Consumer Complaint: On XXXX, XXXX 2023 my credit card was stolen. The were ( 18 ) unauthorized transactions totaling {$30000.00}. Discover stated that they have completed the investigation and could not say for certain that the transactions are in fact unauthorized. They stated that this is due to the fact that two of the transactions were made using XXXX XXXX. I'm not sure how this happened as my phone was also stolen so that means someone had access to my information. Since their recent determination, they have reinstated the fraudulent charges back on to my account. This means that my account is maxed out and will ultimately effect my credit score. I have updated Discover with the details of the scenario regarding my phone and they have pushed the case to further review, however the charges will remain on my account for the foreseeable future. This is unacceptable.

Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Didn't receive terms that were advertised
Consumer Complaint: I saw an ad for Discover savings account where if you deposited a certain sum within 60 days of opening that account, Discover would give you {$200.00} plus interest of 3.9. I opened the card and transfer was done from one bank to the other. Discover reversed the transmittal of the sum and returned the money to my original bank. Thereafter, they closed my account citing business decision. This leaves me to believe that they had no intention of honoring their ad and they were surprised when I came up with the sum in their ad. This is false advertising.

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I applied by phone for a Discover card, I was approved but the credit limit approved unacceptable, compared to my other credit cards. I was on the phone with the rep for discover and told them ( Please I do not wish to take this card ) DO NOT OPEN THIS ACCOUNT Please. I called back at least 20 times and spoke with numerous supervisors including opening a case regarding this credit card. All these notations are on my account. I spent hours and hours trying to fix this. Discover told me do not worry this will not be reported to the credit bureaus. Yesterday XX/XX/2023, I received an email from XXXX stating my credit score had dropped from XXXX to XXXX in one day. I logged on and saw the reason for this was Discover reported to the bureau as a closed account. Discover had ruined my credit which is perfect, in ONE DAY! I have never had any lates, derogatory credit, all low balances, on all cards, No Public records, all credit scores above XXXX. This is totally unfair as I work so hard to make sure my credit is always perfect. Under the FCRA- and the CFPB they need to correct this information as It has hurt my credit substantially. This is Defamation of credit. False information has been reported and is a violation of the FCRA. NOTE : I am in the middle of purchasing a home and now because of Discover Card has completely ruined my chances of being able to purchase this. I know you help consumers greatly and would appreciate your help enormously. I need Discover to REMOVE this account from my credit bureas ( Delete this account ) I Never approved this card, received this card, or activated this card. I told them DO NOT open this account. A consumer has the right not to take a credit card. Please Help, thank you, XXXX XXXX XXXX
