Consumer Complaint: I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR OVER 2 YEARS TO REMOVE A FRAUDULENT ACCOUNT REMOVED FROM MY CREDIT PROFILE. THIS FRAUDULENT ACCOUNT WAS OPENED IN A DIFFERENT STATE AND IT WAS CHARGED IN A STATE WHERE I DON'T LIVE. I HAVE BEEN TALKING TO DISCOVER BANK AND XXXX TO HAVE THIS FRAUDULENT ACCOUNT REMOVED. THE CHARGES AND THE ACCOUT ARE FRAUDULENT. UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME DISCOVER WILL NOT PROVIDE THE ADDRESS THAT WAS USED TO OPEN THIS FRAUDULENT ACCOUNT. I FEEL LIKE THERE ARE PROTECTING THE THEIF BT NOT HELPING THE VICTIM.

Consumer Complaint: Call XXXX : 1. Called Discover bank because their online system notified me that an out of country log-in attempt may have occurred. XXXX. Employee suggested I lock the account without explaining how difficult it would be to regain access to my own funds and account because they couldnt XXXX with XXXX using my cell phone which I could see was listed as a mobile device in my XXXX ( online banking ). Every other bank including XXXX XXXX bank is accepting my mobile for XXXX. Call XXXX : XXXX : XXXX. Called back to figure out how to access my account. Was provided more detail about how I needed to submit both my SS card and ID again since 2 factor authentication was unavailable ( they dont make the review easy as you must wait 48 hours for your documents to be reviewed regardless of your situation per information I was provided ). Call XXXX : XXXX : XXXX. Was informed that I need to access a specific URL webpage to upload my documents. XXXX. Uploaded documents and waited 48 hours to call again. Call XXXX : XXXX : XXXX. I was just informed that I now need to upload the back of my ID. XXXX. Uploaded the back of my ID and was told that I must wait 48 hours again and not given any other option by the bank. Call XXXX : XXXX : several business days have gone by with the end of month approaching ( when bills are usually due ) and now the bank tells me that my ID and SS card and back of ID have a slight blur to them. When asked for faster review options the bank only has fax technology as an option and isnt providing consumers the ability to use secure e-mail or obtain manager access without a process that will take additional days. As of today, XXXX all of my funds will remain locked for at least 48 more hours ( 2 additional business days ). My funds will have remained locked by Discover bank for over XXXX total business days with no option to obtain manager help for receiving a secure e-mail from a manager to get documents to them to review in an expedited manner. This is dangerous for consumers to get caught in Discovers account lock - and the process leading up to the locked state didnt clearly explain the implication if I opted to lock the account from the first interaction with the first employee. On the call on XXXX the employee made the claim that Discover bank just has to be more secure than other banks and claimed they are being more secure than banks that use my number for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX included ) because Discover has only digital banking. However, XXXX XXXX XXXX is only digital in my area in the twin cities, so their argument wouldnt be valid even if they could prove that there is a more secure process in place on the back end where they are scrubbing numbers through whether they are with a major carrier such as XXXX, XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Whether Discover has a more secure process is up for debate, but they certainly arent implementing methods to enable consumers to access their own money expediently to prove their identity after they lock it up.

Consumer Complaint: To update the damages to my credit, no matter not asking for credit, the free credit report from XXXX XXXX provided by Discover Bank is already showing XXXX point less, a missed payment and a false recent delinquency, which is no other than the loan from XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. also known as XXXX I want to thank Discover Bank Chat Representative XXXX, and her supervisor named XXXX as the included chat transcript shows, both were great and tried to do all they could, but because of the unfair consequences to my credit report, is better to send this through the C.F.P.B. than directly by fax to Discover, now that there is a Lawsuit filed on my part. This is not to complain against Discover, but to show to XXXX XXXX, that if ask Discover for a simple credit card limit increase, this fraud authorized by XXXX manager XXXX XXXX XXXX will make any Discover Bank automatic revision process for this purpose null, because it shows a delinquency and a missed payment, no matter, is false. No matter I request a credit line increase, or if it is Discover with an automatic periodic revision, it will be denied because this false delinquency is counted, as fatal cutoff criteria by any Bank or Credit Union, not allowing me to pay attention to current needs requiring credit, like now with this emergency repair for my XXXX XXXX XXXX owned since new, even XXXX require repairs no matter this is the original factory installed XXXX that is going to be replaced after close to 18 years of use since new and more than XXXX miles. The most reliable car, maybe it is, is the one I have in the middle of all this, and is used for my job as XXXX XXXX at XXXXXXXX XXXX, an XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I am the victim of a data purge and somebody is trying to use my social and credit to take out credit cards and buy merchandise from 3rd party vendors like XXXX ( a XXXX $ XXXX XXXX was bought and sent to my address but I returned it ). I have already spoken to the people at XXXX XXXX XXXX and told them that the credit card applications being sent are fraudulent. I have just received a letter in the mail from a denied discover card application. Some one is actively trying to use my identity and I have filed a police report with my local authorities and froze my credit on the 3 major credit companies and also place an initial fraud alert. I am at a loss of what to do next.

This was shocking to me because I value my relationship with Discover and have always paid this bill on time. The only thing I can think of as to why this payment may have been late is because I had a bad case of XXXX in XXXX of XXXX and I may have missed the payment due to being sick, or I may not have received the monthly statement. This 30 day late is impacting my credit score and I am hoping you can help by removing this late payment from my credit report. Doing so will be greatly appreciated and will allow me to secure the financing i need for my business.

Consumer Complaint: I first called Discover on XXXX XX/XX/2022. After talking to several individuals I was told a audit request was filed. I received a phone call on XX/XX/2022 and the Individual told me the account wqas credited with additional interest. I called back several times, ( don't remember all the dates ), spoke with several individuals including a supervisor names XXXX. He informed me that the paperwork required to perform all for audits were submitted and he would personally keep track of it and call me the next day. It has been well over a month and XXXX has not called me back and no audits were performed. I wrote a letter to the President/CEO of Discover on XXXX XX/XX/2022. To this date I have not received a reply. I have a total of XXXX XXXX XXXX all five were active during the same time frame with only one was corrected. If one account had a problem, which was indicated with my receiving additional interest, it stands to reason that the other 4 accounts have the same problem.
