Consumer Complaint: I scheduled a appointment with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX at Keybank XXXX XXXX XXXX. To discuss my unemployment benefits account set up thru Dept of labor. I wait out side on line when I got in side at XX/XX/XXXX no one was there. I called numerous times only to get disconnected after waiting 2 hrs on hold each time. Finally I speak to a nice guy named XXXX, I explain that I have {$6000.00}. in my checking account and requested my account number. He did not have access to my information. I have no Account number, no Debit card, no money. And in order to get a supervisor to call me back I have to pay a fee. My Unemployment benefits have been held hostage in KeyBank since XX/XX/2020.

Consumer Complaint: This is the second complaint I am filing. The first investigation that I filed with you was a fail, you provided me nothing but bogus information from " XXXX XXXX ''. I tried taking matters into my own hands and called " KEY BANK '' directly. The man I spoke to had a hard time finding me, he asked for my SSN and full name to attempt to locate " my account '' he said my DOB, SSN and name or email did NOT match what he had in the system and asked me to update my information. I told him there was a mistake and that I would not update any of that information since its obvious im not the person responsible for the debt. My wife tried to talk to him and asked him if he can transfer our call to the ID Theft department or if we can fill out the proper paperwork for that. He told us he could NOT help us since the information did not match. This is unbelievable. On my credit report it shows that I was Authorized, I never agreed to be authorized nor did i even know I was until I pulled my credit. I filed a police report. I don't know what else to do since im limited with Key Bank due to the inaccurate information and they don't even want to escalate the call since my information does not match their records.

Consumer Complaint: My ex-wife and I opened a KeyBank joint checking account in approx. XXXX. The account apparently had overdraft protection. In XXXX, I was commissioned as an XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and my family and I were transferred to XXXX. There were no KeyBank locations in the country ( not surprising ) and, therefore, we changed our bank to one that had a presence on the base. We attempted to close the KeyBank account but were told that we had to do that in person -- which, obviously, we could not do. We stopped using the account and had all of our associated auto payments stopped and transferred to our new account. We did not believe we had any money left in the account and that it was effectively closed. In XX/XX/XXXX, I received a phone call from KeyBank, informing me that they were attempting to collect a debt. I was very confused, because we had not used KeyBank in well over a decade. The representative informed me that I owed the bank approx. {$2500.00}. After MANY phone calls with the bank, I have finally been informed that this balance stems from a $ XXXX-per-month auto payment on two XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX policies for me and my wife. It appears that there still was enough money in the checking account to cover these premium payments for several years, but once those funds were depleted, the bank began applying overdraft. This went on for YEARS, without the bank ever informing me or my ex-wife. We have been assessed hundreds of dollars in overdraft fees, late fees, interest, etc., and were not informed of any of this activity until the XX/XX/XXXX phone call to " collect a debt. '' In the meantime, KeyBank has reported this debt to the various collection agencies, which has obliterated our credit. In my conversations with the bank, I have expressed my willingness to cover the cost of the insurance premiums, but I have respectfully asked that the bank waive the overdraft fees, late fees, and interest given the extenuating circumstances -- namely, that this issue arose through a combination of my family and I being stationed overseas ( and unable to close the account due to KeyBank 's unreasonable in-person requirement ), the bank continuing to assess all kinds of fees and penalties for YEARS, and the failure to notify me or my wife until the bank attempted to collect a debt of which we were not even aware. To date, KeyBank has been completely uncooperative.

Consumer Complaint: Key Bank reported my credit card as 30 days late in XX/XX/XXXX. I have NEVER been 30 days late. I have called Key Bank 3 separate times, and each time they investigated the account and agreed that the account was never 30 days late. They assured me that the late would be removed from all 3 credit bureaus. The last call was in XX/XX/XXXX and as of today, XX/XX/XXXX, it still has not been corrected. This has caused my credit score to drop. I am attaching my payment history for the past 12 months to show the on time payments.

Consumer Complaint: I decided to refinance with a different bank but Key bank is not responding once they knew about it. I requested KeyBank for their permission to use the appraisal done ( paid by me at {$500.00} ) but I am not getting any responses back. I reached out to them on XXXX Its very unprofessional for them to treat customer this way once they knew they are not getting the business for the mortgage refinance. I was professional enough to let them know the change in direction as the rate was higher compared to the other bank I decide to go with.
