Consumer Complaint: I submitted a letter to the XXXX Credit Bureau XX/XX/XXXX to update this suspicious information. I've talked to the bank & they've agreed to remove the account. BUT XXXX has some internal block which they're claiming they can use to not remove the account because they feel they're above the law. When questioned why they're not accepting the dispute letter they claim they have an internal policy ( which is OUTSIDE FCRA laws ) & they're unwilling to explain why they won't accept the dispute letter ( which is a FEDERAL LAW ). So XXXX feels they're above the letter of the law & will not explain their policy... Consumer Complaint: Nelnet is denying me of my rights as a consumer!! 15 U.S. Code 1681 c-2- Block of Information resulting from identity theft clearly states the information required for a consumer reporting agency to block and delete information reporting on a consumer file. [ ( a ) Block except as otherwise provided in this section, a consumer reporting agency shall block the reporting of any information in the file of a consumer that the consumer identifies as information that resulted from an alleged identity theft, not later than 4 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER the date of receipt by such agency of - ( 1 ) appropriate proof of the identity of the consumer ; - iI have provided ( 2 ) a copy of an identity theft report, I have provided ( 3 ) the identification of such information by consumer ; and I have provided ( XXXX ) a statement by the consumer that the information is not information relating to any transaction by me the consumer. Evidently, Nelnet does not comply with Federal Law and/or believes itself to be above the law. You have no right to deny me my consumer rights!! I have provided everything necessary to block this information. These are the accounts in question : Nelnet XXXX, Nelnet XXXX, Nelnet XXXX XXXX Nelnet XXXX. I have also attached the promissory note they sent me. Line XXXX is NOT my signature. Nelnet should have my signature on file and this will not be what they have. Even XXXX XXXXXXXX references are not my handwriting. Nelnet should have many samples of my signature and handwriting. This is a clear case of someone fraudulently forging my signature.

Consumer Complaint: I submitted a request to have funds returned to me in reference to the CARES act. I requested to have payments that I made during the pandemic to be refunded to me. I made the initial call on XX/XX/XXXX. I've been told this is in process and I would be kept in the loop on the status of this request. As of yesterday, it will have been 9 weeks with no status update ( via email or phone call from Nelnet ) in regards to this request. I've called multiple times and have been given different information from each agent I've spoken with ( it's in process or contact studentaid.gov ). With no movement so far, this is going beyond the window in which I was quoted ( 4 to 6 weeks ). It has now been over 9 weeks without any movement in the processing of the request, in which they stated yesterday was submitted on XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Im trying to determine the date that my request was submitted to TREASURY and the amount as well. I call Nelnet almost weekly, and they cant give me a correct date and amount. Sometimes I get XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX and they never give me the amount. When I first called and made the request, the customer service did not give any information of what was actually submitted. My initial call was on XX/XX/XXXX, and within that time I have convinced a few of my friends to request as well. They have requested mid-XXXX and early XXXX. They have already had their balance reinstated and some have gotten their checks already. Im wondering if my request has not been fully submitted or if its been sitting on somewhere. My first call has been ten weeks already. I want to know the date it was submitted to Treasury or whoever is in charge of the reinstatement, and I want to know the amount the original customer service person requested.
