Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: Hello! My name is XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2023 I pulled my credit report so I can see what was on it. Im looking into fixing my credit and noticed an unknown collection on my credit report I dont recall having this account. I then sent XXXX XXXX XXXX and MIDLAND CREDIT MANAGEMENT a debt validation letters via certified mail on XX/XX/2023 with a return receipt. I received nothing what I asked for I only a received an itemized billing statement with an addressed thats not associated to me. I ask for proof I agree to this debt with my signature, proof of the amount they claiming I owe is correct and legal, which require all statements and payments history from original creditor. Proof the amount is within the statute of limitation and has not expired. Proof you are the owner of this account, which will require the contract and terms between them and the original creditor. Proof that they are legally licensed, bonded and insured if applicable to collect this debt in my state. For verification purposes, I will need their business license number. They failed to send my requested documents only thing they sent was a itemized billing statement. I then contacted via phone and ask why wasnt the documents I requested for validation wasnt sent. They said they only have what they mail me is a billing statement they brought from the original creditor and they dont have anything with proof with my signature on it. I feel like they have violated my consumer rights and failed to follow FCRA guidelines and also ignored my request to not contact me and cease and desist all future attempts contacting me.

Issue: Threatened to contact someone or share information improperly
Subissue: Talked to a third-party about your debt
Consumer Complaint: On Wednesday XX/XX/XXXX midland called someone who is not in my immediate family. Said they had them listed as a contact number for me. No where have I ever put this person on any form or correspondence of any kind. They then proceeded to ask if he was my husband, which he is not. And then talked to them about being debt collectors. Because this person was not an immediate family member of mine, I now have a very negative relationship with them because of this. In no way should that person have been contacted, especially when I have received ZERO phone calls myself on a number Ive had for over 17 years. And especially that person should not have said they were calling from a debt collector. That is personal information that is now public. The person that was contacted looking for me, has been frustrated enough that our relationship that was once very good, is now bordering on non existent. And this is a person that is very close to my family and I have no choice but to keep them in my life for the sake of my family. Shame on them!!

Consumer Complaint: XXXX. XXXX XXXX removed a fraud account that did not belong to me last year when it was discovered during a routine security background check. I work in the XXXX XXXX and it was discovered that while I was working in XXXX and XXXX, somebody had opened a XXXX XXXX account with my details without my knowledge or consent. They also removed the account from my credit listed by Midland Credit, who they had referred the fraud account to. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX and Midland began collections against me again illegally, and began reporting the fraud account against me illegally again. This is slander and XXXX. I gave them proof I was out of the country and I never opened the account.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: Dear sir/ma 'm I do not like to submit complaints but Midland Credit Management is not fixing or removing errors on my report. First I disputed the account status. Collections are not supposed to report as open, so they closed it and now they reopened it with additional errors. Please look at my report, Date last Active is reporting differently across all 3 reports. I don't understand why there is even a Date for this. I've never been active on this account. I have send so many disputes letters and all they say is that they verified the debt but have not sent any sort of documents with my signature that I owe them this alleged debt. Also I checked their collection license and it doesn't look like they are legally collecting in california. Can you please investigate this for me. I'm already working with an attorney who is well aware of the consumer laws and says I might have a case. I would like to avoid a lawsuit. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX I received my first email from MCM stating that they would be sending my information to their legal team if I did not pay them. I have not heard from them in any other capacity until that point. I do not know what the debt is for nor did they specify. XXXX XXXX was the email signature. There was no timeframe given in which I was to respond. I have not received any correspondence other than the email threatening legal action with no additional information.

Consumer Complaint: Midland has reported a debt that is not mine. I have not done buisness, recieved goods or services from this company. I have requested proper documentation verifying and validating the debt they claim i owe. The address is incorrect & every month they report it as owing XXXX then increase it to {$500.00}, constantly bringing my score down. They do thos same tactic every month. Bring it ip a dollar, then down a dollar, then back up, & so on. This has effected my scores and brongs my score down more than it goes up each time. I have disputed this debt mutliple times asking for signed contracts and all documents showing each debt, they continue to send just a bill with the amount and a10 % off settle amount which i refuse to pay for anything that is not kine.
