Consumer Complaint: DISCOVER CARD ISSUED ME A SECURE CARD, I DISPUTED A CHARGED OF XXXX from a unauthorized merchant, I also had a bunch of other unauthorized charges, but I also have some authorize charges, so instead of issuing me a new card, and stopping all unauthorized charges, Discover has allowed the merchants to continue to charge me so every month my balance due is overstated by the unauthorized charges, then if I make a payment to Discover on. Friday afternoon, the money disappears instantly from my checking acct, but it never shows up on Discover up until on next week on Wednesday, which is atrocious, yet I am trying to build my credit and have to accept this predatory lending, in addition, I used to have a Discover Card with my Domestic XXXX XXXX and apparently he also had a second card with his father since they co-mingle ss # and someway somehow is affecting me in getting credit, yet I am been penalized for inaccurate info everywhere

Consumer Complaint: I had been with discover credit card company since XX/XX/2020. I immediately set up automatic payments to be processed on the XXXX of every month from my banks ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) savings account. Every time on the XXXX, discover sends me a text and an email saying my payment was RECEIVED but couple days later, I get hit with a returned payment fee of approximately XXXX dollars three or four times before the payment actually goes through despite having sufficient balance in my savings account. I tried to talk to my bank to resolve this issue which was also unsuccessful. This has been happening since XXXX of last year and I have been charged 12 times for returned payment fee by Discover. Last month, for instance, discover sent me a text as well as an email saying my payment of {$57.00} was RECEIVED. I called a discover agent and asked if the payment actually went thru and if it was received by discover as they say it was. The agent affirmed that the payment went through and reassured me that I have nothing to worry about. Few days later, discover charges me returned payment fees despite having sufficient funds in my bank account. This has been an extremely frustrating experience.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I applied for and was approved for a Discover it card in the amount of XXXX . This was good news as I have worked hard the past two years to build the credit standing that I am in today. I recieved the card and activated it immediately. Two days later ( XX/XX/21 ) I recieved an email that my account was being frozen to review my financial information and I would need to sign an authorization through XXXX for a 4056-T to release my tax returns. I complied with this request and was told that the IRS was backlogged when I called to check on the review. This was concerning to me as the IRS says it only takes 3 business days to turn over the information. Today, over a month after the request, I recieved an email stating that my account was being closed effectively immediately based on my account information as a whole that they were unable to verify information on my account. I myself am able to log in to my IRS account and pull my transcripts, the same as Discover requested and I see they are available, thus I do not see how they can claim that information was not verifiable. Furthermore this is a clear bait and switch, Discover has every right to do their due diligence when deciding whether to approve a customer for an account or not. However, to approve an account, send a card, allow me to activate the card, freeze my account for 30 days, and then close my account, is negligent and impacts me negatively as a consumer when they couldve just denied my account in its entirety. I will be contacting the IRS to confirm if and when this review was even completed.

Consumer Complaint: I made an online purchase on XX/XX/2019 in the amount of {$350.00} and used my Discover Card issued by XXXX XXXX ending in XXXX. I waited almost two years and until now still haven't received my order. I had a dispute case opened last XXXX and I closed the case few weeks later because I thought the pre-order item won't be released until XXXX of this year. So, I decided to wait until XXXX to see what will happen. About three weeks ago I found out that the online merchants ( XXXX ) was shut down due to lack of staffing. so I called discover card and tried to reopen the dispute case. I mail all the supporting documents but they tell me that wasn't enough. They can't help me. They ask me to give proof of writing from the seller that they won't ship my item or they won't issue me credit. They say my order could be delayed. I told them seller didn't respond to any of my emails since XXXX of this year. They ask me to think out side of the box. I could not believe the way Discover Card handling the issue. Shame on them. People should stay away from Discover. Card.
