Subissue: Problem with customer service
Consumer Complaint: I previously filed a complaint with the CFPB on XXXX. Complaint # XXXX. It was supposedly resolved on XXXX. They promised to correct their mistake and remove my information from their files. They promised me personally over the phone on XXXX as well as your Bureau on XXXX. They have started to contact me again on XXXX. This was an email from XXXX. They demanded I contact them by XXXX XXXX today to make payment arrangements on account. As you can see from previous complaint, I have NEVER had a student loan my entire life. Obviously they are harassing me and does not worry about CFPB doing anything to them. Maybe something can be done this time.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: Navient called me on XX/XX/2020 at XXXX XXXX on my personal cell phone in regards to my estranged sister 's student loan debt. I do not own this debt. I am not a cosigner. I am not affiliated in any shape or form with this debt. On Friday XX/XX/2020 they sent multiple text messages from XXXX in regards to paying off the loan. There was no mention of my sister. The messages were written in a way that assumes it is my student loan debt. They have called every day since XX/XX/2020. I have their number blocked using third party robocall blocking software but I can still see they are dialing. They are also harassing other family members who are not affiliated with the debt in any shape or form. My aunt received a letter about the loan as well.

Consumer Complaint: I had first notice on my loan that they're are multipul disbursements with the same amount 15 days in the same month which that didn't make any sense. The disbursement begins on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX then another disbursement on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX then another disbursement on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX and another disbursement on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX ; then on 3 months after XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX ; the another disbursement on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX and 3 months later XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX ; then another disbursement on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX ; then another disbursement on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX ; then another disbursement on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX and again another disbursement on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX. When I ask Navient questions they always make excuses and say they can't do anything about it because they're not the one who made any mistakes it was Sallie Mae. Every 3 months they had did a disbursement which I never saw that before. They need to fix this problem and find our why I was charged double and why should I repay this student loan that I never knew it had cost me more then what the school was worth. My loans are way more then what I had studied and was stated by the school that their tuition was only XXXX for the four years I was there and it was more that was anticipated.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: Starting in XX/XX/XXXX, I began making extra payments on my student loans FFELP through Navient. When trying to determine how to pay down the Principal on my loans to decrease the amount of interest. The selection are extremely misleading on which option will make that happen. The website has 2 options : 1 ) No, Advance my due date by the number of payments I cover. Even if you have XXXX amount due on your billing statement, CONTINUING TO MAKE PAYMENTS WILL REDUCE YOUR TOTAL COST OF BORROWING. or 2 ) Yes, Bill me for my full monthly payment. You will be required to make a full monthly payment with your next billing statement. The statement in option # 1 " WILL REDUCE YOUR TOTAL COST OF BORROWING '' leads the average individual to believe this will decrease the amount of interest being paid for the life of the loan. After reviewing my account and how the extra payments are being applied I started online research ( 1 hour ) to determine how to make " Principal only '' payments on Navient, I found out that my selection should be option # 2. I have begun email communication today XX/XX/XXXX to find out if my 3 overpayments XX/XX/XXXX ( {$100.00} ), XX/XX/XXXX ( {$100.00} ) and XX/XX/XXXX ( {$480.00} ) can be applied to " Prinicipal Only ''. I'm currently waiting to hear if this can be done, since I had selected the wrong option for overpayments - due to their misleading information on the website. I corrected my option to # 2 for future payments on XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I received documentation from an unknown student loan servicer " Navient '' who will not address my concerns about this demand for payment without producing an original promissory note etc. ( view my attachment letter ). Navient has been misleading, reluctant to address my concerns, deceptive and attempts to collect payments without verification of debt.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: Good morning & happy Saturday! - How are you doing? I was shocked today when I reviewed my credit report today and found late payment remarks for my 10-15 student loan for NAVIENT. I've already disputed these accounts and nothing was sent to me to legally verify the accuracy and legitimacy of this reporting. It continues to report incomplete, inaccurate, and unverifiable information, and therefore, it's impossible that it was investigated and verified as being accurate - These accounts are illegally reporting on my credit report or profile. For example, hows it possible that youve reported me 90 days late with no late payments prior to that like the 30 and 60 days, and questionable balance still reporting? Also, wasn't Navient student loan servicer sued for not applying payments to consumers accounts correctly by cfpb before. This is reporting in violation of my rights and honestly, i don't want to waste your time nor mine going back and forth, and I would like this removed from my credit as I was never late the way you're reporting it.

Consumer Complaint: I received notice from XXXX XXXX that my XXXX credit report showed an increased balance due to Navient Student Loans. I called Navient to inquire how my balance had gone up. Their reply was that since I was again a student that my loan had automatically been deferred by the system. I explained to the customer service rep at Navient that I was never informed that I could defer my loan, that I never requested that my loan be deferred, and that I never authorized my loan to be deferred, additionally I wasn't notified by Navient or by the school that it had been deferred. I told the Navient rep that this wasn't ethical nor did I believe it to be legal. I have filed a complaint with the US Dept of Ed today. I refuse to pay the additional interest that I never agreed to pay nor did I request. I've been on auto pay out of my checking account for years and I have changed nothing in that regard.
