Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I mistakenly submitted my account number of Discover Card which had not been activated. ( I have two accounts ),. Immediately an email was sent stating, the '' CARD WAS DECLINED BECAUSE IT HAS NOT BEEN ACTIVATED. '' Before I could make an adjustment, Discover Company charged the amount of {$54.00} to my account without my authorization or activation! I've made several calls to the company and each representative had a different story as to why the purchase went through despite the card not being activated by me. In my effort to get this rectified, I wrote on XX/XX/XXXX stating my dispute. XX/XX/XXXX I received an email stating they were not at fault and the {$54.00} would remain on my account. While still disputing, XX/XX/XXXX, I paid the amount in full only to avoid late fees or interest fees.
