Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I feel behind on my mortgage because I was forced into early retirement and am know only rely on my Social Security income. My mortgage is at a 10.5 % interest rate and i'm not able to afford my mortgage payment with just my Social Security income. I tried to be reviewed for workout assistance with my lender and have been denied because my investor does not participate for workout assistance. To make matters worst I relied on getting some type of assistance that I feel more behind that I got a sale date and had to file bankruptcy and I am now in bankruptcy making my trial plan payments. But still not able to afford my current mortgage. I feel that I am the perfect candidate for workout assistance. I have never been approved for anything and now need it more then ever.

Consumer Complaint: I live in and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX California. The Thomas Fire XXXX XXXX - XXXX ) destroyed many homes and businesses in the XXXX area. Because of that fire many people lost their homes and had to move out of the area. This seriously affected my business because I lost a large number of clients. Then after years of drought, we had heavy rains in XXXX. Because the landscape was gone, the area suffered severe flooding. Those people who hadn't lost their homes in the fire, lost them due to flooding and mudslides. Again, I lost clients due to these natural disasters and I was not earning as much money as before. Also, my business was damaged by the fire and the flooding. I tried to modify my loan with XXXX but they only offered me a repayment plan that had payments much higher than I was previously paying. On top of that it had a balloon payment at the end of the repayment plan. My business has still not recovered from this loss and I can not afford the high monthly payments XXXX offered and I certainly can not afford a balloon payment at the end of the repayment plan term. I am afraid of losing my home. I missed payments because of my reduced income and XXXX does not seem to care that some of the worst natural disasters in California history affected me personally. I am lucky my home was not destroyed but between losing my clients and some damage to my place of business I am not earning what I had in the past

Consumer Complaint: My lender has not made any attempt to contact or communicate with me regarding the loan modification process. For the last year I’ve made several attempts to receive a modification review. I have not received any info from the lender via mail or postal. I did receive a letter with a sell date pending and no info on why I was denied a modification. In order help me better afford the property I have rented out 3 of the rooms. This has given me the ability to afford new terms with my mortgage. I would like to be properly reviewed to be able to get receive home owners assistant in order to keep my home.The renters have also filled a complaint against my property due to the property having mold. Due to the foreclosure status I’m not able to file a claim with the insurance to fix the problem. This has cause exposure to mold to my tenants and myself because the lender will not communicate with me . I would like to be contacted immediately so I can get this matter resolved. Thank You

Consumer Complaint: Good morning, my concern is with my mortgage balance with servicing company select portfolio. I for the last couple of months I have sent several requests to have them provide the mortgage pay history since loan origination of XXXX. The prompting is because I originally did a dispute with my credit report which reflects original principal balance of {$210000.00}. This is incorrect and hurting my credit score because it reflects my current balance {$210000.00} higher than original note. We purchased this home in XXXX -- there was two notes totaling purchase price of {$260000.00}. During the market crash we went through hardship and the servicer at the time XXXX XXXX XXXX gave us a loan medication that was set up to make us fail. We fought very hard to keep our house, we had interest only 1st and 2nd mortgage. After going to housing counselor XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX forgave the second mortgage and modified the first. Shortly thereafter in XXXX the loan changed to XXXX XXXX XXXX and our loan amount was back up again and with lack of our knowledge and fear of losing our home we signed. Since XXXX we have not been late We are asking that Select Portfolio provide the payment history and how these payments have been applied. They can only provide payments dated back only to XX/XX/XXXX. We are missing payments from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX. We need this investigation to make sure that our payments been applied correctly and balance is reflected. We have been taken advantage of all throughout this loan, not because of select portfolio but because of lack of knowledge. If they can not provide the history then how can the balance be reflected correctly. Please help us

Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage

Consumer Complaint: I hope you can help us, as we don't know where else to turn. We were given your name ( CFPB ) by XXXX XXXX XXXX and they advised us to contact you because of the trouble we are having with our current loan company and their unfair practices. We currently have a mortgage with Select Portfolio Servicing, SPS. Our current percentage rage is 8.85 %. We were looking into refinancing with XXXX XXXX XXXX and that's how we found our issues with SPS. There are 2 complaints I am filing against them today. SPS is stating we owe them {$9300.00} in escrow/delinquent taxes, from XXXX and XXXX. We never signed up for the escrow, as we pay our taxes outright every year. We paid the taxes in question and even have receipts for them. On XX/XX/XXXX, I filed a discrepency with SPS about the owed taxes and they said they would " have their team look into it. '' A few days later I got a phone call stating from SPS that they found no discrepency and we owe the {$9000.00}. We told SPS that we have paid receipts for the taxes in question and they said it didn't matter, we still owed them the money. I am attaching a copy of the paid tax receipts in this complaint. The other complaint is, SPS told me I am behind payments, which I was not. But they said it was a missed payment from between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. But SPS never told me about a missed payment SIX years ago. If I knew about this " missed payment '' I would have paid right away. Instead, they waited SIX years to tell me. I was never notified about this in XXXX. So for six years, I've essentially been behind a payment, without my knowledge. We are trying to refinance this current mortgage with XXXX XXXX XXXX at a rate of 3.8 % instead of the current 8.85 % with SPS. XXXX XXXX advised us to contact CFPB before they can proceed with our loan, because of the current issues and unfair practices of SPS. If we can get the mortgage with SPS settled, then we can proceed with XXXX XXXX. SPS holds the title of our property and has threatened Sheriff 's Sale because of these " owed '' taxes. Please help us. You are our only hope. We don't want to lose our house.

Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to refinance my mortgage since XXXX with chase, then chase transferred their loan to SP Servicing. since then SP servicing has played a game where every month they say they are missing documents, I provide all of them, with proof, then they wait, then they ask for documents again. This has last until now XXXX!!! I think that they did not want to refinance when the rates were quite low in XXXX and XXXX and now UI am stil having a problem. Furthermore, in XXXX, they requested for me to provide proof on insurance along with the fact that I was paying my real estate taxes. I provided them with proof of insurance along with a statement from my insurance that I was fully insured without any interruption. They acknowledged receipt of the documents but still charge me close to 10K for insurance and real estate taxes. As of today, they have not refunded my account for all this money and are continuing to charge me for insurance. This company is much less that honest and they should be fined a very large amount and they should not only pay me back for the money they charged me but they should pay me for interest they charged me on my mortgage. Consumer Complaint: My original complaint was filed back in XXXX. XXXX ( my original complain ) XX/XX/19 I faxed my request to close my escrow account. I currently qualify for property tax exemption and on this day I sent them the documents from XXXXhe County of XXXX XXXX- Office of the Assessor, proof that my property is now tax exempt and will continue to be exempt as long as I file every year for it. However, since then they were not able to close the escrow because I was a payment behind, which I have made that payment since then. I was told that after the payment was made they would close out my escrow payment. I later received a letter in the mail that my escrow closure request was not approved, that I did not qualify. I called into customer service at Select Portfolio Services and was told that my paperwork needed to be reviewed by another department. I later received another letter that my request to close my escrow account was denied. For the XXXX payment I made my payment, minus the escrow. I am simply trying to get them to process the request to close the collection of fees for my property taxes. I was told by a County of XXXX office assessor that if someone from SPS called them XXXX that they could also verify my status as exempt for my property taxes. It has been Months and there has been no resolution to remove the escrow from my statements and SPS is still trying to collect on my escrow payments. When I called in yesterday the representative I spoke with was unable to assist me any further other than providing me with another phone number to contact and SUBMIT ALL THE DOCUMENTS that I have already submitted numerous times. The county of XXXX XXXX - Representative, XXXX XXXX is the one that processed my request to have my property taxes exempt. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX # :XXXX. Consumer Complaint: SPS Loan Servicing did not respond to my loan modification in 30 days. After submitting documents several times, I was denied with no clear reason why. For the past 6 months, my Relationship Manager never responded to my many calls. It is a joke! I am working with a HUD approved housing counselor as well. Finally today, I was told by SPS by my relationship manager that there is no such thing as a Flex Modification thru XXXX. Wrong.
