Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, It has come to my attention. That my personal information and my identity have been compromised. I received a notice in the mail that I was involved in the Equifax data breach. I find it very alarming that your company continues to violate my rights, by reporting my personal information and following accounts incorrectly. I have the right to privacy. 15 U.S.C 1681 section 602 A. States, I have the right to privacy. 15 U.S.C. 1681 ( a ) ( 4 ) There is a need to insure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and respect for the consumers right to privacy. 15 U.S.C 1681b ( a ) ( 2 ) - nothing can be furnished on my consumer report without my written consent 15 U.S. Code 1611 - Criminal liability for willful and knowing violation Whoever willfully and knowingly ( 1 ) gives false or inaccurate information or fails to provide information which he is required to disclose under the provisions of this subchapter or any regulation issued thereunder, 15 U.S.C 1692 ( C ) Without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt. 15 U.S.C. 1681-11681x The Act ( Title VI of the Consumer Credit Protection Act ) protects information collected by consumer reporting agencies such as credit bureaus, medical information companies, and tenant screening services. Information in a consumer report can not be provided to anyone who does not have a purpose specified in the Act. Consumer Complaint: EQUIFAX is obligated by the FCRA to report accurate accounting. Consumer has advised ALL the inquiries reported was fraud. Said company had 4 days according to LAW to remove such items. Consumer Complaint: I bought a house with someone I was not married to, but in a relationship with. We are both on the mortgage. We also remodeled while residing in the house together so there is also a HELOC which we are both on. I am no longer in a relationship with this person, but they signed a notarized legal contract drawn up by a lawyer stating that that the other party is responsible for these debts, and that I am to be held harmless for these debts until they can be refinanced. These accounts should be stricken from my credit report and not affect my debt to income ratio or % of late accounts. If given the opportunity, I will attach an electronic copy of the signed, notarized agreement.
