This agency is performing unfair practices, in which is reflecting a negative impact on my credit report. This debt also exceeds the statutory limit for the state of South Carolina, which is stated in section 15-3-530 of title 15/Civil Remedies and Procedures. This is also deemed unfair in conjunction with the Fair Credit Reporting Act ; 15 U.S.C.-1681 et seq that states : U.S. Federal Government legislation enacted to promote the accuracy, fairness, and privacy of consumer information contained in the files of consumer reporting agencies. Consumer Complaint: I have not received any paperwork from portfolio recovery. I started getting in the mail that there was a lawsuit for my credit card debt, but no notification that I was being sued. I immediately called portfolio recovery and set up payments for the credit card that I had payments for already set up, but the card expired and I never received notification when the bank gave me the credit card nothing had changed so it continue do use the same number but for whatever reason theyre claiming was not processing nor was I contacted about these payments, as I had already arranged a payment agreement with them, I called on XX/XX/XXXX and set up the payments. They stated that they are going to mail me the agreement that we have discussed every month on the XXXX the payment would come out of my bank accounts every month I had followed up as I have not still received this letter agreement on XXXX XXXX, and I was advised that they are still processing and it does take a while for the letter to come out, but to continue to follow up if I had not received it meanwhile I live XXXX on a XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX and I have about an XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have been harassed since last XXXX and the state that we live in I am not going to approach an unmarked vehicle for my safety, especially living alone and see what they want. they have started on XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. They came around XXXX XXXX. They sat in front of my gate never leaving never called never leaving me a note of why they were there. They proceeded to come XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX did the same thing sat in front of my gates, and honked the horn again you were not leaving a note I do not know who you are I live alone in for my safety. I am not going to approach this vehicle, they had continued to show up every day at different times starting from XX/XX/XXXX XXXX rolls around. They show up at XXXX at this point. This is harassment youre not leaving a Notes youre not speaking to me nothing they just sit there I do not feel safe in my own home I called the cops and reported and filed a police report, the next day I was gone I had asked everyone that I know if they knew who this car was. My neighbors ended up spotting this vehicle, and when they went to approach, the vehicle drove off all we want to know is who this is the vehicle is and the vehicle ended up driving off. They ran a stop sign in the red light to get away from my neighbors. I have pictures of the vehicle but unfortunately the license plate was blurry and can not be pulled. The harassment gets worse. They came back at XXXX XXXX XXXX again i live in the XXXX the only thing after ruling everything else out is it is portfolio recovery harassing me the agreement has been set up. The payments have come in. Everything is that I have been told as squared away when I went to call portfolio recovery I had asked on XXXX when I called is this something the company does the gentleman on XXXX says that sounds very sketchy and I would hope that this is not our company that did that unfortunately the specific agency that covers for portfolio recovery was not available at that time on XXXX when I called so I called first thing XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. Spoke to the representative and I asked her point-blank if this was them coming to my house and harassing me she would not give me an answer, and said that she would write it down on my file, I want this reviewed and looked into if this truly was on their behalf as this is totally inappropriate, they have made me feel insecure and afraid in my own home and to top it off. My debts have been settled. I signed up for the agreements.
