Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, Discover Bank closed my Checking and Saving accounts due to their claim of suspicious activity ' on the accounts but failed to provide me with any details of the activity in question. Discover did not send me an alert, nor any notification prior to them closing my accounts, which caused a considerable inconvenience in the delay in paying a credit card bill. Ive contacted Discover, and they can only disclose that my statements were closed due to suspicious activity on the charges and that management decided to close the accounts. At the time of the closure, I had a total of {$680.00} ( Checking : $ XXXXSavings : {$1.00} ). A representative told me that my funds would be sent to me in the form of a check ninety days after my accounts received a deposit, after XX/XX/2022. This inconvenience caused payment to be returned and my credit card payment to be reflected as a late payment, affecting my good standing credit reporting with the three credit bureaus. I attempted to resolve this issue via the XXXX XXXX XXXX but Discover failed to respond to the complaint ( case ID # XXXX ).

Consumer Complaint: It has come to my attention that Discover has denied me credit. I, the NATURAL PERSON, Creditor, and Applicant, am aware of the letter that was sent to me via email which is an adverse action pursuant 15 USC 1691 ( d ) ( 6 ). As the ORIGINAL creditor, I initiated a consumer credit transaction, using my credit card pursuant to 15 USC 1602 ( L ) making Discover an assignee pursuant to 15 USC 1691a ( e ). I DID NOT fill out a loan application because banks can not loan money pursuant to 12 USC 1431. Furthermore, according to the FDCPA pursuant to 15 USC 1692j, therefore identified is noted to be deceptive. I DID NOT receive any benefit from that transaction as it negatively impaired my consumer report providing the transaction did in fact go through. It shall be unlawful for any creditor to discriminate against any applicant, with respect to ANY aspect of a credit transaction as Congress states No credit card shall be issued except in response to a request or application thereof pursuant 15 USC 1642.

Consumer Complaint: As of XX/XX/XXXX I have written XXXX several times to get this issue resolved. They are counting to report duplicate fraudulent accounts. I have been disputing Discover Bank charge for a {$3600.00} account being reported at {$8000.00}. I don't have account number. I have repeatedly disputed this charge for 3 years and it is also contacted each creditor bureau with proof and also contacted Discover several times. Now the account is showing twice on my credit report. I have asked how this information is being verified as I have provided proof that it was not me. This is detrimental to my credit and I have exhausted ways to have it resolved. XXXX is also showing a duplicate collection account for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, for {$190.00} which is also a fraudulent account and I have disputed this charge and it is showing twice. I have contacted XXXX as well as XXXX to verify that this was not me. The car they are referring to being insured is not registered or owned by me and I have never had insurance with this company. Have been fully insured for the last 5 years by XXXX. I would also like a resolution with XXXX XXXX. It is showing a charge off account for {$9500.00} I have disputed this charge and also provided documentation of fraud. I have contacted the creditor as well as they have sent it to collection which has resulted in anther negative account for XXXX XXXX for {$9500.00}.
