Consumer Complaint: I have provided Nelnet with several requests to exercise my right under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act to no longer share any of my non personal financial information to XXXX XXXX XXXX and has given them clear and conspicuous understanding as to what information I would no longer like to be shared. Nelnet has had not taken my matter seriously as I have disputed these accounts on numerous occasions and Nelnets responds asking for the same information I have already provided them that includes my student loan account information, reasons for dispute. I have mailed in a written requests as well as sent countless emails to their enrollment processing department in which they respond asking for the same information I have already provided. I have all the email transcripts as well as the mailed in documents for proof of my opt out request. I

Consumer Complaint: To Whom It May Concern : I recently received a copy of my credit report and I noticed your furnishing an account on my consumer report that should not be on there. I demand the below accounts be deleted from my consumer report. List of accounts to be deleted. US DEPT OF EDXXXX Account number XXXX Date opened Indicates the date an account was opened XX/XX/2011 The reporting of these account ( s ) is/are violations of 15 USC 1681a, The Fair Credit Reporting Act [ 15 USC 1681 ( a ) ( 2 ) ( B ) ] : ( 2 ) Exclusions.Except as provided in paragraph ( 3 ), the term consumer report does not include ( B ) any authorization or approval of a specific extension of credit directly or indirectly by the issuer of a credit card or similar device ; So let me explain. Under the Truth in Lending Act 15 USC 1602 ( g ), credit card is defined as the following : The term credit card means any card, plate, coupon book or other credit device existing for the purpose of obtaining money, property, labor, or services on credit. This makes my social security card, drivers license/ID, and license plate credit cards that are/were used for the extension of credit. I demand this account be deleted from my consumer report. Consumer Complaint: My old company XXXX XXXX had all of my correct information my married name, current address, correct email and phone number my loans were to be transferred the end of XXXX to a new loan servicer NelNet. However once it was transferred all of my information was transferred incorrectly. NelNet had my maiden name, and the remaining information ( address, email and phone number ) was all of my parents information. I ended up needing to call to get my last name corrected and needing to send in more information for them to update my last name though it was correct on my old loan servicer. I also needed to update my address, email and phone number which was also done during the same call.

Consumer Complaint: Issue with Nelnet : I an currently three months AHEAD on payments and have submitted several additional PRINCIPAL ONLY payments. The payment slips from Nelnet are written as PRINCIPAL ONLY and PRINCIPAL ONLY is also indicated on the checks. A payment of {$500.00} on XX/XX/XXXX was credited properly as principal only. Payments on XXXX {$500.00}, XX/XX/XXXX - {$1000.00} and XX/XX/XXXX - {$500.00} were credited as partial principal and partial interest. Nelnet was contacted and I was told that all payments are split in this manner. I responded that I made additional payments in order to decrease the time and amount of my loan and was told by federal law I was not permitted to do so. That they calculated my loan to run to its expiration date. When I questioned what would occur if I paid the entire balance, I was told I would still owe all the interest. When I informed them that under both federal and New York State law I could pay principal down in order to decrease the amount of interest and the lenght of my loan I was told that I could not do so.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, XXXX, I signed on to my Nelnent online portal and increased the amount of my auto-debit from my min payment ( $ XXXX ) to $ XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX there was no auto debit from my account. 3 months of and multiple calls/chats later, my auto debit issue is fixed ( it was an issue on the Nelnet side XXXX not the bank side ). Now my monthly payment has gone up from $ XXXX to $ XXXX. Upon contacting Nelnet, it seems my loan was re-disclosed on XX/XX/XXXX and the terms changed from XXXX payments remaining in XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX payments remaining in XX/XX/XXXX. The problem is I can not afford the new terms. This seems wrong and illegal to rewrite terms that I signed many years ago. Nelnet has told me the only course of action is to either put the loans in forbearance or to do a Direct Consolidation Loan. Do I have any rights here?

Consumer Complaint: Regards, I refer to claim XXXX, which was closed by providing a generic response that was never notified on the portal or sent by mail. Right now the COVID emergency was extended until XX/XX/2022 without charging interest and without payments. I have loans with several companies and Nelnet is the only one that is billing me interest as of XX/XX/2022. XXXX account says {$96.00} I share the images extracted from the Nel net portal. I await an answer according to my complaint, thank you.
