Consumer Complaint: i was sent a third party check in the mail it said to deposit it to my account then follow the instructions ( XXXX XXXX ) it said to go to XXXX and XXXX to purchase a {$500.00} XXXX XXXX gift card from both stores and observe the staff to see if they were helpful did they wear a visable name tag if so what was their name how long it took to check out and did they say thank you. so i did all this. then it said to send proof of purchase afterwards make sure they're activated and to keep them for my next assignment and the {$450.00} was my payment. then a few days later they sent another check and i tried cashing it just like the first one but chime wouldn't cash it and later that day they said the check for {$1400.00} didn't clear and i was responsible for it. so now my account is in the negative and i don't think it's my fault they're the ones who deposited the money into my amount it's their job to make sure the check is legit. how would i have known it wasn't? they wont remove it ive sent them all the emails texts screen shots of everything. i've reported to it to a few places. i don't know what else to do. the person that scammed me said their name was XXXX XXXX they said they were a XXXX XXXX company the email is XXXX and they're still sending checks emails and texts.

Capital one has never contacted me in regards to sharing my personal information nor have they ever given me any information on how to opt out i have requested capital one to remove the charge offs and the late payment information from my consumer report multiple times as that is personal information and they have yet to comply with anything i have asked of them but now i know they are directly violating my rights. Then remedy for this is for capital one to remove all charge offs from my consumer report as well as all late payment information repossessions of any kind as it all falls under personal information
