXXX to close my escrow account to try to get this over payment back. The escrow department has confirmed they sent the check to the cashier department XX/XX/XXXX. I have called Select Portfolio Servicing 6 times to get this money refunded. Every time i call i get the same answer : " I have emailed the escrow department to have them look into this and no sir we are not allowed to call the escrow department '' .Currently the refund of the property tax payment is {$8200.00} that i have not received back and the balance in my escrow account that was closed on XX/XX/XXXX is {$3300.00}. Select Portfolio Servicing is telling me they will not send my escrow balance until XX/XX/XXXX but that will only be the {$3300.00} and no one can tell me when i will get the refunded property tax part. The customer service people are very polite but don't get anything done. Can someone please help??? I have spoke to XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and someone the the last name XXXX as Select Portfolio Servicing. Can at least one of them do their job???
