Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 the balance of the debt was paid in full. As of XX/XX/2020 I called the institution with an attempt to update my credit report and have the collections removed from my credit profile, but the very polite customer service agent made me aware that this type of issue is beyond her scope of business. As a result, I am now asking that the account be removed from my credit profile

Consumer Complaint: Discover Card that was opened in 2017 was stolen from me and there were fraudlent charges on the act. I did file a police report and sent it to Discover. They told me that the charges would be investigated and in fact they were not. They never sent me any proof that the charges were being looked into. They did however continue to harrass a XXXXyear old woman regarding the balance on the act. At some point they sent the file to an attorney and filed a law suit without ever showing any proof that the charges I was disputing were mine. Spoke to an attorney who has dealt with Discover before and he told me that typically I would get a package in the mail, Dispute the charges, sign the form and send it back. I was also told this by the Rep at Discover. This never happened. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was served documents to show up in court. I am a XXXX year old elderly woman on Social Security. How is it that these Credit Card companies can get away with no reveiw of accounts and simply state that you are accountable for charges and never show or give you proof that you made them. This is ridiculous. I have uploaded my Police report as well.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Consumer Complaint: I took a cash advance on Discover in XXXX. I paid an upfront 3 % for this 0 % offer. I kept using the card and paid for the purchases. I was getting charged {$80.00} in interest for a 0 % amount. If I paid the card off for the purchases and the amount left is 0 % why would I get charged interest. I had two customer service people tell me that I had to make a minimum payment on the amount in order to avoid interest. I tried that, still got charged interest. I am getting charged interest on an advertised 0 % amount. If I pay off the purchase amount and the only thing left is the 0 % amount I should not get charged interest. I talked with a supervisor today who gave me a fax number and told me it was a phone number to call. I have been lied to by the representatives. This is very misleading. I should not be charged interest if I pay off the purchases and there is 0 % amount left on the card period. Please see my statement for proof. I took out {$2400.00} plus 3 % so as you can see on the statement. I made {$2900.00} in purchases and paid {$4900.00} on the bill leaving {$2500.00} that was supposed to be interest fee. As you can see I got charged {$81.00} in interest on a supposedly interest free account. I was told I had to pay off the entire amount not be charged interest. If that is true then it is not interest fee as advertised.

Consumer Complaint: Previously held a secured card lost wallet and card account enrolled in auto pay unable to stop payments as they restricted online access and prevented me from correcting this resulted in returned payment and they closed my account and whats worse is they blacklisted me for life it appears I have spoken with multiple reps and supervisors that stated I was blacklisted and would likely never be eligible for a discover card in my life which was crazy because they have seen things people did intentionally or people not pay at all and not even have this happen. I was advised they submitted a request to reopen the account immediately and remove any such hold on my account as it should not be present neither happened and they blacklisted me for something that had nothing to do with me

Consumer Complaint: On my credit reports there is a closed account with huge amount of missed payments. DISCOVER BANK Its not mine account. Also there was no written form of communication, contract or signature for this account debt at all. A bill without signature does not validate the debt and anybody can send a bill and say it is mine. According to the FCRA DISCOVER BANK has violated my rights as a consumer and I requesting legal action to remove this account immediately.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX I fell and XXXX XXXX. I was a XXXX contract employee and could not get XXXX. I had a hard time working and even needed XXXX. I unfortunately fell on hard fiscal times and missed several payments on multiple credit cards. I spoke with Discover in XX/XX/XXXX. I had missed several payments and was over my {$5000.00} limit. I was given 2 options as to what I could do about my missed payments. Option 1 was close my account and enter in to a low interest payment program for the term of the repayment. The 2nd option was I go in to a repayment program and after 12 months, I was told I would get my card back. I even asked if I make all my payments for 12 months would I get my card back and was told I would. In XX/XX/XXXX after making every single payment on time I wasn't given my card back. I called Discover and was told that they would have to do a review to get my card back. I wasnt told this in XXXX of XXXX. I was also taken out of the repayment program and my interest fees were doubled as was my minimum monthly payment. ( From {$75.00} to {$150.00} ). Even with this hardship of double the amount of my payments I still made my payments every month. This added {$75.00} additional payment lead to many hardships for me. There were months were I couldnt even buy food. I still held up my end of the deal and made every payment. In XXXX of XXXX I began to try to repay all of my debt. By XXXX of XXXX I paid down most of my debt, including Discover. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email that my discover card was being closed. Even though I did all they had asked of me. If I wasn't lied to in XXXX I would have taken the option to close my card then and taken the other program with lower interest for the entire program. Discover 's dishonest tactics ended up causing significant hardships as well as over {$1000.00} in additional fees.
