Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I receive multiple phone calls from Navient regarding a student loan that I do not have, I have sent certified letters with tracking requesting validation of the debt or to be removed from all contact lists and they have ignored my letters and continue to call me, I have also called them using one of the phone numbers they call me from ( XXXX ) and they are not able to validate any loan with either my name or phone number.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I started full sail in XXXX through XXXX, I had to take a medical leave to go to a rehab. I sent in a notice as per their policy to let them know I needed a medical leave from school so I can get the medical help I needed, I wrote a letter to them. They never informed me, but when I got out of the rehab I was in my status of loans was kicked in already because they withdrew me from my classes without even telling me, so that's how this all started. Then over the years I called them numerous times to explain my loans should have never been kicked in because I was on a medical leave and was supposed to be able to start my classes again after I got out of rehab and they refused to help me what so ever. Now the loans are with navient and XXXX the top 2 deceptive loan servicers, just the other day I called navient to try to reenter into a income driven repayment plan but the agent I spoke with steered me into a forbearance threatening that if I didn't do that late payments would be reported to my credit file which is all messed up already with being victim to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX breaches, I'm working with a credit restoration company to try to fix my credit file because me and my fiance are trying to get a home for our family. I'm not sure of the amounts but I know from looking at my credit report that the interest on my loans is the only thing being added to my loans, because every month the interest being capitalized on my loans goes up by the thousands and is hurting my scores in the process, now that after the last agent I spoke with who tricked me into a forbearance looking back on that call they never told me about any other options and never told me that I'd be having payments I cant afford or that they would be reporting negatively to the credit beauraus so what they did was unethical and irresponsible I just want what's fair.

Consumer Complaint: I have recently filed a claim with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. ( Case # XXXX ) Navient refused the claim stating that this complaint lists someone the company does not recognize as their customer or their customers authorized representative. Not only is this a completely false statement, it is in fact, the essence of my complaint against Navient. Navient has been authorized to speak with XXXX XXXX on more than one occasion and has spoken to XXXX XXXX on more than one occasion regarding the loans in question. Further, enclosed with the original complaint, was a Power of Attorney authorizing XXXX XXXX to act on my behalf. LET ME BE CLEAR, by this letter, I am formally authorizing XXXX XXXX to handle ANY aspect of my claim against Navient and to discuss, negotiate, settle or take any action he deems necessary with regard to any student loans in my name with Navient. The aforementioned Power of Attorney has never been revoked and remains in full force and effect ; therefore, representatives from Navient and its related entities, as well as representatives from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau may deal with XXXX XXXX as if they are dealing directly with me. Navients refusal to deal with XXXX XXXX regarding this complaint is a continuation of Navients deliberate attempt to disassociate XXXX XXXX from the Parent Loans we took out for our childrens education, thus preventing us from taking advantage of any benefits offered to XXXX veterans. Navient has been aware of XXXX XXXX status as a veteran since the first FAFSA application was filed and for every FAFSA application since. For this reason, Navient deliberately left his name off of all the student loans. By doing this, they could deny us the benefit of loan forgiveness for XXXX veterans and more insidiously, could deny us the benefit of loan forgiveness at his death. As it is a statistical probability that he will die first, thus terminating the loans, Navient chose to issue the loans with no mention of his involvement. It serves their purpose to keep a widow on the hook in order to collect loan payments for a longer period of time. Under the terms of these loans, this longer period of time would be for the duration of my life. Based on my research, this appears to be Navients standard operating procedure. The only options for relief offered by Navient result in loans being consolidated at predatory interest rates extending into perpetuity. If you want to pay your bills and try to keep a decent credit score, prepare to sign away any benefit a college education might afford you. I demand that Navient recognize that XXXX XXXX is equally responsible for the Parent Loans we took out together for the education of our children and afford him the benefits available to all 100 % XXXX veterans. Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/19 I called navient to see about getting my payments increased so I could pay my student loans faster as I saw that in the 3 years I have been paying them they have not got down in terms of amount owed. The person I spoke with said that the only way to increase my payment was through additional paperwork as I am on an " income driven repayment plan ''. I then told the customer service rep that I would like to pay around XXXX $ A month and she said the highest I could pay a month is XXXX . She then told me I could place my account in forbearance. I had sent in an application for borrowers defense and they immediately put my account in forbearance and I had called and told them no, I want to continue to pay the loan until my application was processed. I had to argue with them to continue to repay my loans instead of being put into forbearance.

Consumer Complaint: I lost my job due to recession in 2010. My family had to move from XXXX to XXXX to start over, we even filed bankruptcy 2 years ago. I have went from owing Naviet {$30000.00} to now owing over {$60000.00} due to taking forbearance because of job loss. I would have rather paid smaller payments, but they did not give me that option. They have tacked on {$30000.00} in fees making it almost impossible to repay!
