Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I wrote a check from my Chase account and mailed it at a post office. The check was then fraudulently endorsed and cashed on XX/XX/2023. The person who fraudulently endorsed and cashed the original check then created 4 fake checks using my signature and cashed these checks at a Chase account. Chase has reimbursed me for the 4 fake checks that hit my account, but still has not reimbursed me for the funds on the original check despite my repeated requests for them to do so. I have called them several times and visited the XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). They said they can't do it until their investigation is complete, despite this being a very clear case. I insist that they return the funds immediately and I strongly suggest that their practices be review as they did not offer me even a minimal level of protection by cashing a check with a name on the back of the check that did not match the front ( please see the attached picture of the front and back of the check ). This was clearly fraudulent and anyone who had taken a look at the check would have realized this. I have been greatly inconvenienced by this.

Consumer Complaint: as of XX/XX/XXXX this year 2023 Chase bank ( jp morgan ) double charged my wife 's ( XXXX XXXX ) bank account in the amount of {$1100.00}, my wife did not have the funds for which Chase bank transferred the fund twice ( double payment ) on XX/XX/XXXX of this year 2023 resulting in a tranfer to my checking account of {$2200.00} from wife 's account. We contacted Chase bank both myself and my wife and notified Chase bank on XX/XX/XXXX of this year 2023. Chase bank declined acknowledge their mistake, instead Chase bank was blaming us their customer for their own mistake then Chase bank credited my wife 's account in the amount of {$1100.00} on XX/XX/XXXX of this year 2023. Chase bank then cause my checking account to go negative- {$10000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX of this year 2023. Again i contacted Chase bank and was advised i caused this issue, again Chase bank did not acknowledge their mistake and Chase bank did not warn me or let me know other charges would be returned. This happened after i made my credit card payment to XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX of this 2023 the funds were taken out by Chase bank on XX/XX/XXXX of this year 2023 causing my account to be negative but that charge was returned never credited in my account and Chase bank also charged me insufficient funds fee of {$34.00} for that transaction but the fund of {$450.00} from XXXX XXXX was never returned by Chase bank back into my account. Today XX/XX/XXXX i called Chase and again they were accusing me of causing my own account to go negative. I don't understand how Chase can take advantage of their customers with their own mistake, they need to return my funds of {$450.00} immediately and without excuses.

However, I recently learned that XXXX has also been charging me 19 months in a row for the original account despite the access not being USED or PROVIDED. XXXX would only refund me XXXX x 2 mo. Consumer Complaint: Two years ago, XX/XX/2021, I was victim to financial fraud for a sublease apartment that was a false advertisement/ scam. I applied for the apartment, as is common practice, giving them my personal information and also sent them four rent deposit payments through Chase BankXXXX for the sum of {$4800.00}. I was persuaded and sent the payment under false pretenses. Once the payments were sent, the apartment lender stopped contact and never fulfilled the apartment agreement. I contacted Chase Bank immediately to stop or intercept the payments, however, Chase said they would not be able to help me ( Claim Number : XXXX ). I also immediately contacted XXXX however they said I would need to contact my financial institution ( Chase ) to dispute the charges. No action was taken to help me and I was caught in the gap between the two financial services. Because of the seriousness of the issue, I opened a case with the Police Department and reported it to the IC3 ( internet crime complaint center ) run by the FBI. The police department detective never resolved the case/ discovered who the perpetrator was, saying that because the bank facilitated the transaction, they should have the information on the perpetrator. However, the bank did not or said they could not disclose that information to me. At the time, due to covid, I did not have resources beyond this to investigate the issue. I looked up that while other money transfer options like XXXX are not FDIC-Insured, XXXX is directly affiliated with my bank and account. I am filing a claim with CFPB because I also looked up that under 12 CFR Part 1005 - Electronic Fund Transfers ( Regulation E ) by the Federal Reserve Board consumers should be protected from accidental transfers and forms of fraud when they use electronic fund and remittance transfers.

Consumer Complaint: Chase Bank, who arbitrarily and capriciously closed my checking ( 2 ) and credit card account effective XX/XX/XXXX, due to retaliation for complaining of discrimination when the VP of the XXXX, Illinois branch treated and proceeded to call the police on me instead of directing me to file a complaint with Chase Executive Offices regard XXXX XXXX, whom discriminated against me in their store, who agreed to waive all fees and deposits associated with a tiller rental, but then decided to bill my checking account for {$50.00} and {$150.00}, in which only {$150.00} was returned in a timely manner. The VP XXXX XXXX. She lied yo the police and accused me of using 'racial slurs ' when that was not turn, and the officer refused to review the security footage which shows me leaving the bank. XXXX did not put me on a no-tresspass list at the time ; however, after filing a complaint against her with Chase Executuve office , I was informed on XX/XX/XXXX after discovering my credit card account was closed and I was unable to get funds from my account at the bank, that they were closing all of my account XX/XX/XXXX, though the took steps to restrict access to my account and close two of the three of my accounts prior to that date. This is summarized in a previous complaint : XXXX. However, since the first complaint, XXXX discovered that Chase not only had been illegally monitoring my account, but comprised my personal information when they alerted me in XX/XX/XXXX that my information had been released on the dark web, in an attempt to further harass me and cause me distress, as Chase had no business monitoring any of my accounts if we no longer have a banking relationship and most likely released this information themselves due to further retaliation, since they never provided me an opportunity to enter into a repayment plan for my credit card account, which stayed open until they charged it off on XX/XX/XXXX, and they reported my late to the credit bureau for six months. They kept assessing late fees which made it hard to pay my bill, and would not allow me to enter into a repayment plan. XXXX had never been late on her credit card payment in the nine years she has had her credit card with Chase, and has damaged credit as a result of their bad faith, and mailcious retaliation for complaining about discrimination ( 'banking while XXXX ' ), at their branch by their VP XXXX XXXX .

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Back on XX/XX/2023 a fraudulent charge showed up on my Chase credit card statement for {$370.00} from a merchant called XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have never joined a travel club so I tried to XXXX the name of the merchant ( attachment ) and nothing came up. I then tried to call the number for XXXX XXXX XXXX that appeared on my Chase statement ( XXXX ) and the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service. I disputed the charge with Chase Fraud Department and their investigation came back as a legitimate charge because they said XXXX XXXX XXXX provided Chase with my personal information ( name, home address and email address ) so Chase said I am responsible for the charges. After pressing the Chase Fraud representative further, she said that XXXX XXXX XXXX was doing business under the name of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and that the services I received were a media consultation and web design services. I asked the Chase representative if they have a legitimate contact number I could call the merchant and they said the information they have is not to be given out. I explained to the Chase representative that I have never sought out any media help nor have I ever spoken to a person for a consultation or received any web design services. So I disputed the charges a second time on XX/XX/2023. Then a week later on Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX, I received an electronic notification on my Chase account that they have again sided with the Merchant and I am responsible for the charges because XXXX XXXX XXXX proved Chase with my name, address and email address.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, I was coerced to wire transfer money from my Chase Business account to help another business with a promise that once the project was finished, I would receive my money with interest, It was a scam, I contacted Chase and filed a complaint and also went to a local bank. As quickly as they were to release my funds, they should have helped me to recover. I rely on XXXX XXXX and long-term XXXX.
