Consumer Complaint: I received a notice of taxes not paid for 2020 ( school taxes ) I called freedom mortgage on XX/XX/XXXX to let them know they had not paid my taxes for 2020 even though they had taken it out of escrow. A week later I called them back to check on the matter and they said to call back XX/XX/XXXX. So i called back and had to talk to 8 different people until i could find someone willing to look into it. In the mean time I also called XXXX tax office and found out that freedom had sent a check in XXXX for the wrong amount so the check was sent back and they never put the money back into my escrow account and never resent the proper amount ... the original charge was XXXX cents they only sent a check for XXXX and when it was sent back never fixed the issue. They dont seem too concerned with helping me and now the tax bill is over XXXX this is so.embarassing for me. I have never been late on a bill ... also very stressful because where is my XXXX? I really need help with this matter thanks so much

Consumer Complaint: I am a 100 percent XXXX veteran. I have a tax exemption that began partially XXXX and all of XXXX. This exemption will be permanent moving forward in the amount of {$140000.00}. My mortgage lender Freedom Mortgage is declining to correct my escrow payment amount and has increased my mortgage. I spoke with their tax department ( XXXX ) and we did a three way call to the XXXX XXXX Tax Assessors office and spoke with the supervisor their XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX who confirmed that indeed I was approved and had a tax exemption in the above referenced amount. Freedom states that they can not make the necessary corrections unless the tax assessors office sends a new tax bill. The Tax Assessors office contends that they will not send a new tax bill until XXXX. In the meantime, I a XXXX veteran suffers in the middle of a pandemic because No One is willing to assist or go above the call of duty. I'm stuck paying a higher mortgage payment or choosing to be homeless or foodless. I have sent over the letter from The Tax Assessors Office twice to Freedom Mortgage all to no avail.

Consumer Complaint: I was called around XXXX this morning by Freedom Mortgage. They said my mortgage is overdue and need to pay immediately. I set my mortgage date for the 4th every month and today is the 4th. My mortgage is not late. Then they said its does not become overdue until the 16th of the month. This company is ruthless! I got back from work at XXXX in the morning. I dont need a company to wake me up and disturb my precious sleep which I need fkr my health, especially during a PANDEMIC! It took me 9 months to refinance my veteran loan ( I am a XXXX veteran ). I made dozens of calls to them to move the loan through. To no avail. Yet, now, they have the nerve to wake me up from precious sleep to tell me what I already know. So I paid. Confirmation # XXXX This company emotionally disturbs me.

My credit union inadvertently sent ( 2 ) two payments after the mortgage was closed w/Freedom Mortgage ( 1 ) one payment was sent for the amount {$710.00} on XX/XX/XXXX another payment for {$710.00} was sent XX/XX/XXXX called Freedom Mortgage XX/XX/XXXX to find if they received the first payment Freedom Mortgage acknowledge they had received the payment and would put the money back into my account did no specify a date. call them several before the second payment was taken out XX/XX/XXXX. ( 3 ) three since the second payment was taken out got the same answer they would refund the total {$1400.00} back in to my account as of today XX/XX/XXXX the money has not been put in my account. They told me they will not pay them until a day before they become delinquent with the county. Freedom Mortgage is upset I am doing a re fi with another mortgage company for a lower interest rate and they are harassing me and my family. I paid my home owners insurance in advance for a year and they did not inform my mortgage company that I did that. My wife received several harassing phone calls from the Freedom Mortgage about my month payment which is paid every two weeks by payroll deduction directly to Freedom Mortgage.

Consumer Complaint: Ive been applying monthly for loss mitigation with Freedom Mortgage since XXXX Ive reported this to CFPB several times. First Freedom Mortgage told me I received 3 loan modifications from them so they denied me. Freedom Mortgage said they crossed my file with someone else file, their mistake they told me. Called me so we 3 way XXXX XXXX XXXX to verify my non existent checking account, My last application was for the pandemic unemployment loan modification, even though my only qualification is to be receiving unemployment I was still denied, yet placed in forbearance. I NEVER ASKED FOR FORBEARANCE, IVE BEEN APPLYING FOR A LOAN MODIFICATION AFTER SUFFERING FROM A DOUBLE FINANCIAL LOSS. First in XXXX of 2020 then COVID-19. I feel that Freedom Mortgage does not have a loss mitigation program in which they claim to have. Its a scam and my mortgage is in the middle of it. Ive never missed a payment.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2021 I spoke with XXXX from Freedom Mortgage. She said I did not have account with Freedom Mortgage. I gave her my loan number. Phone, address, and my name. They said over and over she did not understand. They have me and husband social security numbers mixed up. They have my name misspelled. They have everything mixed up. The mortgage company has a hard time posting payments and it takes them up 30 days post our payment making our account late. This has been ongoing issue. With since our account was sold to them.
