Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Information is incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Midland Funding is reporting a debt on my credit file that I do not owe. I have sent them multiple letters for them to validate this debt and I have yet to hear back. This account had been removed from my credit file and they recently put it back on?! I was not notified about this and they gave me no chance to dispute it once again which violates my 30 day right to dispute. This account is past the statue of limitations in my state and it's also past the credit reporting limit. I need Midland Funding to remove this account from my credit file. I will also let you know that if you continue to report invalidated false information to any of the three credit bureaus it could constitute fraud under both federal and state laws. If you continue to report invalidated information and false information on my credit report I will have no choice but to contact my attorney general and my attorney. This debt is past the statue of limitations as mentioned and the credit reporting limit which means you must remove this.

Consumer Complaint: HI MIDLAND ; Im confused and stressed and shocked when I reviewed my credit report this week and I found multiple inaccuracies on my credit report from the 3 major credit bureaus from a collection company that I never have dealt with before. I've attempted several times to ratify the issue with the original creditors and credit bureaus and they still reporting inaccurate, unverifiable information. I have disputed this item with the credit reporting agency and they reported you confirmed the account as valid. I honestly do not believe to ever have any relationship with this collection agency or original creditor. Also there are several inaccuracies with this account the way it's reporting and that's a total violation of FCRA and FDCPA laws and regulations. In a good faith effort to resolve the matter amicably, I must demand proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of your authority in this matter. Absent such proof, you must correct any erroneous reports of this past debt as mine. I am writing to request that you please provide the following information : 1. Please evidence your authorization under 15 USC 1692 ( e ) and 15 USC 1692 ( f ) in this alleged matter. 2. What is your authorization of law for your collection of information? 3. What is your authorization of law for your collection of this alleged debt? 4. Please evidence your authorization to do business or operate in this state. 5. Please evidence proof of the alleged debt, including the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature. 6. Please provide a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity. You have 30 days upon receipt of this letter to provide strict proof of contract. In the event you can not provide strict proof of contract, you must cease and desist any and all collection efforts and immediately remove any derogatory information reported to the consumer reporting agencies. In addition, you will need to provide me your agreement, in writing, that you are closing your file, ceasing collecting activity, and deleting all information related to this reference number from any and all credit reports youve furnished the information to. In the event you transfer this account to an attorney without providing proof of contract, and proving your claim, he/she will be immediate reported to the America Bar Association and Professional Liability Fund for code of ethics violations.

Consumer Complaint: I had a card with XXXX XXXX, I feel behind on payments. When I attempted to fix the issue XXXX XXXX had already closed and forwarded the account to collections. I contacted Midland credit management and tried to pay XXXX dollars for a settlement. The man I spoke to was really rude so I told him we're in the midst of a pandemic and I can't afford anything else. He told me no they wouldn't settle and took me to court and still charging me interest, robo calls and mailing. I asked XXXX XXXX 's office for help and was referred to contact this office. XXXX XXXX 's have all my copies including me asking not to be contacted again. I hope your office can help on this matter.

Consumer Complaint: In the process of getting a refinance I was told that the company Midland Credit Management had a lien on my property for an account they purchased in 2007. I have seen the information and it does not apply to me. I am being asked to provide information such as a police report and to contact the issuer of the credit in question. Both of these items are impossible as I am not able to file a police report retroactively and the company that Midland says they purchased the debt from, has no record of my account number or that I even had credit with them.
