Consumer Complaint: When I first graduated from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/2015, I applied for the Get On Your Feet NYS Program. In order to qualify, your salary has to be under {$50000.00} a year. I met all other criteria by going to high school and college in NYS and graduated within two years. Navient was reporting to the NYS Get On Your Feet Program that I made double the salary I actually do so that I would not qualify. When I called several times to speak with Navient they always denied that they told NYS incorrect information. I am now a few years out of school and feel I lost thousands of dollars I could have saved if Navient told NYS Program my correct salary. I have attatched the email from NYS program where it stated I made {$80000.00}.

Consumer Complaint: Navient systematically fails to process Co-Borrower Release applications for private student loans. Leaving the co-borrower who received no benefit from the private student loan and received no information regarding the amount to be borrowed, the essential terms of the contract, or any information regarding their permanent and unrelenting personal liability to be released as a co-borrower. Navient has arbitrary and undisclosed policies regarding how to handle Co-borrower release applications, if they are denied and the co-borrower requests an alternative solution, Navient assigns the co-borrower a " Consumer Advocate '' who is not a neutral party nor has any discretion or authority to actually advocate for the consumer. The only option this Consumer Advocate can provide is a Co-Borrower Waiver - wherein the co-borrower is required to pay Navient to be released from further liability ; however the amount of the waiver is equal to the principal amount of the student loan. This is obviously not a meaningful or financially viable remedy and is specifically intended to prevent Co-Borrowers from being released, frustrate the process, and force Co-Borrowers into bankruptcy. Navient is a debt collector, who is assigned to collect a debt for a third party but systematically and intentionally fails to convey offers to the owner/lender/original creditor regarding Co-Borrower Release Applications or Waivers. This process is unethical and illegal because Navient has no authority to conduct business in this matter, routinely fails to mitigate damages, and enforces contracts wherein the Co-Borrower was fraudulently induced to accept the terms that were nebulous at best.

Consumer Complaint: I am working towards Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ). I have been employed full time by a XXXX XXXX since XXXX. When I first got into my repayment plan in XXXX, I told Navient representatives that I would be working towards PSLF. I was enrolled in an income based repayment plan at that time and over the next several years I was assured multiple times that I was on track to have my loans forgiven after the 120 payments were received. In XXXX, half of my federal loans were transferred to XXXX. I didn't even realize that they had only taken half of my loans because I still had several private loans being managed by Navient. In XXXX, I called XXXX to question why they had only taken half of my loans. I was informed that half of my federal loans were direct loans and half of them were FFEL ( the wrong kind of loan for PSLF ). Nobody had ever informed me of this. I was able to simply consolidate my FFEL loans and start working towards PSLF on those loans. So now, half of my federal loans are on track to be forgiven in XXXX and the other half won't be forgiven until XXXX. This is despite working full time, for a government agency, making on time payments the entire time. That is 4 years of interest and payments that I can't afford to make.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: For all three credit bureaus, my 8 active loans with Dept of Ed/Navient are reporting as 90 days late for the month of XX/XX/2018. Previously, the accounts were showing as late for XXXX, XXXX as well, however the bureaus received receipt of my deferment and updates the information. The inaccuracy is that my deferment has been effective since XX/XX/2018, therefore no single account should have any late payment history as no payments are due when the account is in deferment. When contacting the credit bureaus, the response I get is that Navient has to update the information. When contacting Navient, I am told that the bureaus can see the date effective on the deferment and should update my reports accordingly.

The letter formally request for all pertinent information association with this sale date, time, and accounting be disclosed and a full disclosure of the financial ramification for the sale to the borrower be provided. Navient responded with a vague and contradictory letter stating there was no loan sale.I wrote a second letter to Navient on XX/XX/2019 declaring the response was unacceptable and none of the information originally requested was provided. To date i have not received a response.

Consumer Complaint: I have my student loans through Sallie Mae/Navient. I work in a high needs district and after working 5 years requested a loan forgiveness which they denied. They told me my loan I was requesting to be forgiven was consolidated with one that was taken out before XXXX making it ineligible. I never requested a consolidation as I knew I would be requesting the load to be forgiven. They automatically consolidated it when I applied for a 2nd load to get my masters. I asked for documentation to show this and all they sent me was a single page with an electronic signature in my maiden name when at the time I took out the loan I was married. I have been paying on these loans since XXXX and still owe the amount practically the amount originally borrowed for my education. I've paid roughly 500.00 a month for 20 years.
