Issue: Disclosure verification of debt
Subissue: Not given enough info to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I have asked National Credit System to validate a collection they are reporting on my credit reports on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and they have failed to provide anything that would support the fact that they are attempting to collect interest on a debt without an agreement or contract. Nor have they supplied anything other than a statement on XXXX of the collections. I told them that I would be reporting them to you but they obviously do n't fear you because they failed to delete themselves or answer questions about the debt ( s ) that they are using to damage me financially. Its damaging my credit and it is important to me.

Consumer Complaint: in 2011 XXXX located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, OH XXXX charged me {$3900.00} for an apartments i co-signed with my ex wife. First, They refused to show my wife the apartment before signing the lease. After signing the lease the actual apartment was filthy, muddy and had sign of roaches. My ex-wife asked to cancel and they refused. They stated they would charge us XXXX months of rent regardless they rent the place the next day. They did surprisingly. It 's been reported on my credit with National Credit System, a collection company. When i contacted the manager for XXXX XXXX they refused to talk and stated i would have to talk to the collection agency. This is a violation of my rights as a peaceful citizen and a tax payer. This is a fraud since they key was never handed to us and we never had to move either since they refused to show us another apartment or even cancel the lease which they promised to do if we did not like the apartment. This place is a total bluff and a scam.

Consumer Complaint: I was told by the leasing agent of an apartment complex that there would only be a {$600.00} penalty if I broke the one year lease. This would be paid by surrendering my security deposit which was {$600.00}. there was no mention of a Buy-Out Option Settlement agreement at the contracting phase. However, upon giving my thirty-day notice four month into the contract, I was asked to sign a settlement agreement for {$3100.00}. I lined-out that amount and wrote into the agreement the {$600.00} that I was quoted upon leasing the apartment. The apartment manager approved the agreement form as modified with her signature, and then took the {$600.00} deposit as payment. Two months later, however, I was contacted by a collection agency claiming that I owed the apartment complex {$3100.00}. I sent them the modified Buy-Out agreement for the {$600.00}, and the notice that the {$600.00} had been collect by the apartment manager. Since then, I have been constantly hounded and threatened by the collection agency for the last five months attempting to collect a much larger amount of {$6800.00}. I am now being threatened to have my good credit destroyed by placing this false delinquency with the three major credit bureaus. I 'm asking your agency to advocate for me in this matter so that my good credit will not be effect by a overzealous collection agency, and have the unjust harassment stopped.

Consumer Complaint: Client was evicted from an apartment after rent was withheld because of livability issues. The eviction went through the court process and a judgement was entered for {$1300.00} plus court costs. On the credit report, a separate debt collector is attempting to collect {$3700.00} for the same incident. A debt collector should not be able to collect on a debt that has already gone through the court process and furthermore they should n't be able to ask for an amount that is exponentially higher than the judgement amount.

Consumer Complaint: I did not receive notice of debt from the primary party upon moving from my apartment. My credit report was pulled and it showed as a derogatory amount owed to a collection company. I reached out to the primary party with concerns as to why this was reported, and why I owed them, they stated it was from minor cleaning, and carpet shampooing when I moved, and stated they were no longer able to assist with clearing it to contact NCS. I contacted NCS several times and was told that if the primary party requested it to be deleted they would do so. The primary party then contacted them and asked for it to be deleted and they are refusing to do so. One customer service rep. Stated that I should just pay it and let the {$0.00} balance be reflected on my credit report, he went on to state that even if the primary party asked for it to be deleted, they will not do so because they filed it with the collection agency. I have been yelled at, hung up on, and received unethical advice from this collections agency. I was not greeted or spoke to in a calm and professional matter. I did not receive the ability to resolve the debt in a fair & professional way.
