Consumer Complaint: So my federal loans have been tranferred over from great lakes services to Nelnet.com now. Since it has been transferred over ive had problem after problem with my account. I original spoke with a representative in XXXX to set up my s.a.v.e. plan application from my idr repayment plan. So the lady told me it was all set and should expect confirmation of my application and gave me my payment monthly. My payments were to resume in XXXX so i tried to get it done way before. A month goes by and still havent heard anything. So i tried calling every day and could never get through to speake to someone. I wrote several emails on there contact us portion on there website and have yet to even get a response. I sat on the line for 3 hrs on hold several times and still couldnt get through. i cant sit waiting that long since i have to work. So my wife called and sat on hold for 4 hours. Well speaking to them she told me my application was incomplete and waiting on me.So the first contact was incorrect on my account. I do another application on federalstudentaid.gov and correctly did it again. Another month goes by and hear nothing. So again i called several times and emailed several times and finally get ahold of someone. She said at this time i would take a month to process my application. So my first payment was incorrect and had to pay that amount. She also confirmed my account was just waiting on processing. This was in augus. So currently i get emails still stating my account is still in processing and now its XXXX. Then out of nowhere they put my account in forebearennce and i never agreed to that, im trying to pay my account and specifically told them this. I just received another email talking about my application is not done yet. I dont know what to do. This is very frustrating and want my payment set to what it should be. I dont know who else to contact on this matter.

Consumer Complaint: I am due automatic student loan forgivenss under the XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX settlement. I have received a letter from DOE stating such dated XX/XX/2023. To date, that has not been processed by Nelnet. My student loans were to remain in an administrative forbearance until this forgiveness was processed. Nelnet took them out. I contacted DOE which agreed they should be in an administrative forbearance until forgiveness ( which is now past due ) is processed. I have a letter from DOE stating the loans should remain in adminstrative forbearance until processed and that they had informed Nelnet of this dated XX/XX/2023. As of today, XX/XX/2023 they are not forgiven and are not in administrative forbearance. After 1.5 hours and how much time on hold all I got was a run around. I want the forgiveness I am owed under the settlement processed ASAP. I want my accounts properly audited as I know Nelnet was bad about crediting parents and I have been overcharged interest. And at this point, they do not deserve to be in business.

Consumer Complaint: I called on XX/XX/XXXX and submitted via uploading Verification of Income doc from Social Security my proof of income and was told my payment meets income guidelines for {$0.00}. I called on XXXX because my payment is set at {$30.00}, obviously not {$0.00}. Claim it takes 6-8 weeks to process & when I asked how it went from over {$1900.00} to {$30.00} in ten days the customer service rep redirected and never answered my question. I called on XX/XX/XXXX and again asked why I still had {$30.00} payment due in XXXX when I meet the income guidelines for {$0.00}. Asked what would happen if I didn't pay it, was told it would remain there as not paid even when my IDR was processed and changed to {$0.00} which the customer service rep wouldn't quarantine, even though I meet the income quite lines. The first two all I neglected to do the wait time but each was at least 1 hour. The third call lasted over XXXX XXXX hours, over 3 hours was being on hold.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I called and waited on the line for over 90 minutes to get to a representative. During our conversation she was able to explain how the XXXX program worked ( payment ) so I could optimize my payment impact. This was the good thing. I am on the program. They have one payment before this forbearance was put into place. We also discussed having the forbearance removed. I was told that this is possible and would take a couple of weeks. I would be getting some info by mail. The only info I got was about the resolution of the borrower defense that was already taken care of previously. About 2 weeks later I sent an email to them as a follow up to the situation where I again requested that my forebear be removed. I wanted to pay. I didn't want any interest to be added to my account. Any to build up since the XXXX program removes the added interest once you pay the amount. I have attempted to call them again but to get to a rep the call would again be more than 90 minutes. In my opinion it appears as if they are ignoring my request as it adds more interest to the account which would be added to my current principle benefiting the company. Nothing done with the first call or the email sent. No TXT, internal message or snail mail. I can't afford to pay the full default amount so much if not all of what I would pay would only go to interest again benefiting the company.

Consumer Complaint: I paid my student loan on XX/XX/XXXX ( pmt was due XX/XX/XXXX ) and it was posted to the wrong account through Nelnet. I made an additional payment on XX/XX/XXXX which was cancelled by the Nelnet representative stating the moneys I paid previously would be transferred to the correct account. To date this has not occurred. I then received notification about a " missed '' payment- which again was not missed. I accused additional interest and my account reflected no payment due until XX/XX/XXXX, although credit reporting reflects a missed payment in XXXX. I called Nelnet back mid XXXX after I was notified by XXXX XXXX about ht missed payment and paid an additional {$200.00} over the phone. I have not made a total of {$500.00} in payment for an amount due that is less than {$200.00}. In addition, I never received notification of a change in payment address and had been paying my student loan since XXXX without issue.

Consumer Complaint: I have federal student loans that are currently serviced through Nelnet. I'm under a standard repayment plan. I used their system to set up an autopayment. Based on their dashboard, my auto-payment should be {$610.00} a month that comes out on the 3rd of every month. For the last two months, with no notification, Nelnet has debited my account for an additional {$430.00} on the XXXX of the month even though there is nowhere on my account that says this amount is also due. I've tried to call and have never gotten through and have sent them two separate emails about the extra payment that is being taken out of my bank account. I think Nelnet is either incorrectly taking out additional money or they are not being transparent on what the monthly payment should be.

Consumer Complaint: Nelnet is my loan service provider. I am signed up for the SAVE repayment plan, and my monthly payment is supposed to be {$40.00} per month. My first month I paid {$40.00} on XX/XX/ and everything went fine. My second month I paid {$42.00} on XXXX but it did not prompt me with a minimum payment. My third month it told me my minimum payment was {$33.00}. So on XX/XX/ I paid {$34.00}. This payment went through but it said that my minimum payment was still {$33.00}. I assumed I was on the early side of the next payment cycle so on XX/XX/ I paid another {$33.00}. Now it is XXXX and they are saying that I am late on my payment and I now owe two payments of XXXX. One due immediately and the other one due on XX/XX/. I have screenshots of my payments in their system. I tried using the chat bot on their website but it just says to call them. I called them and and it said that I should just use their chat bot, and it hung up on me. Then I called back hit 0 a bunch until it said it was going to connect my but it needed my social security number. I put in my SSN and it said it was wrong, so I put it in again and then it said that I should just used the chat bot but that I can wait for a person if I wanted to, however, they are having unusual call volume so my recall time will be approximately 82 minutes. They then hung up with me after an hour and five minutes and thirty three seconds. I have the transcripts of the calls.
