Consumer Complaint: Due to lack of response from these companies, I am filing this complaint to XXXX XXXX XXXX, and DISCOVERBANK. They have ignored my request to provide me with the documents that their company has on file that was used to verify the accounts I disputed. Being that they have gone past the 30 day mark and can not verify these accounts under Section 611 ( 5 ) ( A ) of the FCRA - they are required to. Promptly delete all information which can not be verified. Please resolve this manner as soon as possible thank you

Consumer Complaint: I called discover about my direct deposit that was scheduled and post dated for XX/XX/XXXX released XX/XX/XXXX and the deposit was set for XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of XXXX and XXXX. I called Wednesday and they said my deposits in those amounts are pending to be posted the next day Thursday I called all of sudden my account was frozen with out my knowledge and never got a call from Discover said they rejected payments and it was sent back to nys dept of labor and they said they did not receive anything no rejection nothing. The bank cxl my direct deposit and now they dont know where my deposit its been over a week with no answers on my accounts that were set up via auto pay got hit with fees all of this drama.

Consumer Complaint: I am furious!! Discover closed my account ( Account number ending in XXXX ) out of the blue for no real reason. They gave me some XXXX excuse and closed my credit card that I had with them for 9 years. This has injured my credit score because I lost credit age that I worked so hard to build up. THIS COMPANY IS IN VIOLATION OF 15 USC 1637a ( 1 ) because they can't close my credit as a protected consumer. As a consumer, my credit can not be " closed '' because I have the right to credit. This is an open ended credit card account meaning, it did not have a close date. Discover in fact closed this credit card account which was deceptive to me as the consumer. they mislead me into thinking this credit card was open ended, under FDCPA 8012, Discover furnished deceptive forms. I believe they closed my credit account in error, as the original creditor under 15 USC 1692g, I did not consent to this credit card account being closed. I want my cards back with all my years for credit reinstated. They even gave me a brand new card, then months later closed both the new and the old cards. I have always paid my cards on time. I am losing my mind over this, I need Justification.

Consumer Complaint: I activated an authorized Discover credit card on XX/XX/2021. Following purchases, on XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email from Discover Financial Services requiring my consent to receive tax information from the Internal Revenue Service ( IRS ) to verify information on my account. I obliged the request, filled out the authorization form and submitted it within the allotted 5 days. Unbeknownst to me, the IRS has an old address ( assumed to be XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX Michigan XXXX ) on file that does not coincide with my current address XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX MI XXXX. Therefore, they would not grant Discover access to my records. As a result of this Discover apparently sent a request to me for my old addresses, which had already been provided to them in the past. The email requesting this information went to my spam folder and I never saw it. As a result of not receiving a response from me Discover Financial Services made an internal decision to close my card, that was communicated to me on XX/XX/2021, with a balance still on it. While I can not use the card, I can pay on the balance. This abrupt closing of my account has significantly negatively impacted my credit score by making it seem as though I am utilizing 155 % of my credit due to the balance of the card still being reported but it's status being closed. It's basically causing it to look as though I am using far more of my open credit than I actual have available, which significantly decreases my store.

Consumer Complaint: I strongly, wholly and completely, reject Discover 's recent erroneous, defamatory, damaging and retaliatory action against me and my card account. This is nothing short of gorilla marketing, an outrageous attempt to scare a consumer, to force a consumer to use their product, or else, while they damage my credit reporting with unwarranted changes and restrictions to my account. On or around XX/XX/XXXX, Discover solicited me for an account, and set me up with a {$750.00} credit line. While I felt this was insufficient, and after raising this issue with their Customer Service, I figured, in time, I would qualify for an increase with my good credit and payment history. In XXXX of XXXX, I received a notice as a result of my good account standing and payment history ( which was perfect ), the announced they raised my credit line to {$1800.00}. Before, during and since, my credit report has been flawless. I just got notified, that due to my " significant delinquent '' credit history, and because of lack of activity, they have lowered my credit line to {$500.00} ; further, if I don't use the account in 30 days, it would be closed. I am shocked. I have been in the payments industry well before Discover was even conceived. Obviously, they still have a long way to go to join the legitimate ranks of Visa and Mastercard operating models. This is no way to encourage use of a card product, in fact, if they had given me an appropriately credit line to begin with, and not thrown me a bone, which wasn't worth the cost of an inquiry, I might have used the account more frequently. Not all merchants take Discover, so Visa is still the # 1 card product in the US. Yet, I gave them a chance, a few times, to meet my needs for a decent credit facility line. I just got notified by XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, both {$0.00} balances, and they have informed me that they are changing processors, but thanked me for my business and to expect a new card in the mail. This is professionalism. This is customer courtesy, respect. I just got a home loan in the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on a XXXX dollar property that was paid in full with XXXX delinquencies. All my card accounts have been paid " exceptionally ''. Discover, this is a shame and a sham.

Consumer Complaint: I was the victim of a scammer in XX/XX/2020. The scammer asked for a cash advance from my Discover card in the amount of {$10000.00}. Discover never asked me if this was legitimate and went right ahead disbursing it. I didn't find out about it right away. My lawyer wrote to them asking for an explanation. They did not reply. They earlier claimed they had investigated this and held me responsible. I have never, ever, asked for a cash advance from any credit card, and certainly should have been asked to approve the transaction. I am a senior citizen and this is a lot of money they expect me to pay. This transaction occurred on XX/XX/2020. I will be glad to answer any questions you have.
