Consumer Complaint: When this loan was given to Nelnet to service I disputed this loan. I am to pay for XXXX years then the loan is to be cancelled. I have credit for paying for XXXX years. So I have met the stipulations of the loan according to the department of education rules. I have asked that is the loan is still valid how many months are left to pay. NO answer. They claim that a promissory note exists. YES it does. It states I will pay as per their programs. And when the obligation has been met according to their programs the loan will then be cancelled. I have been on income driven repayment since XXXX. I am now XXXX and live on Social Security. Their determination is that I am required to pay XXXX dollars per month for up to XXXX years including every month i have credit for making payments since the inception of this loan in XXXX. This is for XXXX loan. And XXXX was in first year of college. Since I now have credit for payments over XXXX years I have met the loan obligation. This loan should not be reported to the credit bureaus as the obligation has been met. Under their claims, I can never meet the obligation. So am I on the hook forever? When does it end? They Nelnet has refused to disclose this information. I have tried to discuss this with the department of education but since Nelnet is the assigned servicer they keep referring me to Nelnet. Nelnet was assigned this loan to service in XXXX of XXXX. I have disputed the loan with Nelnet since XXXX. XXXX. As they claim, I supposedly still owe {$7200.00}. My question is how many months am I required to make a XXXX dollar payment in order to satisfy the loan? At my age I will never earn more than I am now. Oh and I was listed in XXXX as delinquent becaue I missed paying XXXX dollars a month. how can that be? Somewhere their rules are only for them and not for me. Their program I pay for XXXX years and it is cancelled. So when have I met the 20 years? I get XXXX answer.

Consumer Complaint: I am the parent of a full-time student at XXXX University ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) , for whom I have taken out several Parent Plus loans to help fund his 4 year education. He is current still a full time student at XXXX University, yet my Parent Plus Loan account ( serviced by Nelnet ) has me in active " repayment '' status - when I am entitled to deferment until at least 6 months following my son 's graduation. XXXX University has completed and signed the U.S. Department of Education Parent Plus Borrower Deferment Request form I prepared, but I have not been able to get Nelnet to process my Request. In the meantime, my payment due date is XX/XX/XXXX at which point I fear that Nelnet will report me 30 days late on a Parent Plus loan ( for which I am legally entitled to deferment ).

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of significant concern regarding Nelnet, a loan servicing company responsible for managing my student loans. Nelnets actions to be in violation of the regulations and requirements set forth by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ). On XX/XX/2023, I formally requested from Nelnet the Original Instrument of Indebtedness for my student loans, as is my right under the law. My request was specific in nature, seeking a document that holds legal significance and is crucial for a clear understanding of the terms and conditions of my student loans. Regrettably, Nelnet did not comply with my request as they not only failed to provide the Original Instrument of Indebtedness but also furnished a promissory note that contains incorrect information. The inaccuracies within the promissory note include errors in my address, email, and school name, which is a grave oversight on their part. Furthermore, the document they provided lacks my wet signature, which raises doubts about the authenticity and validity of the information therein. This situation is of utmost concern to me, as the accurate documentation and disclosure of my student loan terms are essential for my financial well-being. The inaccuracies and absence of my signature in the provided promissory note only exacerbate the uncertainty surrounding my student loans. I am troubled by Nelnets noncompliance with the requirements set forth by the CFPB and their apparent disregard for the importance of transparent and accurate communication with borrowers. I kindly request that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau investigates this matter thoroughly and takes appropriate action against Nelnet to ensure their compliance with the regulations governing the student loan industry. I also seek guidance on how to rectify this situation and obtain the accurate Original Instrument of Indebtedness for my student loans.
