Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I was granted a divorce and in that divorce my ex husband was responsible for his indebtedness to Navy Federal Credit union. He is solely responsible according to the state of Indiana where I am a legal resident and also XXXX XXXX where I am a resident. I reached out to navy federal credit Union on multiple occasions. I filed disputes with XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX unfairly refuses to remove my name from the debt. Even before the was an official ruling there was a temporary ruling assigning my ex husband initially responsible, XXXX federal did not want to hear it. That was XX/XX/XXXX. It is majorly impacting my credit score and has been for years. My ex husband chooses not to make payments regularly regardless of his obligations and it has impacted my ability to own a home for the XXXX children he has abandoned and does not consistently financially support. It is beyond unfair for XXXX XXXX to continue to negatively impact the quality of my children 's lifes for the neglect of their father, I am the only parent they have and I can not afford a home with such disregard for Indiana state law. XXXX XXXX has demanded I make the payments myself if I want the debt removed from my credit. THIS IS NOT MY DEBT.

Subissue: Reporting company used your report improperly
Consumer Complaint: In 2017 I entered into an agreement Pursuant to 15 u s c 1602 ( k ) Navy federal never provided me an adequate notice with clear and conspicuous pertinent facts of transaction, which caused me to make a uninformed decision.navy federal never informed me about the cost of credit, and the only evidence of the indebtedness was just a computer-generated agreement.according to 15 usc 1602 ( k ) the term adequate notice means a printed notice to the cardholder.further, pursuant to 15 usc 1601 ( a ) a consumer must be aware of the cost of transaction. I did not benefited from the transaction which is a violation of 15 usc 1602 ( p ) according to 15usc1602 ( p ) the term " unauthorized use '' means a use of a credit card by a person other than the cardholder who does not have actual, implied or apparent authority for such use and from which the cardholder receives no benefit.

Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: I took out a secured card at Navy Federal Credit Union ending in XXXX depositing {$200.00} to use against. The card was completely paid off and account closed on XX/XX/2022. They refuse to give me the original {$200.00} I deposited to create the card and just give poorly explained excuse after excuse as to why they can't return my rightful money -- or even use my paid off card which is still displayed as active in my banking dashboard despite being closed. They agree the card was completely paid off including all interest and still refuse to release my money or even close the account/remove it from my banking dashboard -- which should have been taken care of the day the entire amount was paid and account closed. I am surprised and disgusted by this banks actions ; literally taking $ XXXX off my back with no discernible reason as to why they can't return my money. This is malicious in nature and the only people I can get on the phone to solve this are malcontents that insist no solution exists.

Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Account opened as a result of fraud
Consumer Complaint: Sometime in XX/XX/2022, someone fraudulantly opened up Checking, Savings and Money Market accounts with Navy Federal Credit Union under my name. They even overdrew {$6600.00} from the checking account by depositing {$11000.00} and withdrawing {$18000.00}. When I received the " Welcome '' package from Navy Federal Credit Union on XX/XX/2022, I contacted and reported this as fraud to NFCU 's security department. They have advised me that I will receive a mail in 15 days to update the status of the investigation. As of today, I have not received any mail from NFCU 's security department. I keep receiving bills from their collection department for me to pay the overdrawn amount of {$6600.00}. I tried calling various times to find out the status of my claim however their wait time is about two hours that is if the phone does not disconnect by itself while holding. My main concern is the credit union 's collection department reporting to credit bureaus for non-payment of the overdrawn amount and damage my good credit history. Attached please see the relevant documents. I would appreciate if CFPB can help or assist me in this matter. Thank You,
