Consumer Complaint: Despite previous attempts to rectify the situation, the inaccurate information continues to reflect, indicating a lack of investigation and resolution. It is frustrating that these inaccurate reporting were severely damaging my financial standing and creditworthiness. I wonder what investigation you are doing that these inaccurate late payments keep on tarnishing my credit report. I want these accounts to be updated accurately : DISCOVER BANK XXXX Those payments were made on time. I am requesting that the late payment markings be updated to reflect my accurate payment history. It is disheartening to see that despite my previous attempts to escalate and rectify this issue, there has been no visible effort to address the ongoing inaccuracies. I am sure you can appreciate the impact such inaccuracies can have on my creditworthiness and financial standing.

Consumer Complaint: Someone fraudulently used my personal information on XX/XX/2015, to open a fraudulent account with Discover Card. They also attempted to file a bankruptcy petition fraudulently to cover up their fraudulent actions. When I discovered the identity fraud I wrote Discover Card and called them to report the fraud. Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Discover Bank and their collection agency, XXXX and XXXX XXXX, for non-compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) in their handling of an alleged debt. Description of the Incident : The sole correspondence I received regarding the alleged debt was from XXXX and XXXX XXXX, representing Discover Bank. This initial contact occurred on XX/XX/2023. Subsequently, I sent a written request for debt validation to XXXX and XXXX XXXX within the required XXXX period, as outlined by the FDCPA. This request was dispatched on XX/XX/2023 via certified mail. A copy of this letter is included in the attachments for your reference. Violation of FDCPA : Under the FDCPA, collection activities must be suspended upon receiving a written request for debt validation until the debt is confirmed ( 15 U.S.C. 1692g ( b ) ). However, neither Discover Bank nor XXXX and XXXX XXXX has acknowledged my request or provided the necessary validation, yet they continue with their collection efforts. This behavior is a clear violation of the FDCPA. Violation of FCRA : The FCRA mandates accurate credit reporting. The continuation of reporting this unverified debt by Discover Bank could potentially be erroneous, adversely affecting my credit score and report. This situation may constitute a violation of the FCRA 's requirements for accurate and fair credit reporting. Request for CFPB Intervention : I respectfully urge the CFPB to investigate these potential violations. The ongoing collection activities and credit reporting, despite my unacknowledged request for debt validation, are concerning and may negatively impact my financial health. Attachments : Enclosed are copies of the correspondence from XXXX and XXXX XXXX, my written request for debt validation ( refer to the attached letter sent to XXXX and XXXX XXXX ), and any other pertinent documents. Conclusion : I seek the CFPB 's assistance in resolving this matter and ensuring my rights under the FDCPA and FCRA are protected. I am available to provide further information as needed for your investigation. Thank you for addressing this important issue. I look forward to your prompt response and a favorable resolution.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I placed an order with XXXX for two products : an XXXX XXXX XXXX motherboard and XXXX XXXX XXXX, to be delivered on the same day via XXXX XXXX XXXX. After a three-day delay and no updates, I sought a refund from XXXX, but they declined and provided no delivery details. XXXX XXXX also denied sharing information with XXXX customers, redirecting me to XXXX. Consequently, I filed a dispute with Discover Credit Card, which was initially resolved in XXXX 's favor due to insufficient documentation. Surprisingly, XXXX later agreed to issue a refund within a week, but after two weeks of silence, I resubmitted the dispute to Discover Bank with a saved chat transcript promising a refund from XXXX. Despite this, the dispute resolution again favored XXXX. XXXX 's documentation only asserted their refusal to accept a chargeback without significant evidence. Additionally, there have been local issues with XXXX XXXX, often delivering to the wrong buildings due to complex road layouts. XXXX 's proof only included a photo of the box, lacking precise delivery location details.

Consumer Complaint: Regarding Case XXXX XXXXXXXX This case particularly bothered me because I called for a status update 1 full week after submission and was told the case was sitting in an open queue and not even assigned. The case involves my Discover portal being hacked and demographic information changed without my knowledge or authorization. This can be extremely damaging as the suspect can certainly obtain enough information to open credit cards and other accounts in a fraudulent manner using my identity. I am attaching the following documentation to this complaint : 1 ) Police Report ( Complaint XXXX XXXXXXXX ) XXXX ) FTC Identity Theft Affidavit ( FTC Report XXXX XXXX ) As a result of the identity breach, I have decided to close my Discover account as the urgency and response to this matter has not been appropriate in my view. I have contacted the Connecticut Attorney General 's office ( XXXX ) and plan on filing an official complaint if this matter is not resolved in a timely manner.
