Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I have been a XXXX customer over almost 2 decades and have NEVER paid my credit card late. Last year in XX/XX/XXXXXXXX I made a purchase and thought I had made the payment immediately after on the website. For whatever reason the payment did not go through and i was completely unaware. Despite updating my email address years earlier, alerts of this bill ( I think it was something like {$100.00} ) was sent to an OLD email address. There was also an issue with my online account, apparently there were two accounts and the old and new had not merged. Nevertheless, the amount was not showing up. I was also in the middle of a high conflict divorce involving XXXX XXXX and my ex husband had stolen mail from my mailboz and then forwarded all of my/our mail to another address so I did not get any of my mail for months. I was also dealing with health issues in addition to the high level of stress. When I was finally able to start receiving my mail it again, it was now past the XX/XX/XXXX due date and I was completely horrified since I knew good credit would be vital for me to finaicially survive this divorce. I called, emailed and chatted with XXXX reps until my face was blue but they refused to hear me and reported it to the credit bureaus, ruining my credit. I disputed it with the credit bureaus and XXXX took it off but the other 2 left it on. It is literally the ONLY negative item on my credit. Months later I am now divorced and trying to qualify for a loan and this is literally the ONLY negative item that is preventing approval. I called again today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and explained the situation, urging them to see that I have never, before or after this event been late on any payments but they refused again to remove it. That is was an error on thier websites end followed by unfortunate circumstances tha prevented me from getting mail. It is unfair and false to say that I was just 60 days late, I have always paid on time and had every intention of doing so. I am sure thier electronic records show an attempted payment the same day I made the purchase and have no idea why it didnt go through or why my email did not update despite me tryign to update it many times ( there was a prompt when I signed in and I guess every time it failed to update ). I need this 60 day late item taken off of my account ASAP ... my entire life is literally on hold because of this issue.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX I recieved a copy of my credit report assembled by Equifax that was and still is reporting false and adverse information regarding related to an account I have with the purposted furnisher of this information, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX, I sent a detailed letter to Equifax Information Services LLC regarding inaccuracies in my credit report ( report # XXXX ), specifically with my XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX account. The disputed items included incorrect amounts past due for XX/XX/XXXX ( {$1100.00} ) and XX/XX/XXXX ( {$990.00} ), and incorrect payment history for XXXX, XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. Despite my comprehensive documentation, including a marked-up copy of the consumer report ( Attachment # XXXX ) and billing statements proving no fees or past due amounts for certain items ( Attachment # XXXX ), Equifax has failed to respond or take corrective action. This is in clear violation of several FCRA provisions : Violation of Privacy Rights and Responsibilities of the CRA : As per 15 USC 1681 ( a ) ( 4 ) and 15 USC 1681a ( d ) ( 2 ) ( A ) ( i ), CRAs are required to respect consumer privacy and report only accurate transaction data. Equifaxs reporting of items ( XXXX ) constitutes a violation of these sections. Failure to Maintain Accurate Notification System : Equifax has not maintained reasonable procedures to assure the accuracy of the information, violating 15 USC 1681e ( b ) and 15 USC 1681b ( e ) ( 6 ). The reported past due amount for XX/XX/XXXX is inaccurate, as evidenced by my billing statements and contrasting reporting on my XXXX Credit Report. Non-Compliance in Dispute Resolution : Equifax has not followed the FCRA mandated procedures ( 15 USC 1681i ( a ) ) for dispute resolution, nor have they acknowledged potential liabilities ( 15 USC 1681o ( a ) ) or the responsibilities of information furnishers ( 15 USC 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( B ) ). The non-response and failure to correct these inaccuracies have caused significant emotional and financial harm, affecting my ability to obtain credit and secure favorable interest rates. Actions Taken : I provided detailed evidence challenging the inaccuracies ( Attachments # XXXX and # XXXX ). I clearly cited relevant FCRA sections to support my demands for correction. I demanded the deletion and modification of specific items in my credit report. Expected Response from Equifax : Immediate deletion of items ( XXXX ) and ( XXXX ). Modification of items ( XXXX ) to reflect " Paid on Time '' or " PAANL '' ( Paid as Agreed, Never Late ). Acknowledgement of their procedural failures and compliance with FCRA guidelines. As of now, Equifax has not responded to my letter, nor have they corrected the inaccuracies on my credit report. I called them shortly after the 30 day deadline to check if perhaps there was an error on my part or if they used an incorrect mailing address on file in their correspondence- they didn't even have a record of recieving the letter, despite the accurate mailing address on my letter. While I admit my mailing was not certified with the deliverer, the information nontheless continues to cause undue harm to my financial standing and emotional well-being, and I refuse to rule out the possibility of negligence on their part.
