Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: on XX/XX/2023, my cellphone can not call out. I contacted them to ask for reason, and was told that my auto-payment didn't get through. So I loggin my bank account to check what is going on and suddenly see my Chase freedom credit card account is closed. Then I called chase credit card customer service number to find out reason, they have transfered me 4 to 5 times, put me on hold from XXXX to XXXX, then finally someone just tell me it's Chase decision to close my account with a very bad attitude, even I told her I have not only my personal checking account, but also our business account with Chase. I am the Chase customer over 15 years and have that credit card for over 10 year, always pay on time by autopay from my Chase debit account, it's so ridiculous and unrespectful to just close a loyal customer 's account without any notice.

Ive been banking with chase now for over 13 years and they closed all my debit accounts, including accounts where i am just an authorized user and not the account holder.

Consumer Complaint: Received letter in the mail stating " After careful consideration, we decided to close your credit card accounts on XX/XX/23 because of unexpected activity on these or another chase account '' I have not used these cards in any unordinary fashion. This notice comes at a complete surprise to me, as I've been regularly making payments on these cards and their balances weren't anywhere close to the limit.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I deposited a {$40000.00} check at Chase, and they immediately restricted my account and my access to all of my funds, not just the check. After a month of exhaustive attempts at getting Chase to verify the check, they closed my account. They refuse to return the money to the funding bank, they have made us jump through every hoop imaginable, just to say no again. We are fairly confident that Chase is committing fraud against me. Even after closing my account, they are still holding onto the funds despite XXXX requesting them back.

Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: XXXX months ago, I moved from XXXX XXXX to XXXX on XXXX orders. Before I moved to XXXX XXXX, I lived in the XXXX, where I registered for a Chase Sapphire card back in XXXX. I have used this card since then in the XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. Last month, on XX/XX/XXXX, I bought XXXX tickets online for XXXX XXXX using this card, and Chase froze the card and did not let the purchase go through, despite being abroad in XXXX and XXXX for almost 2 years. I called their customer service to unlock the card, but it was stated that to verify my identity, I must have a XXXX phone number. I have not had a XXXX phone number since XXXX, and the one i have on file with Chase is currently a XXXX phone number. The customer service representatives would not allow another way to verify my identity and my account has been locked since. I tried calling again that day, and the customer service gave me the same response, saying that a representative will reach out to me in XXXX hours. I was never contacted by phone or email which are on file. I called again on XX/XX/XXXX, with the same responses. A representative still never reached out to me ever. I called again XXXX XXXX and was able to talk to the customer protection department, and despite answering alll of my security questions correctly, I was told I must have a XXXX phone number and a representative will reach out to me in XXXX hours. I asked to close the account, and I was told i was not allowed to since the account is locked. I was provided no other means, and the customer service hung up on me despite pleading for another way. It has been XXXX hours, after a month of trying, and Chase has locked me out of my credit card account with no way to use it or close it. I can not even use {$740.00} in travel points because i apparently must use my chase card to do so. I can provide all information on the account in order to get this resolved.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from chase bank ( which I later learned the phone number was manipulated ) and a man asked me my name, confirmed my card number, and stated someone in NY was attempting to purchase {$900.00} worth at a macys which I said I did not authorize they asked for my pin which I did not give and hung up immediately. I called chase to see if they called me to which they said they did not. I received suspicious emails shortly after from a fake chase email which looked legit and I did not respond. Shortly after I noticed XXXX wine withdrew {$2400.00} from my bank account at a chase atm in XXXX XXXX. I called chase to report the unauthorized transaction and they froze the account sent me a new debit card and they didnt credit me my stolen money back. On XX/XX/XXXX I called chase and they stated the claim was closed I immediately asked how and they said someone used a digital wallet to steal my money theh credit me the money back and on XX/XX/XXXX they took the money all back and Im left with {$30.00} in my bank account. Ive been a chase customer for over 10 years. They said they closed the claim and took my hard earned money back because the criminals used a pin to access my money. They refuse to pull up footage at their own branch which would show its not me. Chase bank are thieves and dont back up their loyal customers nor protect them from theft. I have nothing now I never gave my pin our no one accessed my phone I was hacked and they could care less.

Consumer Complaint: My daughter had a checking and savings account and her and I had a joint checking account. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX I noticed a large amount transferred from my daughter 's accounts into the joint account. I asked her if she did this and she said no. She then did a transfer back into only her accounts. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX I noticed all the money in the joint account gone. I immediately went into Chase bank and initiated a claim. The personal banker could see that a wire transfer had been initiated by someone neither my daughter or I know out in XXXX Florida. My daughter ( lives in a different state ) went to a local branch and initiated a claim as well. The wire transfer was for {$12000.00} to a XXXX XXXX. Over the ensuing months we both had to repeatedly file the same paperwork. No response was coming from Chase. We had it expedited several times. Finally on XX/XX/XXXX my daughter received a check in the amount of {$6700.00}. This is {$5800.00} short. We continued to try to have the rest of our stolen money back from Chase and they refuse.
