Consumer Complaint: I already had extensive contact with the banks involved with no resolution. I transferred {$3000.00} from Discover Bank savings account to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX checking account, both accounts in MY NAME. Discover deducted the funds but XXXX XXXX never added the funds to my account. I'm OUT {$3000.00} with no resolution after giving both banks all the details MULTIPLE times and contacting the FDIC with the details as well. the FDIC referred it to you and I'm out {$3000.00} since XX/XX/22. I need an answer and a refund please. I don't care which account the $ XXXX ends up refunded to. I'm thinking neither wants to admit fault so neither wants to do the refund. Please help me!

Consumer Complaint: Date : XX/XX/XXXX To : Discover Card & XXXX Re : Fair Debt Collection Practices Act Violation As amended by Public Law 111-203, title X, 124 Stat. 2092 ( XXXX ) and as a public service, the staff of the Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ) has provided us consumers the following text ( Excerpts ) of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act 1692-1692p. 808. Unfair practices A debt collector may not use unfair or unconscionable means to collect or attempt to collect any debt. Without limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following conduct is a violation of this section : ( 1 ) The collection of any amount ( including any interest, fee, charge, or expense incidental to the principal obligation ) unless such amount is expressly authorized by the agreement creating the debt or permitted by law. Discover Card and their attorneys violated my rights regarding an unlawful letter that was mailed to me by Discover Cards Attorney containing content that was untrue and unlawful and a direct violation of 15 U.S. Code 1692e - False or misleading representations. I have made several complaints regarding this and now I am hiring an attorney because it has devastated me and caused me mental anguish ever since I received a letter from the creditors ( Discover Card ) Attorneys ( XXXX ) dated XX/XX/XXXX. I have suffered migraines and upset stomach, XXXX, and severe stomach aches ever since I read the letter and was scared and upset at the amount the attorneys were asking which is not nor has it ever been consistent with what Discover Card has confirmed multiple times that I allegedly owe. XXXX scared me when I received a letter from attorneys at law and demanding payment of {$3400.00} which is over and more than the amount that Discover Card has stated and confirmed multiple times through many disputes of the amount that I allegedly owe Discover Card is in fact {$2300.00}, nothing more or nothing less. This is a direct violation of 15 U.S. Code 1692e - False or misleading representations, a federal violation. The actions of Discover Card and their attorneys XXXX XXXX also violated N.C. state laws with the same unlawful action, N.C. Gen. Stat. 75-54 Deceptive representation No debt collector shall collect or attempt to collect a debt or obtain information concerning a consumer by any fraudulent, deceptive or misleading representation. Such representations include, but are not limited to, the following : ( XXXX ) Falsely representing the character, extent, or amount of a debt against a consumer or of its status in any legal proceeding ; falsely representing that the collector is in any way connected with any agency of the federal, State or local government ; or falsely representing the creditor 's rights or intentions. I would like you to respond as to your position and what you propose as a remedy to these violations prior to me turning this entire nightmare you have put me through over to a FDCPA lawyer and filing a complaint with the N.C. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, I filed Complaint # XXXX with the CFPB, against Discover. When I finally received a response from the company, XXXX XXXX, from the Executive Office of Customer Advocacy gave only a very general final response to my dispute, and obviously did not actually conduct an investigation on the matter. It was evident that he didn't take the necessary time, or steps to review the documents enclosed in the dispute proving what correspondence took place regarding my issue, and how I was consistently given misleading and conflicting information by his company 's agents, as well as the written terms & conditions he provided! Also, I enclosed the copy of the Cardmember Agreement that I received with my card in the mail, and it clearly states the following ; " ACCEPTANCE OF AGREEMENT : You accept this Agreement if you do not cancel your Account within 30 days after receiving a Card. '' I DID in fact cancel the account well within the 30 days time frame, and that verifies that I did NOT accept the Cardmember Agreement, I also had enclosed evidence proving that I had called and chatted numerous times requesting the pending Balance Transfer be cancelled while it was still in a " pending '' status. XXXX XXXX claims he has no record of these conversations, but I had also enclosed evidence proving otherwise. The company did not complete any type of investigation regarding my dispute, which is evident in how their final response read. They also were legally responsible to provide me with details of how they conducted an investigation, but completely failed to do so. They overlooked and ignored documented evidence that I provided, and how they mishandled my dispute, is totally unacceptable! At the time that I received their final response, that closed my dispute filed with the CFPB, and basically put it in a " settled '' status, when indeed it has not been settled.

I went through a hard time personally so I entered into a collection agreement with a law office that I believe discover had assigned names XXXX XXXX XXXX. The agreement was for XXXX year. The settlement was for XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$480.00}. The total was {$5700.00}. I have proof on my XXXX account that I was paying them for that year. Discover still has it on my credit report. I need help in order to get this off. I did my part but it seems that no one is trying to help me. I even tried disputing it through XXXX. Wrong part was supplied. I returned the part, the vendor received. I have XXXX documentation proof. The vendor refunded to XXXX. XXXX refuses to return my money. I expected Discover card ( card used ) to stand up for me as XXXX would and has done several times. After months of back and forth, Discover refuses to refund my money. That is a lot of money for my wife and I ... all we have is social security We're out XXXX. Don't have product or money. I've done everything I can think of other than this complaint.

Consumer Complaint: Discover Chargeback Dispute # XXXX Discover disputed charge, that still has not been resolved since XXXX of XXXX. This involves a charge dispute, I was told to file by the XXXX XXXX XXXX, regarding a {$100.00} gift card issue at point of sale in which I did not leave the store with the gift cards paid for on the Discover card because the XXXX self-checkout register could not produce a gift card receipt. I opened a charge back for this in XX/XX/XXXX. After months of it not being resolved, I even made a special trip into XXXX to discuss with the store XXXX named " XXXX ''. She said she closed it out as undisputed, meaning not challenging the charge back and should all be good. Now recently, Discover keeps adding the charge to my statement as recently as the last XXXX days, then possibly refunding with some activity on my statement as recently as yesterday XX/XX/XXXX. It's been an on again and off again cycle for months. Now I see it again on my statement for a second time, being added and possibly re-credited. It's time for Discover to officially refund this charge and close out this case in my favor as the customer who did not even leave the store with the gift cards paid for with my Discover card. I did what XXXX 's XXXX told me to do, which was dispute the charge, and since XXXX states they are not challenging my charge back.

Consumer Complaint: I, a consumer and natural person, was denied credit by Discover when I applied for XXXX XXXX XXXX. Adverse action against a consumer is AGAINST THE LAW according to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act which is codified in 15 U.S.C 1691c and is subject to civil liability under 15 U.S.C XXXX. You are subject to criminal liability for violating 15 U.S.C 1691 as I have proof that I was discriminated against by Discover due to the response I received. Discover is in violation of 15 U.S.C 1642, U.S.C 1681m and 12 CFR 1002 because I the consumer made an application in good faith, but credit WAS NOT issued. Also my social security number ( credit card ) was used and I received NO benefit. This constitutes fraudulent activity ( unauthorized use of credit card ) on behalf of Discover according to law.

Consumer Complaint: I recently applied for a discover credit card because my credit score has increased and I'm in a better financial space. It was denied and it says because of a previous status of an account. I have never had any services with this company before and also there is no record of this account on my credit report. I have reported this issue to them before and was assure that it was resolved and that I would be able to apply again and I received a letter being denied because of previous account status. If there is an account it was opened in fraud and not by me. When I called the representative the account was was closed and paid off this is not my account. I need your help in getting the credit card company to review what is going on...
