Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: My problem is with PNC Bank thats supposed to protect my card from fraud and misuse. I stayed at the XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX NJ, and they both overcharged my card, and put through an unauthorized charge AFTER I had already checked out. I kept calling them and promises were made for the manager to call me back but never did. I disputed the charge with my bank, PNC, and they declined my dispute WITHOUT EVEN CONTACTING THE MERCHANT AT ALL, NOT ONE TIME! I do not understand why PNC Bank would reject a complaint of an unauthorized use of my card by a Hotel AFTER I checked out! No contact of the merchant and just flat out declined the dispute. My money was just wasted because PNC did not show much interest in my case, and made no attempt to even contact the merchant.

Consumer Complaint: My mother died in XX/XX/XXXX. PNC was notified in XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXXbecause she had a XXXX and was unable to care for herself and her bills. She was placed in a XXXX XXXX. They contacted us and said they would come out and view the property to take back in their debt with her. They came out to the equity home ( her trailer ) and emailed us that they were not interested in it. I informed them that she is not able to pay her debt that she was very ill. It was then sold to the county because mom could not pay for her taxes, XXXX XXXX, medical care and bills. She required numerous medical needs because of her very unstable health, most of which I had to help with as her daughter. She died in XX/XX/XXXX. Upon her death, I informed PNC that they had been harassing her in the XXXX XXXX by sending her numerous statements and letters after telling us they were not interested in repossessing the colleratal in XX/XX/XXXX. They said they would stop but it continued. My mother continued to read their mail and was terribly upset. I had asked many MANY times for them to stop sending to her. They continued. She had a very bad XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX. She ended up having XXXX XXXX, then another. The PNC letters and statemetns continued and to this day.

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Billing problem
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I made a payment at PNC in their ON LINE banking system. The payment was not applied as it should have been. I have made the same payments in the past in the same matter without a problem. The funds for the payment were taken out of my checking account on XX/XX/XXXX. I am familiar with the ACH process and know that a batch file with my recorded payment was submitted by PNC, received by my financial institution ( checking account ) and settled/withdrawn on XX/XX/XXXX. I have made three calls to PNC. Their representatives have admitted their problem but will not apply the payment until they find out what is causing the issue internally. All the while they have been checking into this problem my payment has not been unapplied and the loan is accruing interest. I asked if PNC can apply a provisional credit of my loan payment while they investigate the issue. I was told no. Keep in mind my account with PNC is in good standing and I have never been late. Image if this payment would have caused an issue on my Credit Report. It would illustrate as a delinquent loan and cause my score to go down due to no fault of mine. Very concerned if they continue with this practice and as a result customer 's Credit Score is decreased when it is PNC 's fault. They must change this practice. If I were to apply for Credit and I could not get a great rate because of a error by PNC. This can cause financial harm. Your help in this matter is very much appreciated. Best Regards XXXX XXXX

Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: I was charged XXXX in overdrafts even after an XXXX direct deposit was made but not posted until Monday. If the funds are available to me on Saturday then I feel overdrafts should not have been accessed because it brought my balance to a positive balance. They can afford to give money away in sweepstakes why can't they give a break on good customers

Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I sent a partial bill pay to XXXX XXXX XXXX for the balance that was in my account at that time ( {$20.00} ). That night PNC drafted that money THEN charged me a monthly service fee for having a FREE CHECKING ACCOUNT of ( {$7.00} ) THEN overdrafted my account assessing both a {$36.00} overdraft charge and THEN a {$21.00} overdraft fee and now they are charging me a {$7.00} per day fee to which I have been told will continue causing overdraft fees and charges for the next fourteen days until the billing cycle closes which is a random date picked by PNC of somewhere between the XXXX and then end of the month at which point I will be assessed another round of the SAME FEES FOR FOURTEEN MORE DAYS. Endless fees. In my state yo can not open a new bank account or close an old one without paying the reported negative balance off which means I will never be able to banking services again since the fees will never stop and PNC refuses to close the account. I can not believe that this is allowed to happen since it is an intentional victimizing of people for being poor. I could get better financial help from organized crime.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/18 I made a payment to the XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$900.00}. On XXXX I made a small purchase in the amount of {$7.00}. Because of the holiday I believe this caused these items to show on the same day although they actually were not, nonetheless the funds were there to cover both purchases. I purposely made a payment for {$900.00} which was less than the amount owed to avoid overdrawing the account. On XX/XX/18 approx XXXX I made a withdraw from a none pnc atm in th amount of {$400.00}. At this time my account showed I had approximately {$23.00} available. I knew I would be charged for this withdrawal. Unfortunately a charge came out of the account for {$9.00} which should have come out on the XX/XX/18 again because of the holiday I believe the charge was delayed in processing. I expected at this point to be charged for the {$400.00} withdrawal and the {$9.00} charge that came in. When checking my account I realized I was charged 2 additional fees a total of 4. I called pnc customer service and spoke with a rep who transferred me to XXXX XXXX ( account manager in the escalation dept ). I was told that had I waited until a certain time to withdraw the money I wouldnt have received these fees. PNC seems to play with actual dates and times so that they can charge you the most money that they possibly can. My online account shows that at the end of business on XXXX I had enough money to cover every purchase up to that point. The withdrawal is the reason they are charging me additional fees. Although a computer may not be able to see dates and times but an actual person can see when purchases were made and when the withdrawal was actually made. I would like the 2 additional fees returned to my account. I had enough money in my account to cover all charges with the exception of the withdrawal and the XXXX purchase.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: We have been attempting to set up automatic payments to PNC Bank on Home Equity loan # XXXX. We previously had this set up but stopped when we experienced a drop in income for VA Disability. After a 19 month battle the VA decided in our favor increased the monthly disability and paid a settlement to us. I have been trying to get PNC to reestablish autopayments but only get form letters. Critical information on our loan and property. Our 1rst Loan with PNC Mortgage is for {$500000.00}, this Home Equity is {$110000.00}. Per the PNC appraisal the home is only worth {$350000.00}. This debt was also discharged and not reaffirmed in my 2007 Chap XXXX Bankruptcy. PNC wrote off the debt. There is no equity for the PNC Bank Home Equity 2nd lien. Despite all of this we are willing to make payments via auto deduction but PNC employee 's don't know how to assist. We ask PNC to reestablish the auto payments or completely forgive the loan and release the lien on the property

Consumer Complaint: PNC Bank charged me {$36.00} each for 3 overdrafts that never occurred. I know for a fact that my checking account was not over-drowned on the holiday week-end. It seems that PNC Bank is manually manipulating data on my checking account. My pension from XXXX was posted on my account on the XXXX of the month. On the pages that I'm attaching to this complaint, there are no negative balances shown, Every time this happens, PNC Bank wants me to sign-up for overdraft protection.
