Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, my wife was laid-off from her job in hospitality, as a result of COVID-19. She was told by her employer that the furlough was indefinite and that, if she was reinstated, her pay would be reduced by 40 %. She was unemployed for 3 months before finding another job. As a result, we requested a mortgage forbearance under the CARES ACT. Our mortgage lender, Fifth Third Bank, assessed our hardship and offered a 6-month deferment, which was agreed to over the phone. After the 6 months ended, the lender again offered another 6-month extension for our deferment, which again was agreed upon over the phone and officially recorded. In XX/XX/XXXX, we contacted Fifth Third Bank and agreed verbally to a work-out plan placing the balance at the end of our final pay-out to our loan. As with the first work-out agreement, this was recorded over the phone and purported to be official. In XX/XX/XXXX, we resumed making our scheduled payments to the lender. In XX/XX/XXXX, the Fifth Third Bank claimed that our forbearance was " On Hold, '' they were reneging our agreed upon work-out plan, and they were asking for complete payment of deferred payments from the last 7 months.

Consumer Complaint: I deposited 3 XXXX XXXX money orders for a total of {$1800.00}. The next day Fifth Third took money from my account leaving me with a negative balance. When I called to ask about it, they said not to worry, the balance would restore within 24 hours and the money orders from XXXX XXXX would clear. It has been almost a week and Fifth Third is claiming via telephone call that XXXX XXXX money orders could not be processed. There were no errors on the money order, this is age, gender, and race discrimination. Valid money orders should not be declined by the bank.

Consumer Complaint: The foreclosure auction was cancelled until further notice. I received statements from the mortgage company stated I can submit a hardship application So I submitted a hardship application on XX/XX/2021 through the mortgage company loss mitigation email address for process but I have not received a response. We have called them and they keep saying they will fix and still havent. Consumer Complaint: I have an auto loan at Fifth Third bank XXXX XXXX XXXX, who is claiming that my payments XXXX made via XXXX ) were rejected by my primary bank, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. As such, I have received several NSF fees. According to the rep I spoke with, a different XXXX non XXXX ) account was selected multiple times in a row. This never happened. Never in the years I've made payments have I selected anything other than the intended account. To suggest that I did so several times in a row stretches credulity well past its breaking point. They refuse to do anything about their serious system error, or to correct the erroneous NSFs.

I have initiated a stop payment with the bank and was charged {$99.00} for the service but the lender/merchant is still taking payments from my account. I contacted the bank to let them know but every time I call no one picks up. I've left several voice messages but still they never got back to me. I want my money refunded from the day I initiated the stop payment.

Consumer Complaint: I mailed a check XX/XX/2021 for my mortgage someone stole my check used the routing number and my account number made the check out to someone and changed the amount of the check to XXXX, the person did not even sign my last name on the check clearly it was fraudulent Fifth third bank honored the check and the thief got my hard earned money, I filed a dispute with the bank, made a report with the police department, was told fifth third would reimburse my money it has been over 10 days and when I call the dispute line I get nothing but excuses, when I call t he bank manager she talks fast and gives empty promises I tried to close the account they said " No '' not until they reimburse the money a hold was put on the account, I tried to close my other two accounts and they gave me the run around, we don't have that kind of cash on hand or you need to make an appointment to close your account, I filed an investigation with fifth third on XX/XX/XXXX th and nothing has changed, I just want my XXXX that they let this XXXX take out of my account this person signed my first name and didn't even bother with my last name and they still let him get away with alot of my money, I want my money back and to be allowed to close my other two accounts in peace and they will never see me again.

Consumer Complaint: I received a alert on yesterday XXXX from XXXX XXXX that a hard inquiry had been placed on my report. Mind you I went no where and signed nothing to have my credit pulled on yesterday. This is fraud and I want it removed from all major credit reports XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX should not show anything being posted to my credit report for XX/XX/2021. I want to file charges on whomever was allowed to do use my credit as it took me a long time to rebuild my credit and I will not allowing anyone to get away with this. This is a serious matter and I want it to be taken as a serious matter or I will contact a lawyer and sue. I am really XXXX about this the fact that someone can use your credit without your permission or consent is totally unacceptable. This is not a game this is my credit that I take seriously since it has taken me almost Five years to rebuild and for someone to be playing these types of games I want to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. I don't want any excuses only answer and ASAP.

Consumer Complaint: I'm submitting this complaint because of excessive over draft fees. On XX/XX/21 I was charged {$180.00} in over draft fees on items that were still pending. The over draft fee pushed my account into being over {$400.00} in the negative. When the items finally cleared pending I would have been less than {$200.00} over as many of the items pending were from companies like XXXX. XXXX often places a hold on funds in the account for much higher than the actual charge. Once the pending charge clears it is lower than the hold amount and XXXX will credit the difference.
