Consumer Complaint: Santander Consumer USA has recently settled in a 33 State Class Action Lawsuit for Predatory Lending Practices. In the settlement, Santander has agreed to relieve all defaulted loans and help repair the credit of individuals affected by their actions going back to XX/XX/XXXX- XX/XX/XXXX. I would also like to add that they are reporting incorrect information on all three credit bureaus preventing me from opening new accounts and purchasing another vehicle. I demand that this account be deleted, all collection efforts cease and any information about this account sent to credit agencies/bureaus be removed immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I have disputed with Santander on numerous occasions ; however, they did not notate my report to reflect as such. Instead, their response to my previous complaint proved that they need to delete the account entire from all three bureaus. Not only did they mail notices to an address I never lived at ( which is required according to the FDCPA ), they openly stated that they could " report an account as open/charged off ''. An account can not be open and charged off nor can it be reopened and report a missing payment which can have extreme financial injuries and repercussions. According to XXXX XXXX Santander Consumer USA, Santander has previously and continuously refuses to properly investigate and remedy their negligent reporting at the emotional and financial expense of the consumer.

I called and paid the settlement amount on XX/XX/2021, and received an emailed receipt for that payment. Santander has refused to update my account correctly as settled and/or paid in full, and show the correct balance of {$0.00}, to any of the consumer credit agencies. I have disputed this account with all 3 major credit agencies, and Santander has refused to update and correct the incorrect information currently shown each time. They went so far as to update my XXXX report as " closed and written off '' for a second time after that dispute, causing a second major hit to my credit score that was not only completely avoidable, but seems petty and vindictive at this point.

Consumer Complaint: I paid off my boat loan on XX/XX/2022. Since then I have been trying to contact Santander Consumer USA to get the title but since my account is paid off, it is no longer active. When I try to call Santander, without a valid account number ( mine is apparently deactivated ) the phone system does not allow you to continue. I have used their web portal to send at least 4 emails over the past 4 weeks and none have been answered. I tried calling a local office ( XXXX XXXX - recording says office now closed ) and their headquarters in XXXX ( published number only allows you to enter your extension to gather voicemail messages- sounds like this is for employees only ). I have searched the web and tried every number I can find- it seems there is no way to reach this company. I need to sell my boat but every month that Santander does not send me my title it costs me another {$300.00} in storage fees. What kind of a company has no way for its customers ( immediate past customers anyway ) to contact them, and actively ignores emails?
