Consumer Complaint: The CFPB refuses to monitor the Discover Bank. Discover is fraudulently billing me for {$15.00}. IPSO FACTO that CAN NOT be correct. We have issues never resolved but deemed closed by CFPB. The crux is this, if Discover is right and I owe {$71.00} on a dubious theft charge from XXXX, how is my balance {$15.00}? I never paid it and won't because it is an inaccurate bill, undelivered items proven by driver 's photograph and defective item. All three qualify as legal reason not to pay the bill. CFPB refuses to look at the facts that Discover can't lie their way out of. LOGICALLY Discover CAN NOT BE RIGHT! I OWE NOTHING!

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Hi! I used my Discover card to purchase a XXXX XXXX chair from XXXX. Because the shipping of the chair was delayed, I asked that the company not send the chair and refund my money. XXXX agreed to do this via email. After several months, I did not receive a refund and also never received a chair. I continued to contact XXXX and although responsive they continued to say that they had attempted to refund my purchase. After many months I asked them one more time to refund my purchase or I would file a dispute with my credit card company. They did not refund my money. I contacted Discover to dispute the charge and they reversed the charge. However, because the XXXX via email said that they " attempted '' to refund my Discover card ( they never confirmed a refund ), Discover said that because they attempted to do this the onus was on me to prove that they hadn't done so despite the fact that they did not see the refund on my Discover account. I contacted Discover several times but they closed the dispute. The ultimate situation ends with me paying for a XXXX XXXX chair from XXXX via Discover card and not ever receiving the item or receiving a refund. The total amount is XXXX.

Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023, XX/XX/2023 My credit card company is not protecting me from recent fraudulent practices by XXXX. I had filed several disputes with them indicating that XXXX was not fully refunding me the money I actually paid for the product even though they advertise " Free Returns '' at purchase. I have sent Discover proof that I was not refunded in full and there only response is that " we found the charge to be valid ''. They refuse to acknowledge that is not about a valid charge rather than it is about a refund that is less than what was paid. They have allowed the XXXX to give falsehoods saying merchandise was not returned in spite of me sending XXXX receipts. It is fraud to advertise " free returns no questions asked to bait Consumers into purchasing only to find out that the returns are not free. This is deceptive advertising by XXXX but Discover is complicit in the deception. Discover has refused to look at the clear evidence in front of them. Please assist. There are 2 other items that had a " free return '' statement at purchase. I will defer to those at a later date. To say that I did not return the merchandise and was not due any credit is absurd and has no merit. XXXX would not have refunded me had they not received the item back. Yet Discover allowed that statement to be used in their decision against me. As the refund clearly shows, I was charged {$99.00} and only refunded {$79.00} for an item that was advertised as " free returns ''. Please assist.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX took XXXX from my discover credit card in XX/XX/XXXX. I called discover before the transaction was posted to block money taken from me for that account. I had not gone to that place a single time in the month of XXXX but money was still taken from me. I called them and went in person to cancel my membership, they said it would be taken care of. I can not afford this transaction, I moved out from the city of XXXX where XXXX XXXX is back in XXXX. I can't afford to pay this. I also called discover before the transaction was posted and told them to place a stop pay from them because if you read reviews for " XXXX XXXX '' everyone states that they are deceiving and negligent in card information which is why I called discover before hand so that they could put a stop to it before it was posted. The transaction still went through, I did a dispute and they sided with the merchant. They are extremely negligent with the whole process and have not communicated with me at all since I have reached out to them after getting my card charged. Please read the reviews for " XXXX XXXX '' in XXXX to see I am not the only one in this situation. I can't afford to pay this and it is for a service I never took part in since I didn't go a single day in XXXX and the membership was for the month of XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Discover closed my credit card after I specifically had a payment plan in place to keep everything on and in good status. They failed and neglected to do so. They have seized my security deposit. They also just sent me a right to cure default letter. I have reached out numerous times and each time has been something different from Discover. Now they have advised me that even if I honor the right to cure default letter that they sent to me that my account will not be reinstated. XXXX is as follows XX/XX/2023 - Spoke with someone regarding my account at Discover. Advised that I was on workman comp and they hadn't paid me. She advised me of different payment methods. I opted for the wiring info and she advised that when I get paid I can call in and get the information. The wire was supposed to be for {$250.00}. Scheduled autopayment was supposed to be stopped. My personal bank account was compromised and she removed the late billing fee XX/XX/2023 - Email from Discover regarding closing my account advised that due to unusual payment activity my account was closed. XX/XX/2023 - Called the customer service center immediately right after that email was sent and asked what can be done because I had a payment arrangement in place to stay any action. Bank account was compromised and had a payment arrangement in effect. Account # ending in XXXX. I had not pushed a new manual payment through. They advised me to call the XXXX dept. at their next time they open. Which I did and the agent was very rude and basically told me " that's tough. We cant and we wont do anything '' XX/XX/2023 - Called back to file a complaint against the agent XX/XX/2023 - Received a letter in the mail that says " Right to Cure Default '' from Discover. I have a photo of it in my Informed Delivery from the USPS. It says that I have until XX/XX/XXXX to cure the default by paying the past due amount of {$92.00} XX/XX/2023 - Called Discover and spoke with an agent about everything and she admitted that everything I said is matching up with their records. On the phone with XXXX for over an hour and was advised that I need to talk to billing because there is no way that the XXXX dept. can restore the account. The XXXX rep XXXX advised that I need to talk to billing and find out why a right to cure default letter was sent out to me. She advised that the right to cure default letter had gone out after the account was revoked. She also advised that the letter was to serve as formal notice that the {$92.00} needs to be paid immediately. I asked her exactly what this means for the account in question. If I pay the requested amount listed in the right to cure default letter does this mean that my account will be reinstated? Will I have to put another deposit down? I informed them that because I asked Discover to delete the payment account and stop the autopay that this is Discovers fault because I did my part as a consumer and arranged for payment to be fulfilled. !!! I also have all of the calls between Discover and myself recorded on video!!!
