Consumer Complaint: I have a account with Discover Card, over the months i notice their unprofessionally business. Now on the of XXXX i had an emergency and i happen to pay the bill on XX/XX/. The bill was due onXX/XX/XXXX. however i called and see that my payment was never late they happened to fix it and it was only one day and i was the one that caught it but because it was an emergency my mind was blanked on the that day it was due. They discover promised to send me a email after the conversation after waving the late fee but never did.. i happen to go in my account today XX/XX/ and saw late fee {$40.00} plus the next payment due on XX/XX/ of {$81.00} which should be {$59.00}. In other words the late fee was waved so the amount added should be taken off. I called and was told the fee stays and next month that's XXXX the money come back down, which makes no sense because i am still paying the waved late fee. i need you help to look into this before the bill is due on XX/XX/. i will not pay the {$81.00} it should be only {$59.00} because the fee was taken off. this is a fraud.

Consumer Complaint: Talked with multiple people, no one could explain a " random '' customer verification. I am unable to check my balance, but one employee said I can still use my card. Why would I use my card if I can not even check or pay my balance? They made me sign a IRS Consent Form 4506-T.

Consumer Complaint: Discover, without my authorization, signed me up for Payment Protection and have charged me over {$3200.00} since XXXX. I have asked to be refunded the full amount and they said they would only return the past six months. I struggle every month to pay my bills and they have taken advantage of me. I also know that there was a class action lawsuit which they admitted no wrongdoing. What concerns me is that Discover continued with the unauthorized program after they were caught.

Consumer Complaint: I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report and found 120 days late payment on the dates XX/XX/2020 to XX/XX/2020. I am not sure how this happened, I believe that I had made my payments to you when I received my statements. My only thought is that my monthly statement did not get to me.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I made a purchase for a 'open box ' XXXX XXXX XXXX Watch for {$140.00} through XXXX. According the XXXX 's policy and description definitions an 'open box ' item is described as : " An item in excellent, new condition with no wear. The item may be missing the original packaging or protective wrapping, or may be in the original packaging but not sealed. The item includes original accessories. The item may be a factory second. See the seller 's listing for full details and description. '' However, when I received the watch, it was clearly used and covered in scratches all over the body, and did not even come with original accessories. I immediately requested a refund through XXXX, but accidentally closed the dispute. So I reached out to XXXX customer support and the seller. XXXX simply told me that because I had closed the return request there was nothing that they could do. The seller openly admitted that the product was not as described and mistakenly listed it as 'open box ' when it should have been listed as 'used ' and offered to fully refund me if I return the item. I asked for further instructions on how I would return the item, but the seller had stopped responding to my messages. Next, I contacted XXXX, but because of COVID-19 their offices were closed and could not escalate my issue and recommended that I dispute with my credit card. I then opened a dispute with Discover credit card and after 2 months they tell me that because the merchant is willing to accept a return they can not continue with a dispute and that the transaction is valid. I argue that I am willing to return, but the seller is not providing me with any means to return. I asked that the dispute be reopened, so that they can request proof from the seller if he has tried to initiate a return with me, but they refused. DiscoveXXXX is allowing scammers to prey on unsuspecting victims with falsely advertised products through their loose policies and loopholes.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX, I had an issue paying such a small balance on my Discover credit card. I have an excellent long standing history with all my credit cards. In XXXX I was not able to make my payment, which caused my to go late for more than 30 days, thus my account was reported to the credit bureau for a negative impact on my credit report. I XXXX from XXXX when it was beginning here in the USA at that time. I was at the XXXX and I recovered after a months time. I was not able to make the payment. I called Discover and they were no help at that time, there was no deferment back then or any sort of help or understanding to my situation. Discover refused to help and instead reported me to the credit bureau negatively impacting my credit report when I had perfect standing! I want a resolution in good faith as this was an emergency and one time occurrence to resolve this in removing this negative report from my credit report as it has impacted my credit score and information to all potential lenders/banks. Now with the hardship of how COVID is now, I would really appreciate the help and resolution with Discover to put my account back in good standing. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, Discover Student Loans put my student loan in repayment, despite the letters I sent ( on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX ), through its secure message application, reporting that my account should not go into repayment because I am a XXXX student, and will remain under this status until my graduation, expected either in XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I am receiving a letter reporting that my student account has been delinquent for 9 nine days, and informing me that it will be reported to the consumer reporting agencies. The letter also asks me to pay the monthly payment of {$640.00}, and my student account online comes up with late payment. amount of 2 x {$640.00} = {$1200.00}. No matter what I explain to Discover Student Loan, I keep having representatives pretending that they base their decision on the report from my school, which is just inaccurate because I am enrolled XXXX I am therefore requesting action from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to get the current action from Discover Student Loan suspended, have the status of my student loan account reversed to " in school '' as it should be, and get an explanation from Discover Student Loan.
