Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, my partner and I attempted to apply for a mortgage loan and discovered that National Credit Systems had placed a collection mark on my credit report which I was unaware of prior to that date. I attempted to talk to the company over the phone several times regarding this debt to find out more information and possibly negotiate a good faith deletion but was told repeatedly that the person I needed to speak with was unavailable and the person I did speak with refused to assist me in any way. I checked my records and found that ( as of the time of this complaint ) I have not received any documentation regarding this debt, including any Letters of Validation. In response, on XX/XX/2023, I mailed a Request for Verification letter to the company via certified mail and verified that they signed for and received this letter successfully on XX/XX/2023. From what I have understood, according to the FDCPA, a collection company is required upon receipt of this letter to cease all attempts to collect this debt and remove the negative mark on my credit report during the 30 day period that they have to provide proper documentation on this supposed debt. I emailed the company on XX/XX/2023 to follow up on the Request for Verification that was sent but have not received any replies to that email or calls or letters whatsoever. At this point, there has been no validation of this debt and my ability to apply for a mortgage is being held hostage due to this company 's unresponsiveness and failure to comply with federal law. I have documented proof of the actions and dates of the events mentioned herein and am requesting assistance with getting this resolved. Please help!

Consumer Complaint: National Credit Systems submitted a claim of {$700.00} on XX/XX/XXXX purportedly on behalf of my last landlord in XXXX, XXXX by the name of XXXX XXXX. I had rented in XXXX XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX till XX/XX/XXXX. Paid all the utility bills and left the place pristine clear. Instead of refunding my deposit of {$300.00} or {$400.00}, they asked me first to pay {$150.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. I refused to pay a fake charges of {$300.00} and instead requested for refund. For last several months through XXXX I have disputed both the charges as well as the inflated demand of {$700.00}. Even if I have believe to charges - the charges was for {$300.00} not {$700.00} and demand amount in XX/XX/XXXX was for {$150.00}. ( I have emails supporting my claims ). I was targeted for being a minority. I have troves of emails from XXXX, XXXX when landlord demanded {$150.00}. I had credit score close to XXXX which was accumulated over my stay in XXXX over last two decades. With fake collection amount of {$700.00} they destroyed my credit to mid XXXX 's.
