Issue: Trouble during payment process

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: I am formally filing a complaint against : PNC bank : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX OH XXXX ... XXXX They have illegally and fraudulently added a balloon payment Of {$8000.00} + to my loan balance which was not on the original contract that we signed in XX/XX/XXXX. The terms of the {$100000.00} home equity loan ( 5.99 APY ... 15 years ) clearly stated that I had to make 180 payments of {$840.00} over 15 years ; starting with the first payment on XX/XX/XXXX until the last one in XX/XX/XXXX. As of today I am current on all payments including all late charges and financing charges which might have occurred over the years. I just made my XX/XX/XXXX payment. As of today I should only have 13 payments of {$840.00} which should equate to a balance of {$10000.00}. Instead I am being told that PNC will charge me a balloon payment of $ 8000+ after the final 13 payments, raising my balance to over {$18000.00}. That is contractually false and fraudulent. As I stated earlier, this was not stipulated in my contract. PNC is clearly trying to overbill me on this ; loan. As a resolution, I would need to start receiving statements from PNC which would accurately report the actual balance owed ( {$10000.00} as of XX/XX/XXXX -- ( 13 payments of {$840.00}. I do not owe the {$8000.00} balloon payment they have added on the backend of the loan. It is pure financial theft. Thank you XXXX XXXX

Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals

Consumer Complaint: I had an incorrect ACH withdrawal made from XXXX on my PNC checking account. I spoke with XXXX and they gave me my options for addressing the situation. There were several, but the fastest one involved my contacting my financial institution ( PNC ) to resolve the problem through the Automatic Clearing House procedures. They told me to specificall ask to " unauthorize the charge ''. Then they placed a forbearance to allow time to resolve the incorrect charges. This call took approximately 25 minutes. Next I called PNC to take care of this. I started with customer service and explained my request. First she stated that this was completely impossible, and that only the charger could unauthorize. That they could do so, but I would need to have them on the line. After that, I asked for the department to call directly so I could have XXXX do that. Approximate call time 30 minutes. I called XXXX, and I waited again on the line for XXXX. I spoke with a supervisor regarding the banks request. XXXX said they had heard many things from banks but this was a new one. THey passed me up to a supervisor. The XXXX supervisor told me that Federal ACH regulations allow consumers to unauthorize an incorrect charge within 60 days of charge being made, and that I should call back my institution XXXX time about 15 minutes. I called back PNC. I explained what I was trying to accomplish. THe agent said she spoke to her supervisor and the ACH department. They explained I could put a " stop funds '' request, but that since it was not 3 days prior to the charge that it would most likely not work. They said then after 2 business days I could request a refund and dispute the charge. I mentioned the regulations and asked her to speak again to her supervisors and they again said that whoever I spoke to did not know anything about banks and who was XXXX anyway! After another call to the supervisor at XXXX, where the supervisor gave me the error code and affirmed their ability to unauthorize and ach I tried one more time to PNC with no result. So I have now spent four hours on the phone today. I would like to report PNC for failing to follow Nathional ACH regulations ( at least as I understand them. ) The people I spoke to at PNC were, XXXX XXXX, XXXX?, with supervisor of XXXX XXXX, and a XXXX who they said worked with ACH transactions. My contact info XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX OH XXXX email XXXX XXXX

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: PNC LN XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX CA XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX We started a short sale on XX/XX/18. PNC is the 2nd TD. PNC is refusing to return any of our requests for a callback, will not give us status updates on the short sale, and we are currently at a standstill because they are claiming that the negotiator is unavailable and have NO idea when he will be back. They apparently are grossly understaffed, as they have no one working his files while he is gone. Neither the front-end nor management can tell us anything that is going on with this file and they have had this file for OVER SEVEN MONTHS. We have met all their demands and have no idea why they are still delaying the process. Again, this is a 2nd TD, and we are at the end of another round of 60 days worth of approvals from the 2nd TD. We just want someone at PNC to answer us. This dysfunction is an ongoing problem with PNC as a whole, to the point that it is obvious it is by design. It is done on purpose to obstruct their own clients ability to obtain a resolution to Retention Options. We just want a response from PNC.

I did not find out into I reached out to PNC asking more question about this loan type. They told me that I can refinance the loan which is almost the same amount that I started with for another 14 years. The correct information was not disclosure to me and my family regarding this loan. All the money I have paid in the last couple is going to the bank not to the loan amount which is still high. I am requesting that the company put some of the money I have paid into the loan because I did not fully understand the terms of agree upon at the time of services and was told something different. If lender states you are get a second mortgage ensure that the correct information is disclose to you and not get a home equity installment loan. This product is a waste they money thing you pay of your loan just too find out that you still owe the same amount. Please feel free to contact me.

Subissue: Banking errors

Consumer Complaint: I made a paid a merchant twice by accident from my PNC account. Because the merchant was due the money, ( since I was behind ), they denied my request for reimbursement. I then called the bank, knowing that I did not have enough finds to cover 2 payments, they put in several request for me to get my 2nd payment back. Each time I was advised it had been denied. So I opened a case with XXXX about the merchant. Their findings was that the money was returned when I filed with PNC, asking for the money back. So where is my money?

Consumer Complaint: P.N.C Bank has repeatedly treated me UNFAIRLY ( 12 USC 5531C ( 1 ) ( A ) ) and violated Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act ( RESPA ) ( 1024.41 ( b ) ( 1 ) by not providing me any modification options for my mortgage loan and now I am on the brink of losing my home. I have sent modification paperwork several times ( 3 total ) to the loss mitigation Department in the past ( 6 ) months and only to be told that they need more paperwork. The most recent time I sent the paperwork ( full loss mitigation application ), I got a response on XX/XX/2018, stating that I did not send the requested documents, but was rather told, that they have not received the requested documents. PNC Bank has given me multiple Single Point of Contacts ( SPOCs ), and they all seem to be inadequately trained to handle or provide any loss mitigation options to me, but rather P.N.C Bank has threatened me with foreclosure proceeding ( s ) and stated they will report negatively to the Credit Bureaus. The SPOCs misplaced my paperwork and have not picked up my phone call ( s ) or returned them on time. P.N.C Bank misplaced my paperwork several times and stated they have not received it ( see attachments ). These tactics are abusive towards me and other consumer ( s ) and P.N.C needs to be held accountable for violating Consumer Protection Law ( s ) because I am losing my house because of PNC Unfair, Deceptive and Abusive tactics.
